"WCW would never recover from this period..." I've always been truly shocked that WCW hung around long enough to even have a David Arquette championship reign. If i were Ted Turner, I would have pulled the plug immediately after the "Doomsday Cage Match."

There is a dumb gimmick match missing here, the infamous "San Francisco 49er's" Match. It was basically a Pole Match on steroids. Booker-T and Jeff Jarrett fought in this match for the "vacant" WCW Championship. The match had four boxes suspended from poles on each corner of the ring. One box had the Championship Belt, the other three had various objects in them, like a blow-up doll, and a framed photo of Scott Hall, for some reason. The match was total crap. Oh, and the reason the WCW Championship was vacated, Vince Russo, who "won" the championship a week earlier vacated it and put it up in this dumpster-fire of a match. This match occurred on an episode of Nitro by the way.

As a kid I really liked the concept of an "Uncensored" PPV. As an adult it was found that it took all three companies (WcW, Ecw, WWF) to properly develop it.

When an american asks me "why didnt you guys get wcw over there huh?" I often show them the electric chair match... and robocop. It all makes sense from that point on as to why SKY noped and went WWF.

The pole matches were shit... especially the Judy bagwell pole match n Viagra pole match. ..🤣🤣. Love ur channel..👌💖

several of them were high concept that were in spaces too small to work…and those luchadors were working for WCW then, not random people added- it was during the height of the luchador craze that WCW had that gave huge prominence to Eddie Guerrero and Rey Mysterio Jr.

I agree with 9/10 of these for sure but Starcade 1986 wasn’t WCW and it was 37 years ago. Not saying the match was a square circled classic but it is a all time legendary match. Night of the Skywalkers was a different time and ahead of it’s time.

Despite the stupid decisions made by people like Jim Herd,Bill Watts & the brief periods in which Sh*tstain Russo were in the company, WCW was great. WWF/WWE made just as many stupid gimmick matches. For those of us that have been Wrestling fans since the 80's would have given up watching it if it wasn't for Eric Bischoff revolutionising the product, making Wrestling cool again and forcing WWE to raise their game. Wrestling would have died a painful death a long time ago if it wasn't for WCW. Over 2 million people stopped watching wrestling when WCW went out of business like most of my friends. HHH's reign of terror putting himself over everyone with his awful sledgehammer gimmick year after year made people like myself hate the sport we had loved for decades. Pro Wrestling has never be the same without WCW. There's a reason why so many fans prefer shoot interviews, podcasts and watching old matches from the past especially WCW matches then actually watch todays wrestling, it's the nostalgia for what made them fall in love with wrestling in the first place. It's getting really old seeing people rip on WCW and always focusing on the negatives and not all the overwhelming positives but history is written by the victors. People loved the attitude era because of guys like Austin,Rock,Taker,D-X & Mike Foley but the rest of the product was the absolute sh*ts but as long as they had those top stars that people wanted to see, all the other garbage they were doing was tolerated. Despite the brief Russo era Nitro was the better product for real wrestling fans

The Triple Cage match was actually part of the Ready To Rumble movie, pretty sure that's the only reason they did it for real

It's not the triple story cage's fault it was booked with David Arquette. WWE should bring it out of retirement, as it's an intimidating structure.

As a massive Sting fan I loved the ‘Chamber Of Horrors’ match and saw it as a nice alternative to ‘War Games’ although it hasn’t aged well over the past 30 years

Those are all terrible matches, but let's not forget the complete failure of the San Francisco 49ers Match, where the goal was to grab the box from a pole that held the WCW Title but the title belt fell out of the box during the match.

Watching nitro again even in the Monday night war era, these shows do not hold up well over time. Especially the main events dominated by hulk who had really been phoning it in between the ropes. The heel turn made him a better character but it was all he relied in wcw. I genuinely can’t think of a truly great hogan match in wcw, i remember a lot of bad matches. It felt like “passable “ was hulk at his best in wcw. So many gimmick matches. Wwe is guilty of it also but aside from war games, wcw had awful concepts. Hell wwe does war games better than wcw ever did…but I will say sting’s squadron vs the dangerous alliance was a delight.

WCW always had interesting match concepts but horrible execution. And no one to tell them hey when was the last time Vince has a match on a moving semi truck? theres a reason......

The ready to rumble cage was not wcws hell in a cell as they had the rage in a cage match for that. The triple cage that they used for war games was a decent attempt at a concept
