People have been saying Fortran is dying for 40 years now. It won't die soon. Pretty sure Erlang is not anywhere close to dying either it is used for online gaming. And for Cobol it was also declared dead so many times it's a running gag.
I have to disagree with Cobol, most of the money in the World aka monetary transactions are still performed by COBOL, I hate COBOL but working on IT focused on Financial I know this from first hand
