For the easter egg in Rage I actually did that for a school project where we had to give a how to presentation. I got to bring in my system and play video games for a grade. It was awesome.
I could not stop laughing at the GOW3 easter egg LOL and I never even knew that easter egg I am going to tell a mate of mine to play this and tell him about the chicken but not tell him it gets big love to see and hear his reaction lol
@Pintopinata it's actually a reference to two Mountaineers who disappeared on Mount Everest, all they found was one of their equipment where he put a notch in all his equipment. Plus Bethesda won't reference someone when they sued them for using the word Scrolls in a title......
one of my favorite easter eggs is in Ocarina of time. In hyrule castle after you get past the guards in the castle courtyard youll end up in the room with zelda. there are 2 windows in that room. If you look through one of the windows, there are pictures of mario chracters. as for the other window, shoot it with your slingshot and a guy throws a bomb at you. fyi there are no mario pictures in the 3ds version.
Bethesda was suing Notch over the trademark of his next planned game "Scrolls". They continued with the lawsuit even after he offered to add a subtitle or even drop the trademark. But the development team at Bethesda disagreed with the lawsuit, and added the pickaxe as a nod of support to Notch, as Notch and Todd Howard are friends.
the best zombies easter egg song, even though its in the old maps, is the one and beauty of annihalation ooh and lullaby of a dean man. ask any zombie fanatic and those will be your answer. they were so polished
It's a reference to George Mallory who climbed Mount Everest. He was lost and only his pick was found (the pick had etchings "Notched Pickaxe"). The Throat of the World and Mount Everest are the highest mountains in Tamriel and Earth. BOOM.
One of my best easter eggs was the dev room in Rachet and Clank 2. That was so much fun. I also loved the food nipple grunt in anniversery/ce (was in original). Better than the Grunt Barrel In my opinion.
@roelran In AC you can dive off towers and rooftops at marked points and survive everytime, by landing in a hay bale or hay cart. The Witcher scene is saying that's what'd really happen if you tried that :) .
When I first shot at the lambent chicken, I crapped myself. It's not dissimilar to the way in Zelda where if you attack the chickens they come and attack you too.
The pickaxe may also be a reference to the English mountaineers Geroge Mallory and Andrew "Sandy" Irvine who disappeared while climbing Mount Everest in June 1924. Many search attempts were made to try and find Mallory and Irvine but were unsuccessful in doing so - the only discovery made for 75 years and several search attempts was a pickaxe a few hundred meters from the top, thought to belong to Irvine. Irvine marked his equipment, so the "Notched" prefix may refer to those markings. U MAD?
Even though i think the notched pickaxe is from Notch. There was a story about mountain climbers that got lost, and all they found was a notched pickaxe.
@xcelziorHD Actually, Zenimax asked Mojang to not trademark the name 'scrolls' as it could lead to legal reprocussions later on. Mojang said no, Zenimax took them to court over it
On rage in the sherif or the mayors office I can't remember exactly is a vault boy bobble head!:) I found this really cool, you awesome guys probably already know about it though and also the secret graffiti room that's such an amazing Easter egg! There's another part to the Lambent chicken Easter egg.If you keep playing to where C Carmine brings up the bridge look right and there will be a cover spot made of concrete.Go up to it and roll over it.And finnaly go up the stairs and there will be a cluck shot for you.Just thought you should know
On left 4 dead 2 on the demo map u can find a secret room by going onto the big lorry at one of the beginning places then jumping of the lorry onto the light then jumping onto the leage and hitting or shooting the wall/window and then u will find the secret room
They have had one album which I would consider reasonable but having wild spurts of good songs dotted around isn't good while generally only for example BFMV is consistently good with their albums.
