One note, he mentioned you can go 35 or so mph in low range. However, you are at risk of overheating the t-case, and any harsh impacts at that speed can shatter the planetary gears that are used in most aluminum t-cases. If you need to go over 10-15mph for any length of time, just shift into high.

Very impressive interview. I learned a great deal. Great job Tommy asking a question and letting him answer the question. We know Tommy has a good deal of off-roading experience, so letting the guest do a lot of the talking demonstrates his maturity.

I like how Tommy is sitting pretty still and buddy driving is bouncing all over in his seat. Reminds me of that scene in Ace Ventura when he’s bouncing everywhere and the passenger isn’t moving lmao. I do love your guys vids though, keep up the great work

Thanks for publishing videos for those of us who choose to lightly modify our Jeeps! I love my 2017 Willys Wheeler W pretty much the way it is. Based on RU-vid videos that portray most all Jeeps as highly modified, you’ believe that most Jeep owners are Independently wealthy or have many credit cards totally maxed out! It’s nice to see a video that shows how capable stock Jeeps are.

Nice tips but the sound levels are way off. I'm turning up the volume to hear the dialogue, but every musical interlude blows my ears out. Please don't put loud music like this near quiet dialogue. Very frustrating.

Wait... what? First, Capa is too lazy to air down? Then in the next breath he says "...the more traction you can create the less likely you are to have wheel hop..."??? Later he says that wheel hop can contribute to breaking "things." This is true. Okay, I get it - airing down DOES have its pros and cons. One "con" that Cappa mentions is loss of "some" clearance by airing down. True. However, THIS piece is for NEWBIES. We trainers work VERY hard to get newbies to take the time to air down their tires for added traction. We want newbies to air down at least a bit, for added traction - which enhances on-trail control and adds safety. The small loss of clearance when airing down is secondary to the increase one gets in traction. Tip #8 - Using 4-Low is a great one. Well done, as NEWBIES don't use 4-Low enough in my opinion. However, back to airing down. 4-Low puts more torque to the trail, but physics tells us "there's no torque without resistance" (traction at the tires). So, again, why NOT air down a bit for added traction - providing even more torque in 4-Low. Mostly a good video; nice job.

Straight-up: if a Rubicon Hard Rock two door can't get there, then "there" was not meant to be reached.

Also... People would disconnect sway bars to put more tires on the ground (a HUGE help if you have open differentials (without brake locking differentials) front and back.. Well... Since almost everything has lockers, brake locking differentials , and /or limited slips ... Having all wheels on the ground matters less and less IMO .

Don't let ego get in your way, take your time, use bypass if need to.

I notice the 4Runner doesn't seem to be having any difficulty with the rocks...

Can you please make a video on how to do the clutch control during off roading. I recently went to the Himalayas using a Hyundai Creta 1.6 Diesel. Had a tough time on very steep inclines on wet slippery dirt and bumpy surface with rocks. How do I avoid burning the clutch and how much revs should I keep etc... Is clutch burning normal in such situations? How to keep the car from stalling in such obstacles? please share your valuable info..thanks buddy !

People don't realize that both airing down and disconnecting your sway bar can cause a reduction in clearance.... Sway bar is an extra spring... Makes you stiffer , less spring compresion but ONLY on turns or uneven surfaces... Ok... When are you not uneven and not turning on off road.... The whole time.... Unless you're going to tip over from picking a tire up too high instead of absorbing it.... I don't think disconnecting sway bars is typically a good idea ... Sway bars are there to increase stability...

I love these videos. This one is no exception. One tiny criticism? You cant always pick your terrain! Why make statements in these videos like "You want to avoid situations like this" Nit picking over with...... Should I ever reach a situation where I can try climb a certain rock or avoid it This is the advice to take! Great video

Opinions needed. Trade in my 2017 stock ram Laramie crew cab with 7k miles for an 18 Rubicon recon unlimited with body colored match hard top and fenders with 11k miles, 4 grand difference?. I live in Iowa but want to travel more to Colorado and Utah for off-road. Is this a no brainier trade?

You should of talked about your front diff also. Very important. Basically your front diff is where your gas peddle is. I can not beleave you did not mention anything about watching for that.

Half the time people are disconnecting a sway bar when there's NO need. Rock crawling yeah... Ok. Fine there....

Dont use 4low in 4th or 5th gear, it creates a massive strain on the drivetrain and should be avoided.
