Number 2 was them doing a joke song, and ironically it was the highest that country ever placed ever. I doubt they expected to win, that particular country never wins, it was just something funny. And it's honestly a catchy song, and a pretty awesome performance.

Lithuania has taste. Lithuania can be ironic. If you go with this intention - you risk to be at the bottom or close to the top. It's still the highest entry of Lithuania. And we are proud of that.🇱🇹💪

I'll never forget Dustin the Turkey being Ireland's entry. Most of my extended family gathered in our house to watch his performance, and our commentary was even more entertaining than the entire show. 😅🍿

In relation to this topic and to this year's Eurovision one should pay attention to Finland's "Windows95man - No Rules!". The Finnish jury responsible for selecting the candidates to send to Eurovision gave the statement that this year's candidates were all mediocre and lacked distinction from each other and previous Eurovision contributions and had nothing original nor something impressive to contribute. So the jury basically went with, "F*ck It!" and made a gamble on sending the Windows95man for the reason that at least it's "something else"...

The UK always does terribly coz a) we just don’t take it all that seriously, so the money and effort that goes into other country’s acts just isn’t there for ours. And b) we could produce an absolute BANGER, best talent their generation has ever seen across the world… and we’d still fail miserably. Eurovision isn’t about voting for the best act, it’s about voting for friends and neighbours. And UK is an island who always got people’s backs up, before we voted for Brexit. We never stood a cat in hells chance! 😂

As A German I definitely miss "Wadde hadde dudde da?" in this compilation, even though I wouldn't call it a fail, it was fun. And of course much better than every other group or singer e've been sending to Eurovision during the last years. I'm pretty sure we've already booked a place in the end of the list this year already. And, to be fair, we absolutely deserve it with these crappy musicians. We should have sent Electric Callboys to ESC, but we missed that opportunity several years ago.

2008 was a bit of a rough year, but not without great songs. For example, Albania, Turkey and Finland (and San-Marino for some reason) are my personal favorites from that year, and the Grand Final top 5 (except for maybe Russia) is still held in high regard in the community as far as I can tell

1999 The Netherlands with Double Date - Email to Berlin. These 2 women sang so badly offkey that I find it a miracle that they scored 19 points. (6 public and 13 jury) My advice is to NOT listen to that song.

The first contribution in this video was also due to the public vote. The casting show "MusicStar" was on in Switzerland and the performers in the Eurovision entry were all former contestants. Of course, everyone thought the song was bad, the singer was awful and the backing vocals were terrible - but they won the televote. Everyone shook their heads. It was so embarrassing that we sent this garbage.

If I remember correctly Dustin the Turkey's song was about the mighty Ireland having eurovisionally fallen, and the Eurovision having become terrible. I believe that was why the song got booed.

Never has the word ' Subjective ' held such meaning. When hearing Eurovision song selection's and how those songs are recieved by an audience and how they will be judged by every other country is a brain melting endeavor. This decades long competition is year on year an ever worsening bucket of truly ( subjectively ) awful ideas for a song, the actual song, the ' talent ' that perform the song, the costumes they wear and then finally how it's then presented on stage as the representative choice of a nation. This bubbling cauldron of collective nastiness and frivolity is now more of a parady on what was once seen as a unifying bridge for a fractured continent. Bringing nation's together through the universal language of music and song. Once. For all the fault's of the European Song Contest. There is one undeniable truth. It is so awfully bad it's good. It became something good and wholesome, fun for the whole family. And it endures. No matter how bad it gets. The Eurovision song contest endures. And that is a " so bad it's a good thing."

Someone needs to better clarify what a "Eurovision Fail" is, and why a lot of these weren't fails. This also seems very UK-based. It needs more of an international flavour.

Where in this list is the insufferable Sylvia Night who performed a horrible song for Iceland in an even more horrible way? Everybody booed her off the stage. Her song was called Congratulations, because she had arrived. But the congratulations were in order the moment she finished her terrible performance and left again!

FYI -> The ESC is created by the EBU which are 68 broadcast companies in 56 states of Europe, North Africa and Middle East which includes Israel. And Australia is also a member of the EBU.
