Craig I paused your video when you showed that Verizon was now available for calling. But my excitement was short lived. As I was going through the setup, I read the agreement that says. The service is free for the first 30 days then thereafter it costs $5/mo. Nope I am not paying Verizon nor Amazon for the pleasure of using my Echo devices to receive a call. I will just be content to make calls. I would’ve love to receive them but oh well.
I have a echo routine as our alarm that runs at 5.30am, it gives us all the fun facts, plays the news, turns on the lights and then waits 20 minutes before reminding us to get out of bed.
Alexa jokes are far more interesting than Google and we have Alexa sing us a song as an incentive to get out of bed. Actually her songs are pretty good.

What I would appreciate (special Videos) would be the following: 1) Troubleshooting the most common issues (e.g. HomeTheater speakers (not all available), finding and deleting duplicates of devices etc. 2) Best Practice in Naming Devices (e.g. in conjunction with Philips Hue, Room setup and Groups), Administration of Devices, what to do if you have 2 Studio, one Show and a FireTV in the same room (which of the devices shall respond for e.g. Blink Video, versus Music Playback etc. 3) short Comes (Top 10 of functionalities you wish would be there but are not available (e.g. have 2 Studios and 2 Echos (as rears) as your Home Theater Setup with FireTV,.
The only thing I can think of that might help is a routines that runs in the middle of the night or before bed. That routine can have a step that sets the echo volume.
Does anyone know if Alexa be set to just perform a request without a response, e.g., Spotify starts immediately when asked without Alexa confirming it's going to play Spotify?
I like the idea of the calling feature but unfortunately it sucks.I was told that you can only make emergency calls from a list of 10 numbers.It just doesn't work.Every time there's an update it usually messes something up.
Just realized I've been watching your videos and haven't subscribed! Oops! ....subscribed now!! ;-) Just purchase a 1st Gen (refurbished) Echo Show 8 from Amazon for $49. Looking forward to getting some use out of it thanks to your videos!
I haven't listened to music from Amazon music in a while, but last I did I thought the lyrics stay on the screen. I know with other services you can't. The echos have always been bad about timing out and going back to the Home Screen.
Hi Craig: Off topic, is there a way to balance paired speakers? In other words I would like left speaker to play at a lower volume than the right. (Dot gen 3)

Oh wow, now you can watch streaming on Echo… nice. My Alexa just suggested a routine for my living room lights. When I asked Alexa to turn off Living Room lights, she asked if I wanted the lights to turn on at sunset. Yes. She created a routine.
Great stuff Craig, this will be my goto channel for echo devices. I see you cover other products too! I'd love to see a comparison of motion detection devices VS the Echo 4. Is it reliable? I've had it work once this morning, and never again. Is it limited to one trigger a day or no trigger before it senses the room empty. OR is it just unreliable?
i think my favorite feature is the reminder, though yes it can be done in my phone but most of the time my phone is in silent or low volume. i get reminded by the echo studio to take out trash, my boy's P.E. day on schedule. which is handy.
Hi, Does anyone know how to permanently delete a devise so Alexa wont find it? I don't have access to the actual device or app it was applied through. It's driving me crazy because it limits me and the ability to use those same names on new device. Any help is greatly appreciated. Scott

Helpful reminders of what to use my stuff for. Some of the grouping rules for speakers are frustrating. Can't have a left and right speaker with my echo subwoofer because the left and right aren't identical. Can't put the one speaker with the woofer in one group and then include them in a larger group. If this has changed I'd like to know. Also they dropped the flex which was only ten bucks on sale and was perfect for some places. Otherwise very happy with the echo line capabilities.
So you can pause music on one device and resume it on another device, correct? But can you pause it on one device and resume it on a group of devices? That would be nice. And the ability to stream from your phone via Bluetooth to multiple speakers at once would be nice too. Thanks
My top new feature for the year would be custom actions in routines. But nothing can make up for the headaches they have caused us this year completely dropping the ball with software. Just one example, the various clock choices that cycle on the show 5 has been broken since March. But you can be damn sure that "alexa for your day" works every time. BTW, how ironic that you got ByTheWayed twice. Really wanted to see you throw that thing across the room.
