No twist behind the salesman, he’s one of the most famous actors in Korea so they used him for a couple scenes to draw audiences, he was probably too expensive to be in more scenes.

The reason the pot was 45.6b was because each player was worth a set amount. If there were 300 players it would have been 30.0b. So of course the piggy bank would equal the last player's number. Also, didn't it show the previous winner's numbers when the cop looked into the files? 456 didn't always win.

The price money is actually wrong, since it should've been ₩45,5b rather than ₩45.6b. I'm surprised how much this has been overlooked, since 455 players died, which were each worth ₩100m

I don't know if anyone has mentioned this yet. But I noticed something when rewatching the show (spoiler alert!!): When they are dropped off after the games end for the first time, Gi-Hun swears on his mother's life that he won't hassle Sae-byeok if she unties his hands. Of course he immediately breaks this promise, and Sae-byeok says "that's all your mother means to you." This foreshadows his mother's death at the end of the show. I think the directors were trying to subtly remind the audience of the importance of keeping your promises.

Also during the glass pane bridge game each string of lights showed the correct pattern to cross the glass bridge. I thought contestant 456 noticed it when he looked downward before his first step onto a glass panel. But nope. He was just being scared, and dumb because he forgot which one was the correct first panel.

Some things I noticed: 1. Gi-hun met the players (Sae-byeok and Sang-woo) who made it to the final game before the game 2. Only the players with the first (001) and last (456) numbers made through the game 3. The sadest deaths in the game (Death of Ali and Sae-byeok) were the deaths of non S.Koreans (Ali - Pakistan, Sae-byeok - N.Korea)

When you look back, 001 actually shows no intention on pairing up in 2, knowing that no one's gonna choose him in any given circumstances. He also knows that this will be his perfect alibi to the other players as to how he gets eliminated, just by getting left behind and letting the others hear a gunshot on the background. But Gi-Hun reached out and ask him to play together. Thus, explains why 001 was grateful to Gi-Hun as he let him play and have the chance to enjoy the game. This was also connected as to why 001 let Gi-Hun wins and move forward saying "You made all this a good experience". An experience not just in the game itself but as to how he treated him all through out.

It definitely seems like the old man was supposed to disappear after the marble game. Either by not being paired up or some other way. I don’t know how he could’ve played the bridge game. Though I don’t think he was as feeble as he pretended to be.

456 relates to the prize money because the prize money is based on the amount of players. I don't think the fact that he is 456 and that the price was 45.6B$ is related. They say during the show that the prize pool is based on the amount of players that get eliminated.

Jun-ho is NOT dead. Every character who died did it in full view. This is also what tipped me off to Mi-Nyeo getting dragged off instead of being shot right there. I wondered why they didn't fire a shot at least after the doors close, but she's a loudmouth so I'm oretty sure they would have heard her yelling after

Another theory: The workers were previous players who didn't come back to play again. Their position (Circle, triangle, square) is determined by how many games they passed before voting to not finishing the games anymore. The players who didn't come back after the first game in this edition (2020) became the part of the "Circle" workers because they gave up after just one game. Because Front man won his game in 2015 (and never gave up) , he was given a much higher role. What do you think?

I think the guards are just criminals in the outside world. They are low life’s in society which means they won’t draw much attention. Also when they were removing players organs and selling them on the black market like the same way the loan shark in the beginning wanted player 456’s organ if he didn’t get him the money.

I honestly feel that not only does the red hair symbolize the rage Gi-Hun feels but also to remind himself of all the blood spilt in the games. It’s his way of coping with survivor’s guilt, a permanent reminder of all those who died during the games. A reminder of the people he grew to care about and lost.

456 also represents the amount of money Gi-Hun won at the race course, 4.56 million won. Another fact: When Jun-Ho found squid files, on In-Ho's file stated that he went to Police Academy and was also a cop (material for a prequel?). Last fun fact: We already had a hint who was going to win the last squid game at the time of the horse race. Winning horse was #6 (Gi-Hun 456) and the runner-up was #8 (Sangwoo 218).

Something I was confused about is how In-ho became the frontman. He won the game and still lived in a small arpartment and went missing just a few days before the game started. He won the game 5 years ago, it would make more sense if he would've won it last year and then became the frontman somehow, but why so late???

I think the guards are more likely to be inmates, they seem just as trapped as the players, plus they all sleep in a cell by the look of it. Also if you look closely on the big screen when the guards are showing everyone how much in debt they are, you can see a player throw a red card instead of a blue one.

I don’t understand that theory at all, it doesn’t make any sense if people really stopped to think about it they would see it’s a really stupid theory especially since Il Nam created the games, if someone else had created the games and Il Nam was just another random player also down on his luck and he had to play the games then Gi Hun being his son would make a bit more sense.

Gi-Hun is Il Nam’s son. His birthday is Oct 31st and Il nam says his son is having a birthday soon on October 24th. The whole contest was set up so that Il nam could test to see wether Gi Hun was worthy of receiving his wealthy inheritance with the games as a veil and Gi Hun the already chosen winner. This is why he’s so upset when Gi Hun lies to him during the marbles, he wants his son to be honest and harkens back to this moment in their final meeting.

Any theory that is proposing that it was setting up for a sequel can automatically be shot down due to the pure fact that squidgame was never expected to blow up like it was and therefore the writer that took 10 years to write the show never expected to create a sequel. In fact the only reason he's discussing it now is because of the demand for a sequel in which he is now taking it into consideration

gi-hun is il-nams son. in the first episode it shows him put in his birthday at the atm when he stole his mothers card. Also during the marble game, il-nam asked go-hun what day it was and said his son's birthday was a couple days later. and if you pay attention to the birthday he put in is 3 or 4 days after the marble game takes place.

jun-ho most definitely isn’t dead. if you pay attention, you can see that his brother shot him closer to his shoulder to purposely make sure he didn’t kill him and that he just fell into the water. in other scenes of the front man killing people, he normally shoots him in the head to make sure they are dead.

Casting Gong Yoo as the charismatic salesman does offer the meta commentary of how that well-known actor is part of how the series lured in many viewers, but from what I understand, Gong Yoo just happens to be friends with the director and didn’t want to take on a large role at the time but offered to do the cameo as a favor.

I wonder there could be a second survivor from the games. Like with Gi-hun's dyed red hair... the woman that helped the homeless man in the final episode also had dyed red hair and I feel that didn't happen by accident and that woman is someone that we already know. I wonder the twist is that Sae-byeok is alive and she is the woman with the dyed red hair that helped the homeless man, the games agreed to let her go and live and they'll pay her lots of money... as long as she doesn't return to her family... let Gi-Hun do that for her.

I love Squid Game but most of these are ridiculous, especially the red hair. I dont get how people can say the guards are wearing red suits... its pink. Their theme song is literally called the PINK guards. So how does red hair (or the red square in the flip game) have anything to do with *pink* guards?

Other honorable mentions: - All of the henchmen are minors (hence they are all basically child soldiers) - The S.Korean Gov’t. “Knows” the existence of the game but kept classified. - Season two or at least one of the continuations will going to be a prequel with In-Ho will be the main protagonist and how he became the person he is right now.

The Organ harvesting guy was actually old, we saw a supervisor was a young kid but it could vary, we only have 2 examples of their faces so far.

I don't think the color of the card chosen dictates if they were a player, or guard. In the first episode, when everyones debts are being aired out, you can see one of the players using the red card. Specifically at 38:24 into the episode. Look at the left of the big screen.

A Friend of mine suggested that the games were a plot by North Korea. He said that it was a plan to make South Korea look bad on the international stage . If it was ever found out by the authorities the Un would be angry at the south for letting its own people get killed like that which we lead to Usa pulling its troops out of South Korea,followed by an invasion of South Korea by North Korea and The un would be slow to act or even act at all. Therefore giving North Korea more power on the international stage.

Jun-ho could have survived, but I think he is someone who had their death foreshadowed. When he snuck onto the barge he killed a guard then put his bag on the body and threw it overboard where it washed up latter. The Jun-ho is shot off a cliff where presumably he will wash up somewhere (either alive or dead).

The reason why the prize money was the same number as gi-huns number was because the amount of players corresponds to the money as each player is worth 100,000 won or 1 million I can’t do the maths but it’s for that reason not that gi-hun was destined to win the games

I think the ultimate prize money was $45.6b won owed to whoever won the prize regardless of it was Gi-Hun or not since every death was represented in the pool and i guess they added Gi-huns earnings in the pool since he survived.
