FF2 is highly underrated. The Skrulls are being set up to play a major role in the MCU. They appeared in Wandavision, Captain Marvel, and Spider-man. They set up Secret Invasion and could be huge.
Definitely in the short to medium term I think that book has a lot of potential with everything going on around them in the MCU. I’m a little more concerned about how much any price jumps would hold long term.
I clicked on this video when I saw the FF in the title. They were my 1st love of the Marvel Universe, even b4 Spider-Man, back in the early '70s. Today I own #45 & #67, but mostly I'm proud of recently completing a run of FF 29 - 545. Marvel's 1st Family.
Me at 4:45 😩😩 FF1, when compared to its cohorts, has always been undervalued IMo just as it has been always at the top of my want list. It sounds like this book is finally stepping into the spotlight….. aaaand even further out of reach! Excellent insight and presentation as always, thank you 3000!
Yeah, FF books in general have always underperformed their counterparts in other runs (with a couple exceptions). But I imagine that will change the instant they show up on screen. I’m honestly surprised they haven’t already since a movie was announced. But it’s always the same with comics. No one believes it or acts on the books until its too late and they’re already here =)
Thanks! Yeah, I was surprised by that too. I actually texted my brother as I was doing the numbers on these because I was surprised how much weaker a lot of the FF books were compared to the other titles.
Just picked up a copy of Fantastic Four #2. I personally think the book is undervalued considering it's the 2nd appearance of the team and 1st appearance of the Skrulls, who I would consider a massive part of the Marvel universe. Great video again, love your top 10s.

10 out of 10. They have been with me since late 70's. All raw and can be graded between 3.0 thru 7.0. They are going to stay raw. Great video and very informative. Congrats sir.
Just rewatched this video (loved it by the way). I am trying to complete my Fantastic Four run ( need 69 more issues to complete volume 1). I need 8 out of 10 of these! I think I will am going to have to take a second mortgage out on my house to finish this run😀
Great job as always. I was really surprised about the data on FF 67. It's a great book, story is awesome, art is awesome, the HIM/Warlock debut, one of the last major characters that Lee & Kirby created on their FF run. The book is totally undervalued for what it actually represents. Always been one of my favorites in the run.
The Fantastic Four was one of Stan Lee's favorite creations. Kevin Feige recently said that they plan on bringing MARVEL's first family the RIGHT way. As soon as confirmed casting and trailers start showing up these books are going to explode. GREAT insight! THANKS.

I think FF1 is definitely undervalued, but personally, I don't think any silver age book will be able to rival AF15. Spider-Man is just so much more popular and universally well known than any other character in the Marvel universe.
Thanks! It’s hard to say what the comic market will be like in a couple years when the FF movie is looking to come out, but even if things stay relatively steady those prices will likely go up a lot with any casting news or even better, a trailer where we see them on screen.
@@AutomaticComics It even showed the full cocoon, how much more of teaser do people need? People are going to be kicking themselves for not picking up now that it's cheap on any grade.
Great list. I love FF 45 and 67 as specs. Know you couldn’t put too many on but watch out for 6 as well with 4 and 5 out of reach. Traded about (current value) 16K worth of books ( 6 total) for a FF 5 4.5. Happy with that trade. Thanks!
I looked at FF6 when I did the full review of 33 different FF keys for the video I did with Bry’s Comics. It’s actually up 245% in the last year so it’s hard for me to recommend. That was the top moving book (tied with FF49). Saying that though, I buy that book whenever I can find it at a discount because it’s such a good book (I have 3 of them at the moment 😂). Usually it’s low grade copies though. High grade ones are really expensive now.

Avengers is definitely on my list to do. I’ll have to think about cap. That one will probably require some crossover to different titles like Tales of Suspense, Avengers, and his self titled series.
Ryan I loved the videos as usual...but a question to ponder...If now is the time to buy these then when is the time to sell? I had bought a FF5 years ago for 353 dollars and got it slabbed at a CGC 1.0 and sold it for almost 4k...The question is a hard one but what is the metrics you use to determine when to sell? I'm afraid that buying some hot books now is buying high...Thx!
For selling books, that is a much more personal question. What I mean is it is very dependent on your personal goals within the hobby. For me, I have a tight list of books that are part of my NFS list (about 50 books). If I add a book that list I have to take one off. This is my way of keeping myself out of a hoarder situation lol. Everything else I sell. So I’m selling all the time. That’s also why my buy price is so important to me and why I do so much pricing research on all the books I’m interested in. I don’t worry about catching the absolute top for any book or anything like that. If you’re not in that kind of situation and are more of a long term holder of books, it’s been shown the best time to sell a book is usually between fall and spring (minus the few weeks before christmas, that’s one of the worst times). Summer and right before christmas are usually the low points. For specific characters, the best time is when the first trailer drops for a movie they’re in. That has historically been one of the peak points for a book. Right now with the recent spikes, the metric I’m using is if a key book is up 200-300% from its price last year in ~May, then I’m comfortable selling it. I may still miss some movement up on the book in the short term, but at that point I think we’ve seen most of that big move.
