The stories of how we find records is a huge part of our collecting these slabs of vinyl. Anyone can click a couple of buttons but parking lots and car trunks ?? Great stories.

My favourite record of all time is my original UK vertigo swirl, Patto - Hold Your Fire. My grandma would always buy me records at garage sales, even though I didn’t have a record player. I kept every single one and didn’t go through them until after I started collection about a year ago. Learned about Vertigo through watching your channel, almost lost my mind when I realized what she had bought me. She got it for 1$, checked eBay and Discogs, and when I saw that 200$ median I nearly dropped my jaw to the floor. Amazing psych album, absolutely love it. Rock on, Anders

What makes an important record is a good story. A great record is not about value, it’s about the emotion that it creates inside of you and the personal history it brings back to memory. I was working on videos of my life for my kids based upon music as most things in my life tend to have a soundtrack. Really enjoyed this solely for your stories. Have a great week Dillon

The Yesterdays Children album you featured on your show has a legendary status in the area of Connecticut where I live .The musicians who play on it were local residents who resided in the communities of Waterbury and Prospect here in the Naugatuck valley region .A friend of mine who owned Brass City Records knew them very well . I appreciate your passion and love of so many types and genres of vinyl and your unique way of expressing your excitement. Keep doing what your doing and God Bless. Thank You

My wife and I were just up in Elk Park, NC. I just found your channel and now I’m hooked. I’m sitting here on my couch in Florida and realize we were close to your shop and we missed the opportunity to come and say hello. I miss my years thumbing through record bins. Years ago, 1970, I started collecting music while at Tulane University in New Orleans. They had a co-op record store on campus called the Mushroom and that’s where I spent every spare dime, going home and playing my latest purchase on a mono-suitcase record player in my dorm room. Best to you and keep these videos flowing.

As always, great stories man! Love the records, the townes is incredible! Can‘t wait for the next video. One of these „record moments“ for me was listening to the second Georgia Satellites album in a music store in 1988 when I was 15. I grew up with the Beatles and some Kiss and AC/DC, but not much choice on then very restricted Swiss Radio. Then after years of listening to European FM (Synth Pop, New Wave, German crap etc) I suddenly heard Rock N Roll again. Their cover of Whole Lotta Shakin’ is brilliant. Been hooked ever since.

Zeppelin played at The AlbertHall in 1970. The cover of that bootleg you have is the poster from the 1971 show at Wembley Empire Pool {might be the Albert Hall concert with the Wembley Empire Pool poster used for the artwork I guess} en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Led_Zeppelin_United_Kingdom_Tour_Winter_1971 Love that Budgie album you have behind you {"Squawk"}, though "Never turn your back on a friend" is the classic album by them. Metallica covered the opening track {"Breadfan"}. Van Halen used to play "In For The Kill" live. Great & influential Welsh band.

Wow....great video! This brings back memories....I remember getting into music at a very young age....I started "borrowing" my parents records at a very young age. But everything started in 5th grade for my birthday when I got as a gift a bunch of 8 tracks(Millennials need to google these) included were Kiss Double Platinum, Rolling Stones Hot Rocks and ELO Eldorado....this changed everything....I was immediately hooked on music. A funny side note....whenever I hear Hard Luck Woman from Kiss to this day I still hear the song fading halfway thru and then clicking to the next # and starting to fade back in...yup 8 tracks were that BAD! Fast forward 40 years and 2500 records later and the addiction keeps growing😔 Keep up the great work....

I was at that Led Zeppelin concert in 1970 at the Royal Albert Hall one of my first proper concerts I went too, but the very first concert was Tony Bennett with the Count Basie Band and I was only 16 years old great memories, I also saw the one and only Creedence Clearwater Revival Concert in the UK in London 1970. Saw Mighty Baby many times at the Roundhouse Chalk Farm London, they were just one of many great bands I saw around 1969 to 1980, two very underrated bands I really like and saw the most were Stray and Quintessence, have a listen to the live track St Pancras, it captures there live act with some great guitar playing, they both made a few albums around the early 1970’s check them out, Stray have a great guitarist called Del Bromhan, he’s still playing to this day!

Man that Piper story was pretty amazing, almost like you are destined to keep it. Pink Floyd is my favorite band and the early stuff is hands down my favorite Floyd. I really dig the more jam oriented thing they had going on pre Dark Side. Piper is definitely the apex of 60s psychedelia for me as well, Interstellar Overdrive still blows my mind. Last thing, the Mighty Baby and SRC albums you recommended are absolutely insane. I was looking for some more psych albums along the lines of Arzachel and T2 and man did you deliver! Scrambled my brains haha! Another one of my favorites that’s similar is Andromeda self titled from 1969. Best wishes to you and your family.

Sentimental videos are so interesting!! Natural Mystic is a song from heaven. Dumpster diving, the best way. Record Store owner near me still does this, only wants rock n roll type vinyls, throws the 'good stuff' in the trash every month or so. Often a good idea to keep an eye out on record stores, or the back of them, near you.

that's probably the most appropriate place to find a muddy waters blues record, not because it's bad, but because it's blues. Blues lives in the dirt, obscurity, like most great men. It's got a sorted past, it's seen things. It might've went blind 50 years ago, but it's still singing.

I have been keeping a listening log since 2003, so I can say how many times I have listened to each record - the ones I listen to the most must be my favorites, right? Since Dillon has done rock and blues, I will hit my top three in Britfolk and classical. For classical, I will go by the piece rather than individual performances, and recommend performances. 1. Battlefield Band - Home is Where the Van Is 2. Pentangle - Cruel Sister 3. Nic Jones - Penguin Eggs 1. Bruch - Scottish Fantasy - You can't go wrong with the Oistrakh/Horenstein, but the Grumiaux and the Perlman are also highly worthwhile 2. Schubert - Arpeggionne Sonata - the Shafran, the Starker, and the Rostropovich are all great 3. Brahms - Violin Concerto - Kogan/Kondrashin, a $5000 record, but I have the reissue - I also have 22 other ones

Another great video brother. Off topic, a few weeks ago you had your buddy on and he was gushing over your home set up. I’m looking to seriously upgrade mine, could you please let me know what you have ? I’m keeping my Technics 1200’s cos they’re part of the family at this point but could you let me know what components you have and wether that would work with my decks. ✌🏻

I mean this in the best of ways i reslly do...I’m a fellow southerner and suffer from the same affliction. You are long winded as hell lol. You remind me of me a few years younger. Just like you it takes me 20 minutes to tell a 30 second story. Rock on dude!

Another wonderful video Dillon. Loved all the stories and it doesn't matter that some you've told before. Always great to hear you talking about your personal experiences.

That side slip on Pink Floyd album says it's released in Japan. Usually, when an album is released in other countries, album content may differ slightly from the one released in the US.
