this DLC added a lot of references to the clan invasion in the news tab, pirates going missing the periphery and the like, hopefully, if there is another DLC it will have some clan invasion stuff in it.
@@mattkomlofske8912 I actually found they take as much space as 3 reg heatsinks while working like 2 regs they are good if you have space and are low on tonnage but not ideal if you have space and tonnage for more singles.
@@gunrunner7224 They are helpful to reduce weight so you can add armor or ammunition. I have light mechs with max armor because of using Double Heat Sinks.
One thing I think everyone should know about cantina missions is that they can be canceled. On the home page click on where it shows the orange star on the upper left and then you can abort any of the cantina missions without any negative impact. I had no idea about this until I watched a RU-vidr do it.
Missed the BIG thing for rifles, they can be mounted in smaller slots... heavy and medium rifle only take up medium slots, unlike heavier ac weapons.. which can only be mounted on LARGE ballistics slots. Light rifles can be mounted in small ballistics, which only had machine guns before.
Another tip for people, moving a mech to cold storage will also strip the upgrades meaning you will have to rebuy the upgrades if you decide to use that mech again.
@@madking1485 yeah it really annoyed me taking weapons off is fine they aren't to expensive to put back on. But having to repurchase say 5 mil in upgrades can really hurt your bank.
That is just BS. Like how the upgrades just disappears from the mech like that. This is just a feature that makes the game unnecessary complicated without any logical reason.
@@JV-ll1cu Completely agree, there's quite a few choices in this game that made me think "What? Why? That's dumb" I still like it don't get me wrong but its really disappointing they seem to aim "just over the line" instead of "Aiming for the stars". Personally I think the perks are dumb they should of just expanded the customisation like the mods Merc tech and reloaded did where if you wanted better armour or acceleration or turn speed you actually buy new engines and reinforced armour and different gyros.
I have to say, the community did so much work to make this game so awesome. Mods are a must in my opinion. I really hope we get Clan's and all other good part of Mech Warrior Online. I really hope the Bushwacker of MWO will come to MW5. It's such an iconic mech.
O, that takes me back! My first was MW3. I would recommended trying BattleTech if you haven't already. Also in case you didn't know there is a table top, that's where all these came from. Though there are a lot of rules and dice rolls, etc. The models are great! So I buy just to have them around.
Yep, series started as a tabletop rpg combat game and got adapted in the 80s and 90s as BattleTech and MechWarrior. BattleTech is an isometric style game with more open play where the MechWarrior games are FPS styled play. Both pull from the BattleTech table game and both use tech and mechs associated with the game.
Same here now I’m addicted I played Armorcore when I was lil and sucked at it cuz it was too advanced for me at the time so I thought these types of games was garbage but then recently got bored with FPS’s and gave MW5 a try and now I’m sucked into this genre n luving it
@@cwyang80 not that I know of, but wouldn't make sense for them too to keep up with the storyline? Especially in the dropship after the last mission and how our main character learned that his father and himself are descendants of the clans?
This is an eighteen minute video from an official channel talking about their game. This is where you find a lot of the gold that we go to Let's Plays and Video Reviews to find, the kind of stuff that doesn't easily fit into review columns that are pressed for time or where advertising time or trailers are limited to being about a minute long.
I learned something new about the DLC. Thank you. Now I will be able to easier find the Mechs i want for my team. I am still having one problem,,,,getting gauss weps and ammo is terrible! One time I got them as I thought I should and the rest of the games have been harder than pulling teeth to get them. Battlemaster with Bap and Countermeasures is sweet.
My friend in the year 3041 in the news it says that Gauss rifles become mass production with double heat sinks so keep playing. Also new models of battlemechs become available after some years like the wolfhound, Mauler and Hatamoto chi. And I almost forget to mention that it becomes easier to find higher technology weapons with the passing of time including pilots that can develop all their skills to 10 like the protagonist 😄
Broooo what if after the clan DLC, we get a battle of Turkyyid DLC, where we actually have to hold off the clans in lore accurate battlegrounds with 24+ mechs on the ground?
I will buy this dlc after beating campaign so it like a new game lol. Enjoy the shit out of it confused at me first. But once you understand the mechanics.
9:35 i also had times, when picking up salvage replenished some ammo on my mech. I had beachead operation and ran out of ammo on my lrm boat (no other weapons, only lurms). So while i was stumbling around and letting AI do the thing - picked up crate and got like extra 200 rockets. And my friend told me he repaired some armor when picked that up in our coop playthrough. But i cant confirm that one
im face palming.. i dint realize that the perks or upgrades from the cantina jobs was the ones I could put on the mechs... that's maybe why I'm struggling so much bcs the higher I go the more powerful enemies you encounter that also possibly also has this or other modifiers and such while we do not oof
@@andytaylor5282ep... I thought that once you got an upgrade all of your mechs would have it by default... Never thought I had to manually install them on each mech. 😂😂😂😂
Supply crates were in the base game as were Chem Lasers, operation mission view/mech view... and every weapon, Chem Laser and Rifle ammo was a dog to find but you would get the weapons all the time in missions. Laser-SB has always been in the game.... did you not find any as all? The biggest thing that kept me away from SB lasers is there is no ER variant (base game) there might be in the dlc, i havent made it that far
although i am happy to see this stuff...i feel like with the price tag of the game when it came out THIS should be in the base game, this is what we should have gotten to begin with.
Let's see if the old Battletech books will go back in print since there is a bit of a renewal for the series. But this game needs mods to fix the broken economy.
You need to addres the issue of not been able to see who is the employer and the opfor without the need of travelling to the star system. Lots of times I end up travelling to find that there are only contracts with factions I dont want to work with. Apart from that, the game is great🙂👍
It's not exact, but you can View Intel in the Starmap for each system, which tells you who offers which mission and which mechs are likely to be encountered by the OpFor.
If you mark the planets where you may want to go in the map and click on "View contracts" in the lower right corner of your screen, it will show you who the employers are, who do they want you to fight with and what kind of missions they are proposing. I know your comment is 1 year old, but just in case!
Great Summary! I do have a question which is quite disturbing is that when you have a lance with 3 additional Atlas for example, how can you tell which Atlas you are looking at is F2, F3 or F4 if they all have the same color skin?
Thing is... this would be better if you could stick things like ams and ecms into any hard point or something that remedies the fact that there's a handful of mechs that use them. This is one of my biggest criticisms along with the total lackluster of a.i commands and nav points. Clan weapons etc would be epic too. So much potential and it's almost there, that's what's so frustrating with it.
Agreed, lots of features in MW2 that really made that game amazing is entirely missing here in 5... It almost baffles me... MW5 is like half of MW2.... Just why?
@@dmaxwell910901 it's not delayed when they never gave us a specific date. They initially planned to release it as is, but decided to keep working on improvements. Hell, could release the mod myself RIGHT NOW if I wanted to. But if you knew exactly how it worked, you would be disappointed with how basic the ai is. Let them perfect art and release when ready.
@@TimberWulfIsHere I wouldn't be disappointed, I fully expect it to be simple as hell. I just really like the sense of scale infantry provides. I guess I kinda hope someone else does release it early, it'd just be a nice addition to the game. I more mean that the feature itself has been delayed so much. First it was delayed in December, along with the DLC. Then they pulled it out last minute to release it as a mod. Now this.
I guess one way to sum up MASC (to those that're unfamiliar) is that it allows the equipped mech to "Sprint", where fatigue would be harmful, literally. am I right?
Sad part is it was so much better than what you see now for pc then they made it look horrid for console, should have been 2 versions but you get what you put into the hobby I guess
Another thing to note about the Rifle weapons is that they are lighter than their AC counterpart (Light - AC2 Medium-AC5 Heavy-AC10) I typically use them to augment my alpha damage and for precision shots to deliver knock out shots to damaged mech sections I still think the Autocannons are better all round, but if you're not able to pack a heavier autocannon they get the job done
I love this game. I don’t know if it ever had bugs or other issues but as of now I think it’s beautifully made and very, very, very well designed and I’m downloading this expansion now. My only complaint, and it’s a huge one, is Ryana’s voice. I have never heard a voice actor with a northern London accent, I don’t think anyone has and I think that’s for a reason. I love all my fellow humans and Ryana’s actor is a better actor and speaker than I could ever be but some accents are extremely problematic for people from some areas. We were certain she was chosen by a team for whom English is a second language because I don’t think anyone else would choose a Northern accent for someone who is speaking to their players constantly. I’m hoping Ryana is on a well earned holiday during the career mode of this dlc or that I can choose a different crew?
Your 1 battle is one among millions going on at the same time across the inner sphere, it makes sense to me that there isnt a huge effect from missions
I thought I was getting news reports about my house's enemies struggling and their leaders getting fired etc. Not actual physical evidence of my effect on them but a token. Then there's my standing with everyone and that's... something.
@@Charodiy_UA I never played the game with them because i wasn't aware they were even in the game. It was apparently sometime after a larger update, pre inner-sphere DLC. Sorry it's not specific.
Hey man i dont know if you found any yet but there is a reddit thread where a guy found one in meachan(or however you spell it) and i found both of my 5a's in the industrial hub in the heart of kurita space its gonna cost like 27million though so prepare
I wonder if they actually fixed any of the pressing issues of the game mainly the enemy spawns, but I doubt it they probably just left it to the modders to fix it for them.
Is it possible we go through the heroes of inner sphere career mode first or kestrel DLC, then transfer your progress to the main story campaign of the original game?
