speaking of the virtual room, i'd LOVE to have one where you can visit ANY anime or cartoon, stay there as long as you want, and also, to make it fair for the thing, you have to follow the rules in that anime/cartoon. for example, if you pick to be a main character, things in that world would happen and adhere to you if you were a main character in the show, and stuff.

The only thing the sonic screwdriver can't repair is sonic himself. Also, if we have the gravity gun we don't need the teletransportation thingy (don't remember the name), we just have to sit on a couch, point the gravity gun on it and hold the trigger to get in the air, then maybe change a bit the angle and the point where we attract to descend safely wherever we want. Finally, if you had a replicator you could create all the other nine things.
A gravity gun or a sonic screwdriver would never be legally available to the public in the forms presented here... that would be an insanely bad idea. Also a replicator without gimped abilities would have the potential to utterly destroy the world economy by people cloning goods that form the backbone of a nation's economy. If a nation relies on exports they're completely fucked once everyone can simply buy something once and then replicate it endlessly. Or maybe a single product of any kind would become absurdly expensive since it would essentially like buying a lifetime supply. "Mom can we have something other than steak for dinner tonight? Tommy says his family has lasagna ..." "Sorry honey, but you know we're still saving up to get that new chicken dish that just came out. Just a few more months and we'll have two entire entrees!" I may be slightly over thinking this, but what else can you expect when I'm typing this at almost 4am.........

Well DoG Ster, I'm pretty sure the original Portal gun only worked on surfaces coated with moon minerals. But if one ignored that, and a portal were to open in your personal space. It would be...messy, I expect.
A pocket dimension similar to the one Jimmy Neutron had. Imagine going on vacation but you don't want to lug around all your stuff. Just throw it into a small box which contains its own pocket dimension and put that box in your pocket. Then with a press of a button you can recall an item.
What if there was a device used by police or medical personnel that could view a person's last memories before they died? Just hook it up to a person's head. It would help murder cases be solved or causes of death be diagnosed much quicker.

writerpatrick Gold would lose its value as much of it is derived from its relative scarcity and its use in computers etc would be unnecessary if technology had advanced to the point of replicators. You could swan around like a Mr T on steroids type character though.
I absolutely would love to see the point of view gun made up, hands down. That said, I wouldn't want to foolishly believe it would end wars, as just because it let's another person fully understand and comprehend another person's point of view, it does not (As far as taking the way it works in Hitchhiker's Guide) force a person to believe the other person's viewpoint is "right" , it just helps a person fully comprehend it. Still, one of my favorite phrases is, "You know what the best kind of gun in the universe is? The kind that shoots knowledge." . The holo-deck on the other hand would be immensely abused if it came into use by humanity these days.

actualy hololense isnt just "a simple taste of AR " well atleast not programwise but the hardwere itself is VERY limited in terms of FOV but it is 3d holographic display capble of displaying images with little to no screen door effect . the problem is the fov. they made it loook like its some sort of awsome device with huge FOV in the trailers but in reality its like looking at evrything thro a small window .
Realising that most of those cannot be performed with technology only since gadgets cannot perform miracles all the time even if some of those stuff exist in the future will be not affordable from the many.A really small example that doesn't reach the least all those mentioned above in the video we saw since it is something simple for today's tech stuff is the ssd drives.Though are not that complex like the old school drives meaning less money in developing they sell it twice the price,now think how much something that could exist close to the era we live will cost like a gravity gun or a freaking med-bay for instance in the far future.Those stuff would be only for the elite and not for the most people to own and can buy.
What about a brain chip where you could download information to your brain? I am pretty sure that a calculus class would be much better as a 5 minute download rather than a semester long class, and medical school requiring years of practice and education would be better as a hour long download. And if this is too unappealing for you, what about an upload application instead? An upload application would remove the need for digital cameras and would make creating RU-vid videos much easier (some editing required, of course). Also Facetime would be equivalent to telepathy with both applications, and would surely allow one to communicate with another globally as long as one is not in a dead zone. Finally, it may be possible to create an external memory hard drive for the brain chip, allowing important information to be easily retrieved if forgotten. I personally would prefer this as number one.
