He has multiple failsafes if he would be killed and the fact that he is able to keep all the dark hunters under his control really illustrates his raw power and fear people have for him.
He didnt exactly outlive. He is currently MIA after that virus event. The only reason he outlived as much as he did was because he pretty much did nothing noteworthy
Enel97 That’s wrong on all levels. Greg Farshtey confirmed TSO survived the whole Xia incident and is forming an army with the Barraki after Teridax’s death.
While I hated the Shadowed One for causing a war that led to the deaths of countless people, what truly landed him at the top of my blacklist was forcing the young Toa Varian to endure a fate worse than death all because he wanted a trophy. And that's what makes him one of the best villains in the franchise. "Luckily in stasis, you also won't be able to think."
I thought about mentioning that but I thought it was so minuscule compared to everything else he did that I didn't include it. But now I'm immediately regretting that. You're absolutely right. Forcing someone into what is pretty much eternal suffering is truly horrible.
@@TheShadowedOne1 That act alone inspired me to make him the nemesis of my own Toa team. Teridax is terrifying, yes, but you can still see him on the battlefield. It's quite a different game altogether when your enemy truly does sit by in the shadows.
@@jacobcoleman8250 It's the other way around Jacob. Teridax was always in the shadows, pulling everyone's strings. At least TSO actually went out to do his own dirty work when he set out to discover who killed Nidhiki and Krekka in Time Trap.
OMG I agree so much! this poor Toa fate is carved in my mind like crazy! and Norik don't even know what happened to her after she saved him that made the thing even worse
Varian didn't actually suffer. In stasis you cannot see, hear, feel, or think, which means she wasn't conscious enough to suffer in it. Still cruel because he basically ended her life in that moment but at least she was in permanent hibernation and not awake enough to feel her imprisonment, or suffering brutal torture. The Shadowed One likely has done way worse things to other people he captured.
In a way, the Element Lord of Earth is the whole reason the entire Bionicle Story even happened. Her actions caused the war, which led to the creation of the Matoran Universe, which in turn led to everything that happened in said Universe.
What about Tuyet, she murdered many matorans and blamed the Dark Hunters for it, stole the Nui stone and planned to rule over the universe as a dictator.
I mean who doesn't hate Teridax. But seriously Teridax is probably one of the best antagonists ever created: a true manipulating genius and a powerhouse as well
I thought you were going for the most hated disliked character from a fan perspective, not from a story perspective. Not like the characters people loved because they were made to hate, like Teridax and The Shadowed One, but I mean the characters people couldn't enjoy!
For a second I thought you said "top 10 WHITEST Bionicle characters" haha all I could think was a list of white Toa and someone going "well.. This dude has more white pieces than this dude.."
The Piraka co-exist in symbiotic relationship of hatred. Hating each other gives them power over one another, but this same hatred also stops any one from becoming too powerful. It's a delicate balance.
You are really good at finding clips and pictures that illustrate what you're talking about throughout the video! Makes it look like all the events you mention were depicted visually and officially during Bionicle's run, when really, only a handful were.
Don't forget that Takadox got away with EVERYTHING. Betraying the Barraki, betraying the Federation of Fear, murdering Hydraxon, abandoning Toa on an island filled with spiders, and he ends up completely free in the end.
This just taught me a new piece of lore that completely upset a book I’m writing. A major plot point is that Metus is will a snake during the book. I might just pull a Brutaka and say that this starts out in a parallel timeline but I’ll see.
So, I'm not sure how relevant this is, but nobody ever seems to talk about it at all. The robot Mata Nui inhabits to fight his original body hosted by Teridax, was the failed Tren-Krom robot. Just thought that was an interesting little tidbit.
THANK YOU for showing a picture of Nidihki with the Kualsi! I know he canonically wore a Volitak, but the Kualsi shape was originally gonna be his anyway and it was so obvious considering it's similarities to his mutated head shape. Plus, Norik introduced the concept of masks being carved but given other powers not associated with their shape
My personal most-hated character is definitely Gorast. The biggest kiss-up to Teridax, and she could've actually done something good if she didn't kill Krika after he revealed the truth to her. Honestly, serves her right.
Lego man: Bionicle, I forget that your also lego. Bionicle: !!how!!....were both like super complicated to build, and can murder anyone's foot if they step on us, but still fun to play with. Mega blocks man: wait your one of us? Duplo guy & Hero factory: hey guys can we be considered Lego fun too? Lego man: Leave!
Of the Piraka, Hakann is easily the most despicable in that he lives up to his title as "the Bully"; that's why it's always satisfying to see Zaktann remind him who's in charge, even if it never sticks.
I also wanted to add another thing on The Shadowed One's list of evil acts. He and Ancient killed and drove off all of Odina's original sentient inhabitants after he saw the potential in using the island as the home base for the Dark Hunters The Shadowed One was feared and hated by his own Dark Hunters yes. But you have to admit the guy has some creativity to him as well as a form of insurance that he'd never become soft in the form of the Dark Hunter Darkness. Another thing that The Shadowed One did was having no hesitation whatsoever in killing Ancient, more or less the closest thing he had to a friend and someone he had genuinely respected. JUST so he could keep the Makuta viruses a secret. Not that it did much good anyway considering the Barraki revealed that they had known about those viruses the whole time and that in his attempt to use them later on probably threw the secrecy out the window
I actually like Takadox, his set was one of my favorites and his personality was interesting. Teradax being number one doesnt surprise me in the least.
Dr Bright Heh, even the SCP Foundation has its BIONICLE fans. I guess the Living LEGO makes telling the legend as easy as getting all the sets, MOCs, and combo models built and exposing them. Then again, there is the problem of containing a roughly 5,555,555.555... foot tall robot if one is using the 2008-2009 scale, as all Toa are roughly 7.2 feet tall in-universe. Not to mention that would mean Earth would still be smaller than the scaled-down Bara/Spherus Magna. Real talk, though: Would you consider the Onu-Metru Archives to be the first SCP Foundation-like "organization" in popular/geek culture based on the concepts involved? • Secure Rahi and artifacts. / Secure anomalous creatures, entities, and objects. • Contain them in Stasis Tubes or storage closets or, if too dangerous, the sub-levels. / Contain them in specialized containment chambers and follow procedures. • Protect the Matoran of Metru Nui from the dangerous creatures and objects and the creatures from extinction: If a breakout were to occur, it would be a disaster. / Protect the populace from anomalies and the anomalies from the populace: If a containment breach were to occur, it would be a disaster. Yes, there has been the concept of keeping things in a containment facility before BIONICLE, but for the sheer variety and quantity of creatures and objects, the Archives might as well be the first version of the SCP Foundation in geek culture. Plus, both are protected by intricate entrance security systems and go extensively underground. The only thing missing from the Onu-Metru Archives? The equivalent of D-Class. Just wondering what your thoughts are on the subject. ;-)
@@psquiddy0627 I can't cheat facts. I do a lot of research. I ain't cheating the number 1 pick just because I want to. This is for the fans and fans decide.
Your next Top-10 list should be top "unseen" characters. The characters that have a fairly large part in the story, but have no sets, or official illustrations.
Since the glatorian are more flesh than they are metal (The inverse of toa biology), I’m sitting here wondering how horrific an actual metus viper would look if properly conveyed as a person.
Teridax, despite his status as _the_ Big Bad from the get-go, began to garner my ire when, upon losing to Takanuva after their kohli duel, hadn't the decency to honor his word and claim to be 'protecting' Mata Nui.
It has to be Teridax, because not only is he hated by the whole of the matoran universe, but also the people of Bara manga. No other character has that distinction
At this point you should make a top 10 video of your many top 10 videos were Teridax made the number one spot. It’s probably possible to do that by now.
Top 10 popular and geek culture things BIONICLE did first. For instance, one could consider the Archives to be the OG SCP Foundation based on the concepts involved: • Secure Rahi and artifacts. Yes, there has been the concept of keeping things in a containment facility before BIONICLE, but for the sheer variety of creatures and objects, the Archives might as well be the first version of the SCP Foundation in geek culture. Plus, both are protected by intricate entrance security systems and go extensively underground. Need I say more?
Roodaka is my favorite one: she is evil, but not for a reason than SHE WANNA BE EVIL BECAUSE SHE ENJOYS IT!!.... I loved her performance in the thirth movie
I honestly think a toa/glatorian team of six featuring Ahkmou, Metus, Takadox, Zaktan, and Roodaka along with either a new original character with the power of fire or the poisoned Tahu from mask of light (but taken from say an alternate timeline/dimension where he never recovered) would make for an interesting team of evil, traitorous, and hated beings. There main goals would be as follows, give toa and glatorian a bad name, getting back at the shadowed one, seeking revenge against those that turned on them, and to honor makuta teridax in some way by trying to do what he couldn't.
If G1 had continued, The Shadowed One would have been an amazing big bad post-Teridax. Makuta was a great Cosmic Level threat, but the Shadowed One could have easily filled that void Teridax' defeat left behind (and easily recognizable for fans who explored the auxiliary Bionicle media). I first heard of him through the 2007 Bionicle Encyclopedia (updated up to the Mahri/Barraki arc), and the Shadowed One's name appeared quite a few times.
THIS. Exactly. I would have loved to have seen The Shadowed One become this Godfather-like villain where it doesn't matter how powerful he actually is, but how powerful he is with words. How he can sway even beings like Skrall and Bone Hunters to his side who don't even know who he is. TSO would have been the perfect villain for G1 to continue from. Why else would Greg have kept him alive if not for that purpose?
@@TheShadowedOne1 Indeed, and the Dark Hunters were notably absent from the central conflict. I didn't read all the media from that time, but I know that the Brotherhood of Makuta was pretty much wiped out, and Teridax' armies mostly consisted of Skakdi, Rahkshi, and Skrall. But I don't remember reading up on the fates of the Dark Hunters in the aftermath. I would have loved to see where Greg was going with these characters.
Top 10 scarier, top 10 hated, , top 10 treacherous… You're covering only bad guys (which nevertheless you're doing awesome)! Maybe now time for top 10 noble characters?
Karol Zzięba It’s not on purpose! Everyone keeps wanting me to do certain topics! But it’s not my fault that my research always puts villains in them! But I agree. It’s time to do a heroes only Top 10. - TSO1
Take Ahkmou, add a bit of Ko-Matoran, add a bit of Agori, and you've got Metus. Roodaka's treachery was so well-known, her name became a slang term for treason.
Nidhiki was disliked by Toa and Dark Hunters alike, except Lariska. Am I the only one surprised that Lariska actually became his friend even after the failure to capture Metru Nui was due to a slight oversight on Nidhiki's part, and Lariska was severely punished for? I'm just saying it's rather interesting that Lariska and Nidhiki became close friends, enough for Lariska to warn Nidhiki of Roodaka and would later on flee back to the fortress because she couldn't handle watching Nidhiki's punishment by mutation
It's one of the many reasons I love Nidhiki. He truly is a tragic character and it makes me sad that Lariska was perhaps his only friend in the universe (as they made the deal together and failed together. They met as enemies on the battlefield during the Toa-Dark Hunter War and became friends after their defeat together) so his death actually meant something to her. I actually asked Greg Farshtey on the Lego Message Boards before they went down about that. I'll post what I wrote to him. -ME- 8. In Birth of a Dark Hunter, Lariska was obviously using Nidhiki for her purposes but later they became close allies when he was a Dark Hunter as a Toa. Did that friendship remain after he was transformed? -GF- 8) Yes
@@TheShadowedOne1 Oh wow so even after his mutation, they were still friends? Now that's actually rather nice. If romance was a canonical thing in Bionicle...I'd pretty much ship the two haha. Regardless it's nice that their friendship remained
I've been writing a fan-fic that involves roodaka (And Tuma because reasons). I actually didn't know she was still alive until I recently checked the wiki
A few things: 1) I thought comprises of characters fans hate on their traits or story arc, I almost expected the Toa Metru, except for Vakama, on this list or even Kiina or Raanu 2) You had to add your favourite character (The Shadowed One) on this list 3) I knew Teridax was Number 1
The shadowed one is a truly hated character. Just because he likes the character doesn’t mean that he doesn’t deserve to be on the list... since he does. The shadowed one is the last true mainstream villain character alive.
Makuta Teridax is like Thanos: one of the few villains in any franchise who actually succeeds in winning until the final endgame battle. I guess that makes Mata Nui the Iron Man of Bionicle?
My most hated isn’t so much one of the figures, but certain parts. I forget what they were called, but the series was the underwater one, and all of the pieces that were bright green. I don’t know why, but they seemed to break constantly, and easily. Maybe whatever color agent they used didn’t mix well with the plastic.
PS this video finalizes its caption saying "To Be Continued" instead of "The End", first Spider-Man Far From Home, the final film of MLAU (Marvel Live-Action Universe) phase three, ends with a cliffhanger to phase four now this!
What about Voporak? He could make anyone and anything that got close enough to him age rapidly. I recall reading if you took a large rock and threw it at him, it would age into dust before it could hit him.
gotta give credit to the writers for making the villains hated and the heroes beloved. I mean nobody really hates any of the good guys. that's special for a lego line. I personally only really dislike takadox, akhmou, roodaka and the golden being.
