12 Angry Men is my favourite film of all time, I love it in every aspect, I love analysing every scene, it’s actually my birthday and on my birthday me and my dad always watch it. It’s so simple yet so powerful! The only other film i’ve watched with Henry Fonda is my Lady Eve which id amazing mainly due to Barbara Stanwyck haha😂 Great video!
I love Fonda. I believe I have more films of his in my collection than any other actor or actress. So many great classics. My top ten: 1) Once Upon A Time In The West 2) The Grapes Of Wrath 3) My Darling Clementine 4) 12 Angry Men 5) On Golden Pond 6) The Tin Star 7) Sometimes A Great Notion 8) The Ox-Bow Incident 9) Young Mr Lincoln 10) Fail-Safe
Amazing list! I have Sometimes a Great Notion on the watchlist! Have seen all your other movies listed and agree they're amazing! Glad to see some love for The Tin Star. Not as big of a fan of On Golden Pond as most, but don't think it's bad by any means. It sits right around the 20 spot on my top 26, but I still have it at a 7/10. Have you seen Advise & Consent?
@maplestreetmovies I have, it's very good, albeit not among my most interested in of subject-matters. You'll love Sometimes A Great Notion it's a great character piece. It has one of the best albeit most heartbreaking scenes in 70s film imo too which is no mean feat in that incredible decade of film.
Henry Fonda was one of the undisputable greats in the history of cinema. His range knew no bounds, and his naturalism made it feel as though he was not acting at all. While he was capable of portraying a terrifying villain like he did in "Once Upon a Time in the West", we have all come to know him as the noble everyman. From comedies such as "Mister Roberts" to dramas such as "12 Angry Men", Hank's warm smile, reassuring demeanor, and his commanding yet comforting presence made him feel like a very dear friend, even to those who were seeing him for the first time. From his determination to provide for his family in "The Grapes of Wrath" to his struggles with his own morality in "12 Angry Men" to the salvation of his relationship with his daughter in "On Golden Pond", Hank portrayed the human experience in a way that audiences will always empathize with him for. For those reasons, Hank was not only one of the greatest actors of all time but a beacon of humanity and hope in the pantheon of cinema and an inspiring embodiment of the human spirit.
,The Ox-Bow Incident' is my favourite and of course ,12 angry men' and ,The tin star' That's not surprising I think I also love ,Drums along the Mohawk' which is perhabs a sort of a random pick Get well soon and all the best from Germany my friend 🙋
It is from 1939 and directed by John Ford, as a kid it scared me to death 😮 so it's nostalgic for me and I still like it well, although the way the native americans are shown in this old movies are scandalous in our eyes! But it has a good story, brillant actors and it's visualy gorgeous👍 By the way: I also like ,Jesse James' also from 1939, but I like Fritz Langs' sequel, The return of Frank James' even more
Great video. I'm surprised "The Wrong Man" isn't on your list, because you're such a big Hitchcock fan. My list: 1."Twelve Angry Man". 2."Fail safe". 3."The Grapes of Wrath". 4. "The Longest Day". 5. "Lady Eve". 6. "The Wrong Man". 7. "The Tin Star". 8. "The Ox-Bow Incident". 9. "Advice & Consent". 10. "On the Golden Pound".
Right?? I was hoping to rewatch it before filming but ran out of time. I plan to rewatch later this year and will let you know if my top 10 changes. Great ranking! Glad to see another fan of Advise&Consent!
Great video! My favorite is Once Upon a Time in the West. I just really enjoy Hank as this horrible bottom of the barrel evil villain. My Name is Nobody is another spaghetti western he starred in. It’s very different from Once Upon a Time in the West in that it’s very silly and humorous.
