I can imagine Star-Lord launching an all-out attack on Walt Disney World because his favorite attractions were destroyed, including Disney literally slamming an attraction starring him on one of them.
I was at Epcot for the first time in twenty years in April of this year (first time in 1993), and seeing the icons back in the park made my inner child’s heart sing.
I went recently and it's my new favorite ride. I was the exact same way - I first rode in the back and was very dizzy and slightly sick afterward, but the second time I was in the second seat and didn't feel anything at all. This is definitely one of my new favorite rides. Disney did a great job with this one.
@@TPMvids when i got September in my first time riding it, i was super happy i got it that i even danced through the whole ride in last row😂 it was incredible:D
Was definitely a great choice. Family and I have been having fun brainstorming other songs that might've worked. I heard "Everybody Wants To Rule The World" was a song possibility too. I kinda scratched my head at that. That song does have a pretty good beat, but it's definitely a little too mellow for a roller coaster.
I actually returned from Disney World a week ago and was able to snag 3 rides on it. I'm a huge sucker for roller coasters, and it quickly became my favorite ride; loads of ejector airtime and helixes. My parents still preferred Rise of the Resistance due to its immersion and storytelling. Oh yea, and I got "September," "I Ran," and "One Way Or Another" as my soundtracks.
During preview there was an error that could occur that would make the car lock backwards and not move. If you got stuck at the beginning and didnt launch, the cars would stay backwards the ENTIRE ride, so no moving or spinning. It made a 7/10 intensity go to an easy 10/10. I had to use the valsalva maneuver to keep blood in my head from that last helix lol
The model of a city in the queue has some former attraction buildings hidden amongst the others so if you’re stuck in line see which ones look familiar
8:46 this is my favorite ever reference to a past attraction, it’s put in so perfectly that people who don’t know the song won’t be confused and think it’s just a random music riff, while true fans will easily notice it
I recently rode this coaster a week ago and I loved it I saw a lot of the universe of energy and Epcot references as well as some of the ones u mentioned surprised me!!! I recently was doing a lot of research about the coaster and I did find out that the roller coasters top speed is 40 mph and the speed feels faster due to the fact that it’s in the dark, the further u go into the layout the stars spin faster, there are also 50 mph wind machines in the building, and also some of the songs help depending on the pacing of the song because I heard reviews about the “everybody wants to rule the world” song and how the pacing of the ride can feel a little slower since it is a slower paced song but yeah ultimately Disney knocked this coaster out of the park (no pun intended) with Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind⏮
I’ve got to ride it twice, and I can’t describe it in words because it’s so good, personally I think Conga fits best because it makes the ride seem faster paced, and sitting at the back also makes it feel more thrilling.
Thanks for the awesome video. It's so cool to learn about all those easter eggs and tributes. We had a group of 5 people get to ride during May previews, and GotG is an absolutely awesome addition to Epcot, and WDW. Amazing attraction from queue to exit.
Easily the best ride in any Disney park in my opinion!! It’s just unmatched, so smooth and immersive. Going around the moon, the soundtrack, the backward launch. Just the perfect ride!
I just can’t believe that me and my family got to go on Guardians of the galaxy on my birthday!! We are Disney world pass holders so we got early access to the ride witch was really exciting. When my mom got the tickets to the ride we got to go on May 20th even tho my birthday is may 19 but other than that it was a blast I have to say Guardians is a really fun and exciting ride. I am very very grateful to be able to experience this. Would ride again. 😁😁
My daughter found a hidden Mickey on the moon during the roller coaster part of the attraction. The second time we went on I was sure to pay attention and it is clearly a Mickey. You go by fast so look close!
Me and my family were lucky to get a chance to ride. We sadly didn’t get to experience the full queue since we got the lightning lane. Hopefully the next time we go to Epcot they will drop the virtual queue for the ride. Other than that downside the ride was a pretty fun blast. Me and my family were jamming out to “One Way or Another” during the ride and after we got off.
8:47 HANDS DOWN MY FAVORITE EASTER EGG OF THE RIDE!!! After my first time I've had the habit of actually singing the lyrics to Universe of Energy but now I wish that could actually release the full version of the song.
I was so excited to see you did a video on this!!! It's become my new favorite ride at Disney World. I've rode it several times now and have been looking for little easter eggs. This video has helped me find so many more than I have on my own. Thank you
This ride make my nostalgia come rushing back, we’ve had a sudden gotg burst of content in these last few months, and this ride is one of 3, the ride, the holiday special, and the 3rd, and final movie. And since the last 2 didn’t well… screw up, I think that the movie is gonna be fabulous and fantastic, a little soul crushing maybe.
i am a huge disney fan but when i went to disneyland when i was a kid, i never saw the hidden mickey's. i do love the rides and the food places they have there. i would love to go back to disneyland and live there. if i had the money too =(
Fun fact about Hidden Mickeys: in the moblie Disney game Twisted Wonderland, yoi can find a Hidden Mickey in litterally every background. If you like finding Hidden Mickeys, I would totally recomend it!
When I went there earlier in June, almost 2 weeks after it opened, we had the chance to ride it twice. I have illegal musical footage of it. You can hear lots of wind tho. It’s amazing. I can’t spoil too much about it.
Im lucky enough to be there opening day because i started summer break on the 26th got reservations for walt disney world and a trip for wdw for a celebration for summer break i got to ride this ride it was amazing
OK - i rode it three times last week - everytime in the back car. Not intentionally - just worked out that way. My favorite row in is row 9 - which makes it the front seat for an integral moment in the ride. My family and I LOVE this ride. I am of the mindset that if you remove a fantastic and well-loved attraction, what you replace it with better be good. Mission Space? Not so much. Cosmic Rewind? 100%. One note: we didn't find the motion of the coaster to be disorienting at all. I would describe the cars as "turning" or "rotating" as opposed to "spinning". Spinning is what the Teacups do or Primeval Whirl used to do. And btw - our three songs were September, Disco Inferno, and Conga.
I’m going to Disney is July this year and my mom said she is gonna try and get us on this ride! We are going to Epcot twice on on our trip so if we don’t get to the first time hopefully we get to the second.
I consider the whole "going back to the big bang" part of the plot to be a macro-scale Easter egg, since at least the Ellen version of Universe of Energy also started by going back to the big bang... Also, the stairs on the exit are terrible, I sure hope they have a ramp hidden in there. That aside, Cosmic Rewind is a really great ride, lots of fun.
I wish they would’ve included a little tribute to Alex Trebek somewhere in the queue, since he played himself in Ellen’s Energy Adventure and died before Cosmic Rewind opened 😢
My girlfriend and I rode it just a few days ago and we both were almost down for the count for the rest of the day. We ended up sitting on the curb outside Treasures of Xander for a good half hour afterwards just trying not to throw up, and the wild thing was that we sat in the very front. We’re FAR from coaster people though and mostly rode it for the Guardians brand 🤷♂️ Even though we mutually agreed once was enough we don’t regret going on it and the theming/Treasures of Xandar store afterwards are a ton of fun!
One small secret I've thought about is.... I'm thinking they picked Eson as the big baddie because of the original sponsor of Energy, Exxon. If you pronounce it as Esson, there you go. Now, I haven't heard anything from Disney or Marvel confirming this, but it sounds like a perfectly logical thought.
According to a cast member working outside the ride (photo pass photographer) told our family that the song has 8 different songs for the ride, instead of 6
Just got back from Disney, and managed to somehow ride this 5 times, getting everybody wants to rule the world 3 times. By far the best ride in Disney!
Omg I remember the turkey legs when I went to color world Disneyland, they were huge maybe because I was still a kid but my parents bought two and we bearly could finish the first turkey leg and my parents regret on buying a 2 somone and they threw it away because they didn't want to carry it all day
There's another Ellen's Energy Adventure reference in the loading area - apparently the pipes are labeled with "Ellen" and "Alex" or something like that
