8x20 "Look around Ted, you're all alone" That scene was the most touching of the show in my opinion. Ted had spent his life searching for his twin soul, and while he was the one who always searched for it he was also the only one of his group of friends who had not yet found it yet. That was so sad
I was re-watching HIMYT, and I realise that we find out the mothers name in S1 E9, when the stripper introduces herself as Tracy and Ted jokingly states that that was how he met the mother.
Right! Right!! (in Ted style) ....I have rewatched HIMYM so many times now I've even lost the count and everytime I rewatch it, I discover so many things for e.g. "thermos" joke about Ted which Barney brings up in one of the earlier seasons is revealed by Robin in the last season when she is talking to Lily
My favorite is the ending of season 3! Where Ted gets into the car accident and Barney is in this important meeting. As soon as he hears Ted's in the hospital he hangs up the phone, turns to the meeting, says "I'm sorry, but my best friend is in trouble" and goes off to find him! (Only to get into his own car accident and then find out he's in love with Robin!!) Like what bromane and romance, this episode had me in years! What more can you ask for!!!!!
When I first started watching himym, I’d never thought that I would love this show this much. I could have my heart broken by that cruel ending a million times and still love it.
My favorite HIMYM moment is when Loretta gives Barney the opportunity to figure out who his dad was but then he realizes that he didn't need a dad and all he needed was her
No no they didn’t they have several videos of basically the same thing and they all include several of the same scenes. The doppelgängers are in a couple of their other videos of funny HIMYM scenes.
Everytime i listen to The Mother singing La Vie En Rose.. i get goosebumps.. even now.. and when i watched it for first time, my eyes welled up.. i m in love with this series.. so funny and emotional at times.. i miss it..☺
"How your mother met me" should be number 1. It perfectly showcased the shows ability to blend humour and emotion. Plus "The time travellers" deserves to be on here too.
Jaden Batzel not really, she moved in cali with tony and her family is back in one piece. shes living the moment while ted is a push over. oh, she even allowed the makings of the 'wedding bride'
Isabella Roberts I wouldn’t go with that since that’s not the barney we know. Maybe the first episode could be him as a hippy and changing into the suit barney. It should show him try to hit on schools and come up with the play book
I love the season 4 finale, "The leap". That episode is so significant and mean so much for me, personaly. The metaphorical leap, the way Ted is attached to a designed plan and how he frees himself from a path of misery is awesomely portrayed. I'll always remember it.
The ending of How I Met Your Mother is heartbreaking TBH. They built up the relationship of Robin and Barney and then in the end it was shattered just like that. Plus I never really saw Ted with Robin. It was too obvious and the mother dying? Really? I'm sorry but I watched the last episode a while ago and it still breaks my heart when I watch the proposal and then watch the divorce I just can't. Barney already had so many things go wrong in his life why couldn't he and Robin have stayed together😑
Laura Bott HIMYM didn't get to express the finale how they wanted to. No one really understood the finale. Look up HIMYM defending the ending, and you'll understand why it was made the way it was. However I did find it completely idiotic on how they spent the whole season 9 on Barney and Robin's wedding, just to end it in 2 minutes of the final episode
I figured they where going to do it, but I didn't want them too. I think if it wasn't for the fact they already filmed the part with the kids and had no choice they would have backed out.
Darth Maitland Really? That's one of the worst episodes, it felt totally out of character for Marshall and Lily and not something they should make something 'funny' of. All the answers from Barney, Ted and Robin were all generic for and way over the top for their character. It's dragged out too long and as a whole just not a good episode
My favorite moments (in no particular order)(emotional and happy): 1: The Mother singing La Vie En Rose 2: Marshall's father death 3: "Ted, you're all alone"-sequence 4: Teds and Barneys singing For The Longest Time 5: The 2-minute date with Stella 6: Ted cheering up Robin with "Highway To Hell"-Christmas 7: Barneys proposal 8: Let's Go To The Mall!! 9: Barney and Robin dancing to "I Couldn't Ask For Another" (forgot the actual name) 10: The demolition of The Arcadian 11: When Ted convinces Barney that the wedding suit, is THE suit 12: Barney freaking out that the gang is back together in the final episode 13: Barney yelling to his dad: 'If you were gonna be some lame suburban dad, why couldn't you have been that for me?' 14: James meeting his actual father 15: Ted yelling at Stella, after she left Ted at the alter (never actually happened) 16: The transformation of Hippie-Barney into Suit-Barney 17: Barneys video-resumé 18: Barney working together with the FBI 19: When Ted and Marshall were super stoned at that concert 20: Ted saying to Barney: 'I don't want to be friends anymore' And many, many more
#1 is Slap Bet, calling it. That episode was perfect in every way, with the start of the slap bet and Marshall's 5 eternal slaps and the discovery of Robin Sparkles. That episode will never get old.
You forgot the best episode: S8 E20. That episode was so genius and really sad. It just shows how much Ted loves his wife and the episode where the mother says that it must be hard when your own mother doesn't show up at your wedding and he can't refuse to cry, because he knows that she won't be able to be at the wedding of her own daughter. The chemistry between them was perfect, before they fucked it up. Why does it have to be Ted and Robin? Why would they use up a whole season for Barney and Robins Wedding, if they were going to divorce them? And how they just turned Barney back to an playboy and shoved Marshals and Lilys relation in the background. The beach scene where Ted and Robin let each other go was nonsense too, it just doesn't make any sense at the end. And I'm really pissed off that Ted and Robin get together, because Robin is a manipulative bitch like Rachel from FRIENDS. The show was genius but they fucked it up at the end.
I was so upset and angry when it was revieled that the mother would be killed off, like seriously? Why can't he have his happy ending. I wasn't a fan of Robin and Barney though, I knew they were doomed from the start.
I hated Rachel from Friends but i loved Robin. Instead i hate Lily she just mingles in everyones personal life and she thinks shes always right and always gives life lessons
Fuck no. Barney's character lost almost all his awesomeness with all that love stuff. I could barely watch them destroy his character in that dysfunctional relationship.
"Hi, I'm Ted Mosby. And in exactly 45 days you and I are gonna meet and we're gonna fall in love and get married and have two kids. And we're gonna love them and each other so much."
+Michael the Magician I cried and cried at the final episode. And was like why did they have the mother past away after we watched every episode to get to her? And I was wanting Barney and Robin to get back together again after they broke up in season 3. I was happy when they got married, then sad when they got a divorce and Barney went back to his ways. But after watching all 9 seasons 2 more times on Netflix. I see why they did that. Ted and Robin were the couple that truly loved each other. I'm not saying Ted and his late wife didn't love each other. But its a story. Ted loved Robin but she didn't want kids or can have them. And Ted wanted kids. So in the end, Ted got the kids he wanted, and as we can guess from the final scene when his kids tell him to go after Robin and that they loved her, that they ended up together. And some of my fav episodes are in season 2 when Lily came back from her art painting school begging Marshall to take her back, and him saying no. Then the next few episodes after that, that leads up to the crazy eyes episode, where they got back together and Barney gets the name Swarley. lol
+Jason Miller Yea rewatching it all at once really makes the whole ending far more plausible. I still think they could have done a better job on the last season as a buildup but it works well enough. Not perfect but it was true to the characters.
Pinklewilly Yeah, you can for sure see it when you rewatch them all. Its all about how Ted loved Robin. I guess they made the 9th season within like 3 months or so. I didn't like how they spent pretty much the whole season on Barney's and Robin's wedding, only to have them get a divorce in the next episode.
Yes. You are literally the only person I have ever seen who's expressed anything other than hatred for the finale. Personally, I think it takes what was a fantastic 9 year build up to one of the best love stories ever and burns to the ground while pissing blood on it.
+Lee Brockway Liked? I wouldn't go that far... hated? absolutely not. I felt it made sense... all things considered. I just feel that it if it destroyed anything.. it was the final season.. not the series as a whole.
I liked it. There was a deleted scene on the DVD that definetely shouldn't have been deleted that makes it make much more sense. You can tell that robin wants another chance with Ted but now he's happy and she's not instead of the other way around. It also shows that Ted still has feelings for robin but he is happy with tracy. If you haven't seen it look it up, it's great. Whoever decided it should be deleted needs to be fired.
+Jason Gregory Which ep was it where Barney did that deliberately annoying three hour play where he said 'Moist' over and over to drive Lily nuts? I always loved that one.
The only 2 things I completely hate about HIMYM is that Barney and Robin got divorced and that the mother died. Imagine how awesome it'd be if Robin DID get pregnant, and that made her believe in miracles.
The only thing that lost me was the episode when Barney starts singing at the end. Correct me if I'm wrong, but how many straight men (other than Ted Mosby) spontaneously burst into song on the street?
headlessguy98 I really disliked the ending! Those who like it say it was real, but who really wants real in a tv comedy!!! I just substitute the alternate ending for being the real one. It leaves more to the imagination
I was about to like this comment but its on 69 and I cant do this to you . Please nobody anymore like this comment it is the best way to honor the perfect week
My top 5: 5. Tick tick tick (i hated robin from this point on) 4. The final page 3. The finale with the alternative ending 2. Desperation Day 1. How your mother met me
Ok but my favorite episode ever was "drumrolls, please" , s01e13 when Ted meets Victoria. The whole story was just amazing even if I don't ship them that hard >< still a really good top!
I found the ending such an anticlimax. It was so sad that they made us fall in love with the mother only to have her cruelly taken away from us! If people like it that's fine, I see their points but to me the final episode never happened! I've blocked it out totally.
How I Met Your Mother shows that it’s all in the chase. It’s not about what we find, it’s how we find it. All 9 seasons filled with the adventures of the squad, then for a nutrition break of the show the mother is shown. Plus it got sad as shit and the ending was beyond rushed. Maybe oh maybe it was on purpose. The thrill is in the chase; the thrill is what we live for.
1) three days of snow 2) how your mother met me 3) girls vs suits 4) the playbook 5) ten sessions 6) slapsgiving 7) the final page 2 8) intervention 9) best burger in new york 10) cupcake All these episodes are just a hint of why this show is so memorable, 5 years later, even with such a controversial finale. I’ll always love this show no matter what
JER How I met Everyone Else is the story of how the gang came to be...I was confusing it with 'How your Mother Met Me' which was the show's 200th episode, and showed the journey of Tracy from the time of the pilot episode up until the night that Ted hears her singing the English version of La Vie En Rose
I haven't ever cried as much bc of a series as a did when I watched "How Your Mother Met Me". The whole episode made me cry, laugh and gave me all the feels. In my opinion, this episode is one of the best episodes to be aired on TV.
my top 3 how I met your mother episodes 3. the hot , crazy scale one 2. the one where ted gose to a movie and the movie is based on him 1. when ted get the crazy girlfriend in season 8
+Thomas Carpenter hey guys do you remember the how I met your dad episode of Robin and barnei, and that finally when Robin say she can't have kids);, do you know the name of that episode?
+Alejandra Montoya I thought they were a terrible couple. It was totally weird that Robin hang around with her new lover... and her ex at the same time, as well.
My favourites not on the list are The Time Travelers and No Pressure. Probably the only two episodes I properly welled up in apart from Bad News and of course Last Forever
+Julie Schwartz season 8, "Future versions of Ted and Barney try to convince Ted to go see Robots Versus Wrestlers. Meanwhile, Marshall challenges Robin to a dance-off." Also known for the Minnesota Tidal Wave thing. Most of the episode is really light hearted and funny but the feels train goes from 0-100 real quick
