Death Revan was so angry and wanted to destroy vitiate that he willed himself back to life. Well, apparently he was also so angry at Star Wars episodes 7-9 that he willed himself into cannon so he could destroy them too.
I've studied Revan's journey throughout my time as a jedi, I find some of his force powers fascinating and could agree with him on how some parts of the jedi code are wrong.
imagine a new trilogy in the old republic era.with revan as main character, being a heroic jedi in the first two films played by keanu reeves and then becoming darth revan in the final movie.
That would be super cool, but I think Disney would neuter revan (and HK-47, and Canderous, and Mandalore) if Disney loses the right to Star Wars, it would be cool tho
@@Hic_Sunt_Leones-o7v If they want to redeem him, he can't go overboard as Sith. If he does too much evil, then redeeming him is pointless cause at that point he doesnt need redemption, he needs death
5:25 Sidious vs. Vitiate "I've died before" vs "Immortal" *The Theory side of the force is a pathway to many animations, some consider to be... inconceivable, too cool for words*
Maybe... but Vitiate was destroyed by the ghosts of Revan, Meetra, and by the Hero of Tython/Outlander. This expansion in SWTOR was made as a response to Episode IX, though I think that SWTOR handled Vitiate's return much better than Disney did with Palpatine.
I love the thumbnail. If they ever do a live action movie featuring Revan, I want Keanu Reeves to play him. It seems to fit him so well and it would be badass.
Revan is probably my favorite character in all of Star Wars. When I was younger, I came up with a character for myself in Star Wars, who was a grand-descendant of Revan, during the Clone Wars. He was apprenticed to Obi-Wan during the Clone Wars, ended up surviving Order 66, and helped as a member of Fulcrum during the time of the Rebellion. He also piloted the Ebon Hawk, which had come into his family's possession sometime after it's abandonment on Dromund Kaas during the ending events of the Revan novel, and had been passed down through generations, along with Revan's lightsaber.
Obi-Wan: "Anakin, Chancellor Palpatine is evil!" Anakin: "From my point of view, the Jedi are evil!" Darth Bane: "Guys guys, I installed the rule of 2 for a reason." Darth Vitiate: "Sorry for what I did on Nathema... Not."
I swear if we get a Darth Revan movie and he is played by Keanu Reeves, instantly my favorite Star Wars movie without even seeing a trailer for the movie
@@maciekkowalczyk1366 also darth tyranus is so underrated, he was unlike any other Force user and was also very cool because he was very civilised in his attacks
The cool thing with Revan is that you can do Knights of the Old Republic like the Lucas years. You could do the Movies of Revan after being captured discovering who he is then do the prequal movies of what happened during the Mandalorian Wars!
If they make a revan movie, I guess they really have to have Reeves play him. Because I know a bunch of people are going to get their hopes up and have them dashed if they saw that someone else was playing revan. xD
Hell yes, Vitiate all the way! His character was kinda destroyed in KOTFE/KOTET, but still loved the vibes and voice acting of both VAs. And man oh man, the sheer power!
Good video, but I wanted to point out some of the points you brought up. The "Outlander" wasn't given that name until he/she "invaded" Zakuul (Prince Arcann's words). Only Zakuulans referred to the individual as the Outlander. In the game, Republic or Empire participated and were mostly referred to by their specific class or Commander. The term Outlander was used well after the defeat of Revan at the Temple of Sacrifice. Also, since the Jedi Knight defeated Vitiate as the one that Lord Scourge had a vision of and is the reason Revan was betrayed by him.
If they were to make a movie about Revan they should do a Trilogy based on his "fall" to the dark side starting with the Mandolorian War ending with Malak's betrayal
GREAT video dude! I love Revan, and this video really hits on all the major highlights of his character. Also, loved the addition of Revan's connection to Darth Bane, loved that part in the books.
1:49 “Much to Revan’s amusement” indeed. HK-47: “Your pupil once asked me what I thought of him, and I informed him of his Meatbag status. He was unimpressed, but you found the reference humorous. You changed my programming so I would continue to use the term. It drove your pupil to extreme lengths of frustration.” Revan: “So Malek was the original meatbag? I like that idea.” HK-47: “Observation: Of course you do, Master. You did then as well.” My favorite exchange between Revan and HK-47.
I think it probably started when The Old Republic Dlc revealed Revan's face and many people pointed out of how he looks similar to Keanu Reeves therefore the Support for it
Revan is great and the old republic is such a good era it has so much lore to discover. SWTOR is still one of my fave games to play and KOTOR was a great game to
Fantastic!! As always, I love your content and your passion for STAR WARS. Revan is one of my favorite characters in the Star Wars universe, and I also believe it's my eldest son's favorite character. What a testament to the franchise that what amounts to fanfiction be could become something so powerful, interesting and important to so many fans of the franchise. Great video man!
Revan was most likely the chosen one of the old republic era as kreia in Kotor 2 described looking at Revan was like staring into the heart of the force itself.
"She cut herself off from the force temporarily to avoid falling to the dark side." Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Meetra get cut off from the force because the echo of all the dying Jedi that she had bonds with would've literally killed her?
I think so. Only a handful of Force sensitive people survived Malachor V and at least one of them did so because they weren't awakened to their abilities yet. Meetra Surik, Bao-Dur, Nihilus, and Scion. It is less certain what happened to the Jedi further away from Malachor V, other than that Kreia will tell us that the Mandalorian war masked Revan's true war, and that it was a smokescreen for a series of massacres to create places strong in the Dark Side. These places would let him convert Jedi en masse to his cause.
Okay, in a sense, you are correct as to what our "Main Character" of Star Wars The Old Republic is called, but at that time of the battle on Yavin 4, that one was no more than whatever class we chose, but for lore's sake, we'd choose Jedi or Sith, so we'd be known as a Master Jedi, or Sith lord, Outlander only happens after that coalition has taken down Revan and his forces on Yavin, then the Eternal Empire emerges. But then again, I don't think I ever want to acknowledge the existence of that arc, and what follows
Love when you cover EU/Legends material Theory! If we ever hope to see more content in that timeline we need more people to know about it. You should keep making these! Your Caedus video was good at this and now with Revan... keep it up, thanks for keeping the EU's memory alive :)
Anakin was a much stronger force user than Revan, but that also allowed him to be manipulated by the Force to a greater degree than any Jedi or Sith before him. Revan, on the other hand, turned this one-sided relationship on its head. He taught himself to ignore the will of the Force, and free from its machinations, he was able to manipulate the Force itself to his ends - and through it, manipulate everyone else connected to it. It was this reverse dynamic that made Kreia admire him so much, because she saw in him the end of the Force's tyranny - a way for living beings to dominate the Force the same way the Force had always dominated living beings. That's also what made Revan so unbelievably dangerous to both the Jedi and the Sith, because he proved they were slaves to their teachings and thus slaves to the will of the Force, where he was wholly unfettered and free to use the Force as he wished.
@@fabianseewald7884 Kreia: Revan was power. And some say he never fell, only sought the truth and ripped off the veil of the dogmatic narrow view of the Jedi.
And now I'm reminded of some rather cute short comics featuring animefied Revan and company. One of them was called Carth Can't win. "I'm sorry Carth, but... you're a meatbag!" "Master loves me!"
I remember my swtor assassin going through hell to get the full revan outfit, and man was it difficult as assassin was not exactly the best class at launch
You gotta love how the closest thing we have to an official appearance for what Revan looks like: Keanu Reeves. Like say what you want about swtor, but it gave us Keanu Revan
Your comment in there asking who we think would win between Vitiate and Sidious... Vitiate would monkey-stomp Sidious. Vitiate manipulated the growth of two empires simultaneously, while battling mentally with Revan, and then possessed an entire planet full of people, while still maintaining one of the empires. Sidious, if I remember correctly, has managed to body hop a couple or so times... and that's not even taking the actual capabilities with the Force... Vitiate would monkey-stomp Sidious.
Revan holds all Jedi and Sith in the palm of his hand, a grey Jedi, he understood the Force and didn't bend it to his will. Neither light nor dark he was the Force in the form of a man
Wouldn’t it be cool if Disney could just take their Legends re-brand of the Old EU and carve out a separate department for it, with all the old EU stuff being turned into films or TV shows and none of it having any actual bearing on their new canon? That way, we can get faithful adaptations of characters and stories on screen without worrying about new canon getting in the way. And at least they’ll be able to, hopefully, satisfy a majority of the EU/Legends Star Wars fans that prefer this over the new canon. It’ll be like Marvel’s ‘What If’.
Just finished shadow of Revan yesterday. And let me tell you it was infuriating. I couldn’t find the last mission so I was up till five looking for it. And Revan had 2 million HP.
Great video, can’t wait for the Old Republic on the silver screen. You reference a few comics in this video, what are they? Thanks and may the force be with you.
Revan is my favorite Character in all Starwars. I tend to say is Mace, Yoda, and SIdious, since Revan is not cannon anymore. Well Disney Mentioned him in the last Movie, but is that the same Revan from Legends? Because the Revan from Legends, is the one that is my favorite!
Sidious would die before he'd know the brawl started... Darth Vitiate had lived for thousands of years, knew secrets of the Universe and of the force Palpatine could hardly dream of...
Revan literally was the chosen one of the old republic, he mastered both light and dark. He even had force storm and teleportation. He went through all stages of a force user basically being a jedi Padawan using a blue lighsaber, than being a jedi knight using his og purple lighsaber, and then was a master at a time using green as well, then went on to become a sith using only a red lightsaber and saw through the jedi lies. Then he realized even the sith are wrong and became a grey jedi/anti hero type which had no sides. using both his red and purple lightsabers. and began his own thing and creating his own form mastering every aspect of the force and even stronger after his resurrection, in the old republic basically only vitiate could defeat him. He is definitely one of the strongest force users. Probaby top 5 ever, you might call me biased, heck I'll even say I am. But he's my favorite sith/jedi
Two things 1. Without light side Revan the strike team would have been killed so fast 2. His force ghost helped eventually kill vitiate in his final form
Meetra Surik? I didn't know they turned the Exile into a specific character. The whole point was that the player made the Exile. Oh well, guess they can do what they want really.
Didnt know much of revan before this video, google only told me exactly how the book ends,so i asumed he didnt escape, but now it is impressive how much more i learned of the force too. Did he kill Emporor Vitiatate?
