The Queen is the legal Owner of 2.67 Billion hectares of land. The fact she isn't on the list but the Catholic church is on it, it's very confusing. They also seem to have left out other royalty as well like King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia.

The land holding of the Catholic Church is absolutely stunning. Can we assume each church sits on a parcel of land that is a portion of that aggrate? Or, is much of this land donated by church members upon their deaths? Or, both?
They just said a bunch of stupid crap instead of explaining where the top holdings were, whether it was farms, ranches, or exclusively church property.
According to my sister who has lived and educated the Native American peoples in the north, there is a better word to use rather than Inuit. Hats off to Canada for doing the righteous thing, our neighbors who have never declared war on us.
evansalik1331, I wish I remembered, but it was specifically for their tribe. You're right to say that we can't lose by calling them by what they prefer. For sure. Probably the tribes in Canada have a different name.
The top 2 don't count. The Catholic Church is not a single entity. It is broken into a series of divisions called diocese. Rome can not relocate finances from one diocese to another, therefore they exist in isolation of each other. Nanavut is a territory that has been treated as a property holding in order to assign false sovereignty to a displaced nation of people.
Rohan Khatri yea most of the grown where these people own can be bought for less than 100 a hectare except the dairy company and the sheep one the land near to the coast is much more productive so much more expensive
Considering how barren the land north of 60 is, I don't consider this something to brag about. Most people don't even want to live there. Cold, not much grows there, so...easy to give them that much. (I am being a bit snarky, yes). But hey, looks good on Canada! (Yes I am Canadian). But hey, at least the Inuit know how to make use of it. Good on them.

I know you didn't write this script; you were hired to read it. But did you not argue about this at all? It is easy to give away 35 million hectares when we have that much land to give away. But do you think the USA has even 1/4 as much to give away? To anybody? Please tell your bosses to not write such stupid comments. I am not even American, but this raises my hackles. That being said, one final comment: As I said above: at least I know that the Inuit will take care of it. They are usually better environmentalists that the ones with degrees in the science.
I hope you understand that a lot of the land owned by the Catholic Church was also stolen? The Catholic priest and church were no different from the Colonialist who exploited and pillaged the natives/local inhabitants during Colonial time.
Zachary you can easily find it at encyclopedia.com or use Wikipedia. The catholic church was even involved in the slave trade. Native people were exploited in the name of Christianity and vast tracks of land and natural resources taken by the church.
