As someone who works a mascot job (not sports mascot, but mascot) please be nice to mascots. Teach your kids to be nice, too. If you’re looking for a way to teach your kids to be nice without ruining the magic, just inform them that many animals have weak eyesight (which is true) and/or that the mascot has feelings, too (also true no matter which way you’re looking at it). Being a mascot is fun most of the time, but I hate when people think it’s okay to try to beat up a mascot or do dangerous things with a mascot. Keep things fun for everyone by keeping safety and feelings in mind, and we’ll all have a much better time!

I am utterly offended that the Oregon Duck vs. the Houston Cougar isn't on this list.
