One of my favorite aspects of perfume is attributing personality traits to fragrances. When I open my perfume drawer, it’s like my little group of friends with totally different personalities. The one or two you wear that day are like the one’s whose personality matches your mood that day.
I have Aramis Tobacco Reserve and I adore it! I have a decant of Tobacco Vanille, and I love it so much, but, I really am just as happy wearing Tobacco Reserve as I am Tobacco Vanille, and at a fraction of the cost! I'm a woman in my 60's, and I just never have been fond of heavy floral fragrances that so many women wear. I tend to enjoy men's fragrances far more than those marketed to women. However, I don't like soapy fragrances or fragrances that smell like the ocean, salty, or like sea plants. Nothing fishy, and nothing skanky. I am just getting into sampling some incense fragrances. I ordered samples of Reve D'Ossian by Oriza L. Legrand and Jovoy's La Liturgie des Heures which I am wearing on skin this week to see how I like them. I'm really only in the beginning of my fragrance journey, and I am on a very tight budget, especially right now. But it is a fun and fascinating journey. Others fragrances I enjoy are Dior's Feve Deliceuse, Floris Honey Oud, and Federic Malle's Musc Ravageur, to name a few. I'm sorry to have gone off on a fragrance tangent, but I want to let you know how much I am enjoying your channel. It's not all about getting free sample bottles like some channels, and I appreciate that very much. Thank you for your enjoyable, interesting, and informative content. I like to learn along the journey. Lisa
👏👏👏Nice video sir!! My favourite masculine fragances are Encre noir and Terre d'hermes edt, and the entire 7 Loewe line, and amazing inciense take of how a man should smell😉 Best Regards!!
Blessings mate! Top notch video as usual and expectations is very high to see the next video. Really appreciate your taste and style you are don dapper don dadda. Blessed up my G Straight.
What a great list AC! Great review as always too. Your videos are really worth watching. Bought Aramis Tobacco Reserve few weeks back. Outstanding tobacco fragrance at such a reasonable price. Also bought DHP couple of months back. I already have some of these on my purchase list.
Two of my favorites in this category are PDM Carlisle and Terre d'Hermès. RE retro masculines, I bought Versace L'homme by mistake, thinking it was the Pour Homme (big difference). Hated it at first but it quickly grew on me. The opening is what I imagine De Niro was wearing in Taxi Driver, but the dry-down is amazing.
Hi AC. I got so much out of this video. I have a number on this list already, and the rest are already what I am contemlating. I love the idea of separating contemporary masculine fragrances from perhaps those from the middle to late 20th century (although I love those ones too). I can't wait for part 2 of this series (and 3, and 4 and 5..... :0) ) Big thank you AC.
Very interesting introduction, AC. From your list my favourite is Faqat lil rijal... so beautiful and rich! Another one very affordable one and very manly is Armaf niche Oud, which you reviewed a few months back. Great content... keep rocking!
I think the most balanced masculine fragrances in my collection that are green and refreshing with natural notes that give me comfort and confidence are Bowling green and Agua Brava.
I have to try Bowling green, I have always heard good things about it. I think after my disappointment with Grey Flannel I never got interested in trying anything from that house :).
@@SmellsGoodfragrancereviews TRUST ME. Bowling Green is completely different. There were only three men’s fragrances they ever put out and BG is a flipping masterpiece. Only advice is look for one made in the US. Any reformulation from England changed the scent almost completely in everything but the opening. My favorite version was the one made in Florida.
Tom Of Finland by ELdO is a current masculine favourite of mine. Great list AC, agreed Rasasi’s FLR is amazing value, I don’t know if it’s natural oud but it’s lovely and daring in any case.
Long time no see my good friend! After a very busy period in my life I'm super glad I can come back such a top notch video. Hope you're doing great, I'm excited to binge watch all the content I missed :) Take care, wish you a splendid evening, good sir!
Great choices, I have several from your list. Have you tried Cartier"s Pasha Eau de Parfum, Rochas Moustache Eau de Parfum, Lalique's Ombre Noire, Hermes Voyage Parfum, and Tom Ford's Beau de Jour EdP. These are all great perfumes that I highly recommend to try them out. Dior Homme Parfum is one of my favorite perfumes of all time. Thanks, mate
also try that joop homme absolute...i recently bought it and nobody talks about it ...its a beautifull dark insency fragrance with a touch of sweetness..its stunning at least to my taste..
AC If you get a hold of these, try and do a review if you think its worth it. Pantheon Roma - Raffaello Raffaello has this sort of an 'Architectural' air around it. I suppose it's because it has a certain 'airiness' a certain 'spaciousness' which comes from a very beautiful medicinal-smoky-incense note. Andrea Maack - Coven Starts off hazy, somewhat semi-dry tall-grassy like. Morphs into a somewhat woody patchouli mid and ends with a warm somewhat gourmand lime chocolate which is mildly sweet. Beautiful Fragrance. A young guy who is independent and somewhat confident but not content. Something very important is missing (not in the Fragrance but in the person who wears it)
Awesome review one again AC! Hats off! 😊 I really liked the photos you added to show the personalities you connect those scents to. I liked the Cantona one... being a United fan! ☺️ I still need to put my hand on the Tobacco Reserve... fantastic list!
Great list AC . However I have to disagree with you on the point that you made about Dior homme parfum is for any season. I would only wear it in fall or winter. Never in summer
well i got some of them like prada l homme intense - prada amber intese and dunhill icon..i will add 3 more from my collection that i think could be in the list.. 1)bvlgari man black orient 2)bentley absolute 3)the original aramis by aramis
I smelled the first 6-7 on this list and I agree, they are all amazing, and I will probably soon buy Dior Homme EdP and Eau-Sauvage, and perhaps one of Prada's fragrances...
Another great content AC, awesome selection for fragrances on Contemporary masculinity, on your list I would pick Dunhill Icon is actually my SOTD, to me is a superb scent, so that's all have a great, wonderful, blessed, positive, productive and safe week and weekend and as well to you and your family stay.
Great picks! Wasn't expecting an Hermes fragrance, but it was a great choice. Also the original Bel Ami is very posh as you say. I'm also happy to say, that I own quite a few of these fragrances. Can you do a summer night out indoors / outdoors fragrance video? Or maybe a top 10 vacation fragrances video? I believe it will be a big hit! Stay safe and cheers, Stoyan
Great list sir. Happy to see Rasasi faqat lil rijaal in the list that beats most of the higher end designer oud and niche fragrances. Imho it easily beats and it is better than Hugo Boss bottled oud, Versace oud noir and Gucci Intense Oud. You are one of the best perfume reviewer in this business and I have a caption for you. "IN YOUR NOSE WE TRUST" May god bless you and your loved ones. Stay safe and keep going...
Good day AC great subject and good taste as I expect but all my favourite masculine perfume is not listed so here is them YSL tuxedo Memo paris African lether By kilian intoxicated Clive christian C for men Clive christian X for men Loewe 7 Creed royal oud creed bois du portugal frederic malle french lover Tom ford oud wood from all of them my top favourite and compliments getting is memo paris African lether with intoxicated and french lover come next All this perfume I have full bottles and I wear them regularly
That's some serious stuff . great list sir 😍. I own 5 of them and tried 8 out of those 10. You have gotten an amazing taste sir 😁👔 . Enjoyed this video and waiting for 2nd part now 🙏🙏🙏😊
Hey Ac it’s Yawar from kashmir what a great review you are awesome as always you are the very definition of a frag head spectacular wow I am a fan I want fragrance lovers to know about you believe me you are awesome
Hello my good man! A little late on the comment. I’d have to say my favorite masculine scents are Rive gauche though discontinued it’s something I’ve made sure I have in my collection. I also enjoy Dolce and Gabanna pour home. L’occitain pour homme Dior Fahrenheit Le Parfum
Glowing and Shininng as always my friend. I have LIDGE and I think it is super classy although it ressembles another classic cheapie which is Zino Davidoff. The one I find masculine and classy and dadesque type of fragrance is YSL Rive Gauche. A masterpiece from the days of Tom ford at YSL.
Funny thing, I much prefer faqat lil rijal on summer, at least on me :) the geranium get's a center stage right after the oud, on winter on me it "dies" a lot
Another great lost AC! 👍 I sold my bottle of DHP if you can believe that! 🤦🏻♂️ Thankfully Dior re-released it as a 100ml and it smells pretty much the same as the 75ml to me 👌
Those two, Habit rouge and derby, I had to leave them aside mate, my heart sank :(. I think I will do a classic masculine list as well buddy, otherwise it wouldn't be right, what do you say?
