Sometimes I get so nostalgic thinking about the good old days when I played runescape. Just the music it self brings so much memories.

the fact rs has been around for this much of history is pretty amazing tbh, most games do NOT survive this long, despite the shit people talk about. I cant think off the top of my head any online MMO around as long as rs.

I remember the old nite I was in elementary school he was outside wildy... He warned me that I was getting lured which I was a guy lured me to the wildy saying he was quitting me and my half set of mith armor jumped at the chance of getting 50 million gold... At the end nite messaged me and gave me a set of full addy which at the time was the highest level armor I could wear. The fact is he warned me but I would not listen. The lure guys name was zezimo I will ALWAYS remember this name ALWAYS.

The GE has the be one of the best economy simulators in a game.

runescape was so alive back in the day, imagen how big runescape could have been if they never messed with the wildy update in 2007. They destroyed the game back then. Even though its back, the game never restored to how it was. It is nothing like it was in 2007. Idiots ruined the game.

can't believe i started this game in 2004 and seen it's prime. lot of potential to waste it used to clash the biggest games in the world back then. i remember everything on this list. i remember i hated the G.E when it first came out ( becuase i didn't know how to use it ) then ended up loving it. in my eyes every update made to runescape ruined the game more and more and more apart from the G.E i think that was the best update they ever did. ( im talking original RS here ) but the free trade and wildy ban is what destroyed runescape its unarguable. and the EoC was the nail in the coffin. OSRS listens to it's players now so well. imagine if the original runescape did this? could be one of the biggest games out there if they did that from day one. what a shame!

You never quit Runescape, started when I was 14, still keep finding my way back at age 21. Still with never forget the day I got my first 99 skill.

my number one most memorable moment in RuneScape is without a single doubt in my mind, was my leaving of RuneScape. I had been apart of every aspect of RS's community from PVE, PVP, skilling, to Roleplaying, Questing, following random dudes in Varrock. it had been where all my friends were, and they were a second family to me. When I left, I left to no fond farewells or bitter arguments, I left the game without being able to say goodbye, everyone who mattered to me on that game had either left already or had made new friends and had forgotten about me. The day I logged out of RS for the last time, I felt like I was leaving a apart of myself behind. However, now, I've changed my tastes and made new friends in different games communities and such. That is my most memorable moment, and its one I will never forget. (and holy cow that got real deep, REAL fast. apologies XD)

2012 is when the world ended in Runescape... armor update with eoc was just too much and honestly it killed me when all that time i spent to earn Dragon Full Helm was wasted as soon as they updated it

I never played runescape but nevertheless you gotta love those kind of stories. it's the kind of legends that only get told in big gaming communities that have existed for a long time already with members that put a lot of dedication into their favourite game. people will talk about it even years after those events happened.

That poll for EoC was sharp-shot: There were 5-6 categories, and only two were definite Yes/No the others were subjective. 20% were hard No, 13% were Yes. Jagex argued that based of this 75% wouldn't mind when actually about 60% of people held a negative view. The project was someone's baby and they put their ambitions ahead of the community.

Removal of free trade is what killed the game for me, tried to came back later but it was never the same :P

Greatest moments for me were: Tutorial island fishing shrimp and cooking it. That to me was like mind blowing at the time and got me hooked on rs. First 10k, 100k, 1m, 100m. Looting 100m while doing aviansies off some random who died at kree, got his spectral, arma and fury. Idk what the hell he was protecting. First firecape and 99 cape. Standing in falador world 2 looking for a sweet deal on an item. But the best moments of all were meeting all the players and making friends and seeing them come and go as the years go by. I've outlasted all the friends I've met since I started playing in 06 but I still keep them added in the off chance that they come back on.

Restricts free trade. Gets rekt. Let this be a lesson in Capitalism boys.

Cool fact about Zezima: zezima only started playing rs because his friend showed him the game saying "this is a game you'll never be the best at." Hahahaha. It's true (watch the runescape documentary for proof). So I guess his fame all came from stubbornness+determination XD

See, re: Fally massacre, I heard it was because a few people were still on the scrying orb (which was located in a combat-enabled area in his basement. Everyone else who got kicked elsewhere behaved normally on exiting, but anyone who was on the scrying orb when the kick happened stayed there until they left the orb. They then had nowhere to exit *to*, forcing them into Fallador with player combat still enabled.

Nobody has believed me, but The_Old_Nite (I always thought it was "Olde") gave me some rune items and a bunch of lobbies outside of Falador. I had no idea who he was, I was a super noob. What a great guy.

My problem with the grand exchange was that no one sells anything in the stores anymore except for dumping off crafting skill items that wont sell on the grand exchange.

love your stuff man you got me into runescape and let me tell you the community you've created is great people are nice and when i started playing they started giving me free stuff. when i asked why they sed stuff about how they were inspired by mote plox and just wanted others to love the game the same way they do so hey coming from a sixteen year old kid i just wanted to say thanks i love the game and i love this channel.

GE has always been a tough pill for me to swallow honestly. It's a fight between efficiency, which is good, and player interaction, which is also good. I would be a liar if I said it isn't convenient, cuz, of course it is, way more convenient than switching to a world known for trading, and waiting for an item you need to go up for sale in the fanciest of flash2 text possible. With that said, I would also be a liar if I said I didn't miss interacting with players more, establishing trade relationships with players you knew were regular crafters, miners, fishers, etc. Going on the forum and posting in one of the many shop threads where people would run you supplies wherever you needed them, or just craigslisting it up for more obscure stuff you needed or were selling. I like the GE, but only in raw logical efficiency. I AM looking through nostalgia goggles, I recognize the superiority to the system from a mechanics standpoint, but I loved Runescape because of how wild west it was, because it made you forge ties to other players if you wanted to progress at any faster rate than just doing everything yourself. It made you feel good to know you were THAT merchant who people regularly called on, it kept you wanting to play, it gave you more of a purpose in the game than just another magic pure we need for such and such. I miss it.

I don’t think anything makes me more nostalgic than Runescape...Draw ranger boots and dark bows at school, run home and hop on with my friends. Being a noob trying to find the quickest ways to make money, and never mastering any of them. I made some of my best friends because of this game. Some all around the world, and we still stay in contact.
