Here's a Titanic/The Great Gatsby theory I heard: Jack Dawson, a poor man in 1912 manages to get aboard the Titanic, and meets Rose, who is rich. He gains a taste for the finer things in life. He pockets the Heart of the Ocean, and when the boat sinks, he is presumed dead but survives. He pawns the Heart of the Ocean, and uses that as a foundation for building his wealth as Jay Gatsby, a millionaire with a shady past and a fear of swimming pools.

The 007 theory gets blown out when they reveal his parents' graves in Skyfall and their last names are also Bond, no matter how much I wish it was true!

The T-Birds have "Wings" on their backs while the Scorpions are affiliated with fire making them demons. Rizo and Kenickie are the more "mischievous" ones who take this "Experience" as a chance to have some sexual fun and Rizo is tempted by one of the Scorpions (Hence the whole pregnancy and guilt situation).

My favorite movie fan theory? Boba Fett Killed Uncle Owen and Aunt Beru. Let's look at how they died. Their home was burned to the ground. Let's also look at the events that led up to their deaths. We see the sandcrawler that sold C-3PO and R2-D2 got completely demolished after leaving Luke's home. But before all of this there was a fiasco above Tatooine's atmosphere. Now obviously Darth Vader is more than capable of figuring out that the plans to the Death Star were in the escape pod that jettisoned while the Rebel Blockade Runner was boarded. He sent his Sandtroopers to search the pod and they discover that droids were in the pod and they more than likely have the plans. Let's fast-forward. When the Empire was sent on a man-hunt for the Millenium Falcon, they hired bounty hunters, among them are Bossk, Dengar and of course Boba Fett. This shows us that the Sith are not above hiring outside help. Now let's go back to the escape pod. Darth Vader concluded that the plans were with the droids at this point and knew a man-hunt would follow, so he hires Boba Fett to go after them. How does this tie in with the sandcrawler? Remember when Ben said "Those blast points. Too accurate for sand people." Well it goes without saying that the only thing less accurate than sand people are stormtroopers. So who can shoot that accurately? Boba Fett. He traced the tracks of the droids to the sandcrawler and when the Jawas wouldn't cooperate he destroyed them, then he incinerated the insubordinating couple Owen and Beru after he tracked the droids to their location. Do you still need further proof? Let's fast-forward again to the hunt for the Falcon. Darth Vader pretty much tells us directly it was Boba Fett by this monologue: "You may use whatever means necessary but I want them alive." *looks directly at Boba Fett* "No disintegrations."

Not sure if this is a fan theory, but Neo from The Matrix is... In my thought, the combined consciousness of the "good" portion of the machines... They chose to inhabit a human body to understand humanity... Their enemy... And creators. The letters in Neo's name can be reordered to spell One... The name of the machine city. (translated from binary). This also offers an explanation for how Agent Smith learned to jump his consciousness into the real world after his loss to Neo. The final contact with 01 is to reveal who he really is and that his purpose is to bring peace by triumphing over their own darkness (Smith). Especially after the machines realize they have taken unconscionable actions to win the war, just as men had before them. This also means Trinity was the hero of humanity... Not Neo. She teaches the machines love... The portion of the equation they were missing. Peace was finally possible as the two sides finally understood the other. Just a thought...

I've always seen Willy Wonka as a serial killer; even when I saw the movie as a kid. To me it just seemed sort of obvious, which is why I find the movie hard to watch as an adult. It's way too dark and it has way too much of a light-hearted exterior. It just makes me uncomfortable.

The Pixar theory is interesting, and could possibly be true. I like the idea that Toy Story, A Bug's Life, Monsters, Inc., Finding Nemo, The Incredibles, Ratatouille, Wall-e, Up and Brave all take place in the same universe. The toys (Toy Story) are alive but only when nobody's watching. The bugs (A Bug's Life) are alive but nobody notices that because they are so small. The monsters (Monsters, Inc. & University) live in a world behind the closet doors. The fish (Finding Nemo) are alive but nobody notices that because it's under the sea. The superheroes (The Incredibles) exist but it's a secret. The rats (Ratatouille) are alive but nobody notices because they never show it. The robots (Wall-e) exist in the future. The house (Up) exist but has not really been confirmed. And Brave could have existed in the past. The only part that doesn't fit in this theory is Cars, I don't see how living Cars (and Planes) could possibly fit in the same universe as all the other movies.

In Pulp Fiction, when Jules tells Ringo the case contains his boss's dirty laundry... what if he's telling the truth, and Marcellus Wallace just has some awe inspiringly nice clothes? xD

I thought the best theory was that Leo didn't actually die in titanic and woke up on the beach in Inception, meaning the whole Titanic story was a dream and that the whole movie, inception, was also in a dream but he then is actually a multi-millionare in The Great Gratsby which is a bit far-fetch but he dreamt the Titanic because of his love triangle in the Great Gatsby.

Do people really think that James Cameron movies are deep enough to make Jack Dawson an imaginary character? i mean seriously his movies are shallow, filled with plot mistakes, all about the effects and have an unoriginal story.

I personally look at it this way Cameron was depressed and possibly bipolar. Ferris is who he wanted to be, popular, hot girlfriend, caring parents etc. So he basically imagined Ferris and the activities they did envisioning this is the person who he personally wanted to be. Basically watching who he wanted to be in third person.

I like the Inception theory: Titanic is set inside Inception. While in Limbo near the end of the movie, Dom dreams up a romance between Jack, who represents him, and Rose, who resembles Mal quite a bit. Jack has come from Paris, which is from where Dom and his gang were plotting, and is good at drawing, which Dom used to be. At the end, Jack drowns, and Dom washes up on the shores of subconciouseness.

Actually James Bond being a Timelord is a pretty awesome theory, especially when you consider they've both celebrated their 50th anniversary in the past few years, they're both British icons and both have multiple reincarnations with different actors putting their own spin on the character. Bond also always has a female companion in the films, just like the Doctor. He might even be in a parallel universe, so thats why you never see any sign of the actual Doctor around, because from what I remember the Tardis can't travel between parallel universes. Yeah this theory is a little ridiculous, but I'm just going to assume its true, because it makes Bond 10X as awesome.

The Bond theory doesn't work. First, there actually is a recasting joke in On Her Majesty's Secret Service when Lazenby says "This never happened to the other guy." That alone would seem to support the codename theory, however multiple movies have referenced different events in Bond's life. For example, Licence To Kill references Bond's marriage in OHMSS.

I prefer the Titanic theory that Jack is from the future to save rose's life to keep the timeline in check.

WatchMojo, you made a mistake on James Bond. You said that "Not a single recast joke was made" about the James Bond franchise. This is very much incorrect. In the opening scene of "On Her Majesty's Secret Service", new Bond actor "George Lazenby has just gotten out a jam and he breaks the fourth wall and says "This never happened to the other fellow", meaning Sean Connery. I know you can't get them all right, but I just wanted to let you know that I caught it.

I have one for "Alien". Jones the cat is working with the alien. We already know that the xenomorphs are very smart, and they reveal several crazy abilities across the series, which may as well include communicating with cats, and we already know that cats are evil. The cat runs around in the shadows making noises to keep the people off-guard: The people never know if the noises are the alien or just the cat. The cat can also lure people, like poor Brett the mechanic, off into secluded rooms for the alien to kill. And in exchange, the cat gets spared, and also gets a cut of the meat. He's probably starving for fresh meat, but isn't big enough to kill and eat humans itself. And we see that the alien leaves behind a lot of the bodies it kills, why not share it with a useful accomplice? And when the alien killed Brett, it didn't kill the cat, despite it being in the same room at the same time and not running away. There isn't any hard proof, but frankly it makes more sense that way.

He goes to a hollowed-out book and hands them a disc that is handled as if it's both hugely important and secret (the guy pays $2K for it). The guy even says, in a not-so-subtle hint to Neo's destiny, "You're my savior, man. My own personal Jesus Christ." But what was on the disc? What piece of software could be worth $2,000 and would have to be picked up in person? The movie never tells you, and shortly thereafter, Neo meets Morpheus and gets caught up in, you know, the actual movie. For years, fan speculation about the content of the disc has ran amok, with some even surmising that it somehow proves that Neo invented A.I. or that they're other ship pilots, or that the disc has something to do with the code of the Matrix.

Ah man :(( I thought I was the first person to think of the James Bond Code name theory. My theory was a little different tho. In mine 007 is a different division of MI6 where they like brainwash and train young men into thinking they are a legendary spy named James Bond. "he kept the bond name when he went rogue" because he thinks its his actual name. I also threw in some other things(that would be a little harder to believe because the connection is tenuous.) like the house where James grew up as a kid isn't his dad's old house or whatever but its where they used to train the boys, and MI6 had M assassinated in sky fall by the blond haired guy because she didnt want to be involved in the 007 project anymore because she fell in love with the last bond (Pierce Brosnan) and hated seeing what they did to him after he had to retire as bond. If they made that idea into a movie it would be cool to see the Daniel Craig Bond visit the retirement home where the senile Pierce Brosnan, Sean Connery, and Timothy Dalton are. It would be even cooler if one of the previous James Bond's becomes a Bond Villain because of the way he was treated after being taken out of the program. (like they tortured him for information or something)

The only issue I have with the Pixar theory is that I don't understand how Cars would fit in, unless it's the exception due to how far off it is and the fact that they don't have quite the reputation that other Pixar movies have.

@ theory number 10: Wonka was running a competition. So he knew that the spoilt and nasty children would be tempted by things in the factory and break the rules. They would be kicked out. BUT NONE OF THEM DIED OMG DID YOU EVEN WATCH THE FILM/READ THE BOOK. They were all fine in the end, and they learned a lesson.
