Well, then Trixie was brought back, so she was given a second chance and Pearl proved that she was worthy of being kept around, making it to the top3 and winning 2 challenges. All is good

It's crazy that season 7 was the most "boring season" but it has the best season trailer and when you think about it has the most popular queens from any season to date. Most of the season 7 queens have the most followers of any queen and is the most international and "booked" queens to come out the show
Season 7 was above all a lot of wasted potential...with so many fashion queens, there should have been more fashion related challenges instead of all the acting challenges, which were very similar to each other.

Yeah, pretty much...season 8 but especially season 9 were so boring overall. But the challenges in season 7 were sh.. They seemed to be tailored to Ginger, which was quite of a waste in a season full of great fashion queens. The show can either invite a variety of different queens and then do a variety of different challenges with them or it can focus on one type of queen and then do specific challenges for this kind of queen. But it can't do both.

I cried when Fame left, I cried when Katya left! I cried when other queens left because this season brought the most iconic and most likable queens out here!
As much as I love season 7... some of these were scraping the barrel. Pearl vs Fame "epic"? Last time I checked, most people thought it was one of the worst lip-syncs in Drag Race history, but sure, whatever.
I know that some people will highly disagree with me, but Season 7 is by far my favourite season. Mostly because the Season 7 has some of my favourite queens of all time!
Yeah I don’t really care if the challenges weren’t as good as past seasons and if there wasn’t a good enough mix of acting and fashion challenges, it’s really the people who make the season interesting
It may not be the technically best season, but it's my favourite. So many iconic queens and uh-mazing fashion! I have a lot of love for these queens and this season
Actually, Pearl's performance was really accurate and I enjoyed it. I mean the outfit, the attitude combined perfectly with "I really don't care", she nailed in a very interesting way, in her way. Just saying...
There's lots of reasons why it makes sense though, Violet has said multiple times how Dax was the only one doing something different in the drag scene where she came from and how they apparently bonded over that. Other thing to see is that being bad at drag race doesn't mean you are bad as a drag queen, and Dax being someone who was there for 2 episodes didn't really showed us a lot of her drag aesthetic to be honest. Finally, although season 8 had 2 look queens on the top 3 most of the queens strengths wad consistent humor, so she was outshined early on and had she been in something similar to season 7 she'd probs done something more similar to how Pearl did. (Plus there's rumours that they had planned the season having Naysha go way further than first eliminated, after Laila did the incredible applause lipsync they had no option to but to eliminate her, then the producers forced a double elimination to bring her back to the competition, but that was just a rumour that was going around when the double elimination first happened 👀)
The phone call thing seemed forced. So maybe it's editing shenanigans. But they missed a spark. Layla had it, till she ripped off her clothes. So cringy!! I was sad to see both of them go, then again, the whole season was full of awesome queens (and derrick berry.)
+garfreeek Luckily, though, Laila was put in Bob the Drag Queen's music video, "Purse First", (lookin' FIERCE I must say), and even after she was eliminated, she was on her way up (because once you're on national TV, you're going to get more gigs and tons more fans because you're now WAAAAAY more well-known than ever before -- even Willam managed to pull this move off, probably better than any other queen that's ever been on the show!) So Laila and Dax both have massive careers and tons of fans, despite being eliminated very soon on the show. Which is nice, 'cuz they're both awesome!!
in the video it is not said she return after the "eggs" challenge, but that the return was triumphant as it was the first challenge she did after returning to the competition

Hmm I so agree season 7 was actually really interesting. Don't get why it copped so much hate. As for season 8 I tend to agree that it was a bit boring. But having said that I can't hate season 8 fully as we got some great queens i.e. Kim Chi & thorgy are two of my faves. It's like people that hate on season 1, I get it's extremely different formatting wise but some of the most amazing queens, shannel, tammie, Nina, Bebe & Ongina were shown to the world.
I personally dislike season 7 because it generally had too many performance challenges with too many 'looks' queens leading to a lot of underwhelming performances in the season. I however do like season 8, besides the dragometry challenge it was all right not the best but great with some amazing queens coming out of it with the closest top 3 ever.
I don't get why she wasn't really. I understand that she was paying omage to her late drag sister Sahara but it was against the rules, and also I don't feel it really matched well with the song.

I wonder if they wanted to make Katya Miss Congeniality so they had to eliminate her. I never noticed this til now but none of the Miss Congeniality’s ever made it to the finale. Except Nina Flowers but that was season one.
Because Pearl was the perfect beautiful queen with this horrible past that OBVIOUSLY Rupaul wanted to exposed in Drag Race. But Pearl wasn't even prepared for that, the way Rupaul was pushing her too much in the competition and the background story of the "is there something in my face?" moment, kinda prove it. Pearl could barely talk when Ru showed her child picture, honestly, that moment was really moving, for not saying the most. If you want to know more a about Pearl's past and why having her in the finale was a really intelligent move, talking about storyline and production, I recommend you to watch her video: "My past" in her RU-vid channel (Pearliasion, or something like that). Don't blame the queen, blame the production.
Fascts Gefhyg its better on a rewatch: perfect example is “Shakesqueer” the absolute hot mess challenge with queen Jasmine. I love season 7 for its unintentional humor.

Everyone, including me, complaining how boring this season was, but it's actually gave us the most memorable characters from the recent season from RPDR, Katya, Trixie, Ms Fame, Jazmine, Ginger, Pearl and Violet etc. and while S8 was less boring than S7, it's doesn't left so much memorable charactes besides Naomi or Kim Chi
Melanie Del Rey she did a lot better in the lipsync and had a full performance, also up till then she had also been performing better than pearl in the competition on a whole

Katya is just everything tho. Usually the people that don’t think they are loveable or beat themselves up the most ARE THE MOST LOVEABLE AND JUST AMAZING. love her
