Hey Marconix! Thanks for the comment and for the support! Thanks for the suggestion as well - you're right, these are on the pricier side. We'll do a video for some more affordable monitor controllers in the future. SageAudio.com
@@sageaudio Also - here´s a video on Imperium that you might find interesting :-) Link: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-5qrYl3Do9ec.html
i don't get it. Monitor controllers have converters in them? Does this mean that i can just choose to buy a monitor controller and forget about converters?
Hey Kofi! You could, and most interfaces offer both monitor outputs and line outputs. But I would go with an interface or separate convertor over trying to use a monitor controller for both monitoring and other forms of conversion. SageAudio.com
I've seen and heard so many great things about the Avocet Crane Song. I'm still wondering if i should go with that or get the UAD x8 together with the Quad for talkback... I'm just contemplating about this, not sure what to do. 🤷🏻♂️ I do use a lot of line-in/out because of my synthesizers. And i use them with cables with 1/4 jack cables on one end with XLR on the other one. I don't think the Crane has 1/4 jack in/outputs into the console itself? Sorry for my bad English, it's not my native language. i hope my sentences make a bit sense.
Hey Laurent! From what you're describing it sounds like the UAD would be best - from what I know the Crane Song does not have the 1/4" connections that you need. Thanks for watching! SageAudio.com
Thanks for watching! That's hard to say since they're both great options - maybe some used but well maintained units would be good. Since they're so well built they tend to hold up for a long time. SageAudio.com
@@sageaudio Thanks for providing this kind of content. There aren't a lot of videos on this tier of controllers. Yeah I think 2nd hand is the way to go. Scared of the fact that they might update the line soon if I do get brand new. Hate it when that happens lol.
Do I need an audio interface? For example, I use a SSL2+ and I want to listen to my lunchbox processing in my monitors but it isn't possible due the fact that I don't have enough inputs and outputs. So can I use one of this to listen my process and at the same time use my SSL2+ as my audio interface in my DAW?
Hey Renan! It looks like you should be able to. Since the connection to the DAW is via USB, and you have inputs, you should be able to connect the output of the lunch box into the line input of your SSL2+, which will then be sent to your computer. The output of your DAW will be played through the SSL2+ outputs. SageAudio.com
@rapgentry, what type of interface are you using and does the avocett IIA And does that Quantum DA rack unit alter what you hear from you normal converter you are using in your setup?
