13:45 "For a few dollars you can hire a woman who'll fit all your fetishes. To match your requirements perfectly. And if you ever get tired of her you can always run down to the employment agency for another." I must admit, Beverly makes a compelling point.
Wow, Beverly sure was an understanding lass, and so self sacrificing. From the look of Lee Van Cleef , I would think he might of had some ideas for his honey to fulfill . I wonder what the going rate was.
Ha! Good one, Fred. I remember Beverly Garland from My Three Sons. She didn't do any screaming on that show, tho. Except, maybe when Uncle Charlie crept into her room at night. 😁 And hey... wasn't that Ted Knight voicing the Alligator People preview?! 😆
"Touch" Connors @ 6:08? As soon as I saw him, I knew that was Mike Connors of Mannix fame. I never knew he went by the name "Touch" early in his career... until now. Thanks Fred!
Oh, you'll love Touch in the MST3K version of Swamp Women (Swamp Diamonds). It's available online. Here's a 2 second stinger, ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-gQdtYjaJ1Ko.html
MAAAN !!! you bring back the good memories of Saturday night when I was allowed to stay up late as a kid. These movies would come on at 11:30 after the late news. If my parents fell asleep I'd stay for devotions, watch the station sign off (they never do now) with the national anthem and then white noise ;)
Fred baby you nailed it by including Yvette Vickers for both The Giant Leech's and Attack of the Giant Woman. And, of course, her layout in Playboy (June '59). Such a sad ending for her though.
This was really cool. I grew up with these movies. You should really do one about the fine women of horror in the 70's. Now I want to go back and watch some of these.
It has some pacing issues, and the bit where Richard Denning points at the baby with his revolver always makes me laugh/cringe. But the effects are excellent, the monster scenes are all really effective, and Mara Corday is as gorgeous as any creature that ever walked the face of the Earth.
I liked the Mexican setting and the fact that there was an hispanic second lead who was more than a mere sidekick, although I will grant Don Krouskop his pacing issues.
I was surprised to see that Joan Taylor didn't make the list. She starred in a couple of all-time classics: "Earth vs. the Flying Saucers" & "20 Million Miles to Earth " Too bad she didn't get the role for "This Island Earth" or she could have had the trifecta...
I must.ve missed out on Attack of the Giant Leeches.Have to catch that one.Beverly Garland was a great #1,but I remember Julie Adams in many, many movies back then.Another good one Fred.
As someone who enjoys both Roger and Gene Corman's monster movies from the '50s (especially Night of the Blood Beast and The Brain Eaters), I've always found Attack of the Giant Leeches relatively boring.
I actually prefer The Creature Walks Among Us, even if the second male lead's rivalry with the Gill Man had actually materialized in the finished movie.
AHHH, a new Fred Flix, fix ! Beverly Garland, boy did Steve Douglas hit the jackpot with that second wife, and Rob, Chip, and Ernie had a babe for a stepmom. Anything with snippets of Lee Van Cleef and Touch Conners is gold. And John Agar and Richard Denning , what a time! Yep, those honeys were the standard, with those hourglass figures and bullet bras , hubba hubba ! Fred, you're " THE MAN" !!
stendec 5762 Miss Garland played in "Scarecrow and Mrs. King," "Remington Steele," The Mary Tyler Moore Show" and "The Twilight Zone." Quite an accomplished lady!
Great collection Fred also honorary mention to Marla (the body) English from “Voodoo woman” and “The she creature. You could probably do a separate dedication just on the “hammer girls” by themselves. great job again
Liz: You want sumthin', Cal? Cal: I sure do, honey! Yvette Vickers was incredible. She was also in ATTACK OF THE 50-FOOT WOMAN. Also, I personally would have put Mara Corday much higher on this list. Besides being as sultry and stunning as any woman who ever lived, she was in THE GIANT CLAW in addition to the two films you cite here. That kind of resume ought to earn her a Top 5 spot, at least.
Interesting that a clip with Richard Denning was shown, from The Black Scorpion, and 2 others. In real life, he was married to Evelyn Ankers, who was a 40's beauty scream queen!
This was good...... very, very good. Informative, informational and a bit of fun as well. Thank you for posting !! And the poster's below are correct, if still alive, they would be quite old by now.
@@randyacuna3248 when I was a kid in the 1960's one of our channels, channel 5 in Seattle on weekends shown commando Cody movies.the show was called " Adventure 5 theater". That was the first time I'd ever seen Commando Cody movies.
@@johnbockelie3899 the tv show Commando Cody , sky Marshall was a half hour tv show syndicated by republic pictures. First , the 1949 serial King of the Rocketmen introduced the flying jacket, Next, in the 1952 serial Rader men from the moon introduced the commando cody character , again with the flying jacket and finally the serial , Zombies of the stratosphere 1955 serial. Those serials were edited into movie form , my guess is that is what you saw.
@@randyacuna3248 "Zombies of the stratosphere " included a rather logical Martian........Leonard Nimoy played a Martain who's plan was to destroy Earth and put Mars into its former orbit. Part of his make up included up swept eye brows. The movie was made in 1952. It's original title was " Satan's Sattelites "Commando Cody stops him at the end.
What about Allison Hayes? Hypnotic Eye, 50 foot Woman, The Undead & so many other great flicks....really I loved Beverly Garland as a kid but...leaving out Allison Hayes!!!!!!????
Yeah, I felt like dismissing THE ZOMBIES OF MORA TAU, and ignoring THE UNEARTHLY & THE UNDEAD altogether, was a convenient way to slight Miss Hayes out of her rightful spot on the list. But to each their own, I guess.
ohh Fred only you could put something so fun together! Astounding footage of old horror films, but the one that has me in gales of laughter was the alligator man wearing trousers LMAOOOOO it looked so funny. The whole girl/maiden thing did not raise my temperature LOL, but I am sure your male subscribers really enjoyed them....
I met Lori Nelson years ago at a convention. She probably the only person on earth to say that when she worked with Clint Eastwood he was kind of a young nerd!
I couldn't agree more; Beverly Garland was the obvious choice for #1. Though for raw sexuality, you can't beat Yvette Vickers. I would also seriously consider an honorable mention for Ginger Stanley, who was the swimming double for both Julia Adams and Lori Nelson in the Creature movies. Also would have considered Sally Fraser for the main list. But i'm not complaining about any of your choices. Great list, fun video, Fred!
I always wondered why I liked Revenge of the Creature more than the original. Then I figured it out....Julie Adams was replaced by LORI NELSON...the Gillman didn't notice the changeover because LORI was wearing the same white one-piece swimsuit that Julie Adams wore in Creature of the Black Lagoon... Don't worry about it Gillman...She fooled me too...
Loved this stuff as a kid then. Now at 11/9/18...this is a great respite from our mid-term elections. I'd almost rather see all these monsters in "congress' than what we have now. THANK YOU MONSTER MOVIES! Thank you Fred!
There was no woman consumption in Caltiki. The only person seen consumed in that movie are 2 men. The diver and the crazy guy right near the end of the movie. One woman is shot and killed but that's it.
Hi Fred, I didn't know Mrs. Douglas was in horror movies. I do however remember Julia Adams (hot) . Some of these movies I don't know. Love the ladies though......always ! I'm staying ..... Another 👍👍👍👍👍 Thanks Fred
i used to have quite a crush on Allison Hayes. especially in the disembodied and zombies of mora-tau and attack of the 50 foot woman. she will always be without question, my favorite. thanks for this.
Beverly Garland is definitely a worthy number one. But suddenly, quality of the movie is a strike against Allison Hayes and the first sample you show for Garland is The Alligator People? Outside of Dick Smith's makeup effects, what does that movie have to recommend it? When I watched it, it seemed a lot longer than its running time.
