Crazy how the justice league really shades some of the undervalued characters. Swap thing needs more love. Swap thing can swept out the entire justice league, they should be happy he’s on the “good” side

Some of the monsters that I know from Comics are Solomon Grundy, Man-Bat, Man-Thing, Morbius, Werewolf By Night, Killer Croc, Etrigan, Hellboy, and Swamp Thing.

Now that Marvel has introduced Werewolf By Night and Man-Thing, they really should do a Monsterverse style ensemble movie. Marvel not only has all the classic monsters in the Marvel Universe like Dracula, the Mummy, and even a Zombie who happens to be a hero, but they also have a ton of other style monsters they could pull from as well.

A 100yr old poem isn't exactly known for historical accuracy, just look at The Animals' song "House of the Rising Sun" which has been (questionably dated back to the 1600s (AKA:17th cent). The earliest RECORDED version of it is from the early 1900s and it was quite obviously around prior to that recording, looooong before what we know/hear today. Just because you hear/read an old poem/book doesn't make it historically accurate. "Ring Around the Rosie" is a classic example of questionable authenticity.

This seemed like a very safe list. But I guess “Top 10 Monsters” and “Top 10 Scariest Monsters” are very different lists. Also, how do we count aliens as monsters and have no mention of symbiotes? I would probably go with this (in no particular order): Bloodscream Blackheart Carnage The Brood The Trench Mangog Doomsday The Violator The Darkness Ragnars

Swamp Thing is my favorite comic book monster. He first appeared in House Of Secrets #91 July 1971 by Len Wein & Bernie Wrightson. His nicknames are Swampy, Protector Of The Green, & my favorite nickname is The Green King.

Man-Thing was the first monster I came across in the '70's reading comics. Fascinated from the get-go. He's finally being used to his potential. "Whoever knows fear, burns at the touch of the Man-Thing!"

Absolutely loved this video! I did request this two years ago, but I was beginning to think that it was never going to happen. I know it's not part of the list, but another monster I love is the werewolf in Van Helsing played by Hugh Jackman. He's fought count Dracula on more than one occasions and similar to blade, he's a vampire hunter. He's one of my favorite. 👍

He definitely should have been, but I personally agree with the claim that Etrigan is better. I would have definitely preferred him in Injustice 2 over Hellboy. Maybe if they ever get around to making Injustice 3, we'll finally get him.

What an excellent list. I would have liked to see Dracula Frankensteins Monster and Werewolf by night and Godzilla but your list was excellent. My favorite Killer Croc moment is when Batman showed up in his hideout and Croc got really really mad that Bats dared invade his home.

Can you do history of the villains of the Stargirl TV show like Mr_Bones, Dragon king, Brainwave and Icicle? When are you going to do history of the Flash Villains Mirror Master and Top since the second half of season 6 of the Flash has finished? Killer croc is one of the oldest Dc villains like Black adam he can swim like a regular Crocodile and tough armor that is resistance to gunfire🐊🐊.

Unfortunately, he's one of those characters that are only known for doing that one thing. In the case of Doomsday, he's famous for killing Superman and technically didn't succeed in that. Ever since then he's become something of a jobber doomed to getting his buttkicked by somebody else.

Common misconception: Man-Thing WAS a ripoff of Swamp Thing, he just got published first. Marvel got wind of a new title from DC about a swamp creature and cranked out a version of their own. That’s why the art for the first issue is so rough and Swamp Thing is so polished.

Much as I love this whos whos of comic book monsters..... the imaginary creatures from Something is Killing the Children are absolutely terrifying more than most of the things on this list and deserve and honorable mention here. Just a disturbing comic. Also missing characters from Hack/Slash. Basically there are more monsters than DC and Marvel.

What side of the table are you viewing this from? Monster: an imaginary creature that is typically large, ugly, and frightening. Batman designed both his outfit and moniker to fill that role. Now take Earth 3's Owlman and ask yourself... who's that #1 monster?
