Red-Eyes was basically it since it was a prize card that Rex won in a tournament before losing it to Joey. I am pretty sure he mainly owned in universe commons in DK.
Why didn’t Joey just start a GoFundMe page? He would have gotten the money pretty much almost twice as fast and wouldn’t have to go through such a big hassle. I saw it in a meme online
@@drakerapper8050 yea, actually that's why Synchros are not known in new series but XYZ are. There happened a change in timeline causing Z-one not to informe Yusei about the genocite.
Another fun way to bring out Gustav max is to use #27 dreadnought dreadnoid. It is a rank 4 xyz monster that, when is destroys a monster, can use itself and its materials to bring out a level 10 or higher machine xyz monster. Like Gustav max
Why does Konami keep changing names when they aren't needed? They changed Burgesstoma to Paloedia (I think that's what they're called), Tricksters to Trickstars, Chaos Soldier to Black Luster Soldier (disregarding his theme and summoning condition, and also keeping Chaos Emperor's name), Baby Dino to *Little D,* Osiris to Slifer, and Now Needlefiber to... fucking Halqifibrax? Jesus Christ Konami of America, what are the guys over at the localization team doing?
@@anayos6726 Black Luster was changed from his very first iteration as a ritual monster, back when "Chaos" wasn't thought to be an archetype. Also, you failed to mention Dr. Frankenderp.
@@anayos6726 Osiris was changed to Slifer because Roger Slifer (RIP) was the executive producer of 4Kids Entertainment at the time of YGO's American dub. It was an in-joke...and by all accounts, Roger Slifer was a very affable guy with a lot of friends, so the change to Osiris isn't even the only character named after him in fictional works. He also had no choice in the matter, as a different employee of 4Kids (Sam Murakami) was the one who made the change. They were gonna have to drop the "Osiris" from the name anyway, because it was feared people would consider it "demonic" in America...because extremist parents had way too much power over American media in 2002.
I don't think there are any besides the monsters from that one dude from the anime that used Castle of Dark Illusion. And even then I don't think there's enough to make a top 10
I'm praying that quintet magician and the combo plays to summon him do not get limited... Destroying Staple spell and trap cards always puts a smile on my face...
@@MrZahsome It's so good in Duel Links because what it offers is often an instant-win, a 4500 attack monsters that destroys all cards on summon is kind of dumb in a 4000 lifepoint format; my favorite deck right now is Magician Girl stall where you stall for like 2 turns and then summon one, he usually comes out fast and then you just win, with no Drowning Mirror Forces or Wall of Disruptions ruining your day.
A monster that came into mind at the beginning of the video was Crimson Nova Trinity the Dark Cubic Lord, granted the summoning condition is kinda bad compared to the cards mentioned on this list but I just like the effect of it where if you attack with this card, you halve your opponent's life points.
I think that Galaxy-Eyes Prime Photon Dragon is pretty good. It’s a rank 8, with 4k atk. It can detach a material during damage calculation to gain 200 atk for each xyz rank on the field. So on its own it’s already at 5600
I'm going to show my age, but I remember Blue Eyes Ultimate Dragon being part of one of the earliest OTKs with Magical Scientist and Catapult Turtle. Lost my fair share of duels because of that damn combo
It's not exactly that its hard to summon, it's that it doesn't make sense to use 3 blue eyes and a fusion spell to bring out a non effect monster, you lose 4 cards to get one that doesn't do anything
You forgot to mention if you got Shooting Star Dragon with Quasar floating effect, Shooting Star Dragon would not come back after banishing itself to negate 1 attack. Also I'm surprised Blazar isn't there
Here’s a couple suggestions: Top best “Infernity Barrier” like cards since there are now so many in the game, worst counter traps that negate effects, best Nomi cards (which really isn’t any since they all are clunky and not worth summoning) the best being maybe the LV monsters, and best/worst draw engines not including single-generic draw cards
0:28 "Obelisk is the only one that is actually decent" (Slifer player triggered) I certainly acknowledge Obelisk is the least situational of the God Cards, but I think Slifer's lockdown effect of -2000 ATK and or destroy is useful enough to make it be considered as decent. ^_^"
Agreed I made the same point in my comment it's just unfortunate that King Tiger Waghu does its job better especially if supported by atk lowering cards :/
Slifer was the least played God card by far and I don’t really know why. It’s a pretty ridiculously good floodgate in a deck that can bring it out with a negate (even with 0 attack)
honestly it is such a good mash up with monarchs that it's strange that it didn't see any competitive plays in their prime 2016 or 17 I don't even remember( I'm referring to emperor of darkness structure deck)
Kinda surprised I didn't see a Chaos Ancient Gear Giant somewhere on this list, even on the lower side. It's a huge attack monster which is absurdly easy to both bring out with Ancient Gear Fusion, and support consistently with other material of its archetype. And it also has an incredible protection from spell and traps, and a blanket effect during battle, restricting floating effects of what it kills, and it can attack everything the opponent has. But still a good list.
Number 27 xyzs monster (forgot rest of name) is a 2200 atk monster and it’s ability is if this card destroyed a opponents monster than you can summon a rank 10 or higher xyzs monster from your extra deck using this card as a material to xyzs summon during your end phase so depending on the situation you could use this card summon super dreadnuaght max then you could go into Libre or not depending on your situation.
Too hard to bring out from any deck that isn't Ancient Gear. I love Ancient Gears, as they're my favourite archtype, but I must acknowledge that it's not often played, and there aren't many variations of the deck compared to the more meta and more consistent decks
i love watching these videos, even tho i stopped watching yu gi oh after GX (duel monsters and GX were my favorite arcs) and i don't have a clue about these new strategies and deck builds... but i love watching it nontheless
Yeah, this game has changed a lot. People aren't even using Trap Cards as much anymore, because of quick-play spells and Konami's lack of knowledge on how to balance a card game. I'm considering quitting, because games end too damn fast, and Links are so dissonant with what Yu-Gi-Oh originally was that it's actually insulting.
@@anayos6726 dude i feel you haha i actually still live in those days when ritual summoning was hard as hell and ritual monsters were powerfull... but now xyz, synchro, link summoning??? what the fuck man haha yu gi oh has gone way out of its original idea in my opinion
If shooting star dragon is summoned by Quasar it won't be able to resummon itself if it banishes itself because it wasn't properly synchro summoned before.
One reason I can’t behind the new cards (xyz, link, synchro etc) is because it’s took the fun out of game. Like he said, duels usually only last 5 turns now. I remember when I was young, playing a duel could take fifteen or twenty minutes. I used to think that maybe it was just because I had grown up was what was wrong, but with all the new cards I just see that they’ve taken the magic out of playing. I’ll just stick to the old cards and play with them against my fellow nostalgic late-20s friends.
Damn straight! I still use him to this day just because morons forget that you can't target him with card effects. And with pendulum monsters and shit, he's WAY too easy to get on the field now!
The funniest thing I can do with Juggernaut Liebe is XYZ summon Number 27: Dreadnought Dreadnoid. Because I run dinosaurs, I can deliberately destroy Babycerasaurus and Petiteranadon (by comboing with Animadorned Archosaur or Dragonic Diagram) to summon multiple rank 4 monsters, XYZ summon 27, attack, then use its effect to rank up to Gustav Max in Main Phase 2, use its effect, and then rank up into Juggernaut Liebe to have three materials, tick one off, and have a 6,000 Attack big boy that can attack 3 times. Just to be rude.
A personal favorite of mine is Chaos Ancient Gear Giant. It hasn't seen competitive play to my knowledge, but at the Locals tier, Ancient Gear OTK was great for when you were dealing with an unskilled player whose ego had been padded by repeated wins against other unskilled players. It's probably not quite as consistent with Terraforming and Metaverse on the F&L, but they did just get a new Link monster, so idk.
Shout out to Rainbow Neos for its 3 powerful effects and being super easy to get out and having 4500 attack. Can be cheated out with neos fusion, or anaconda but can also be fusion summoned with poly. Only downsides: neos and crystal rainbow dragon are considered garnets in the hand. Though neos can somewhat offset that with keeper of the dragon magics 2nd effect. It’s only other weakness is lack of self protection or negates but luckily neos fusion can help a little bit with protection Rainbow neos can 1) clear your opponent’s entire grave! 2) send their monsters back to the deck or 3) send their magic and trap back to their deck. Very powerful forms of removal.
Card effects you're surprised haven't been done by Konami yet. For example, about a decade ago I made a custom spell that destroys a monster on the field, but it's considered to have been destroyed by battle.
Regarding darkmatter dragon, it’s even more cancer if you can get off 2-3 in a turn like my old BE deck used to. I only got 3 off a few times but your opponent banishing 9 cards from their deck was almost always GG.
On Master Duel Obelisk the Tormentor is good with a slime deck becauze of the Egyptian God Slime(can be used as 3 tributes for the summon of a Divine-Beast ) and not only Obelisk The Tormentor also Winged Dragon of Ra and Slifer and combo it with Mound of The Bound Creator
Playing casual is not a sin my man, and honestly casual play is in my opinion much more enjoyable than competitive. In competitive play, everyone uses a few same decks that are best at that time, playing solitaire with themselves, wining in literally 2 to 3 turns, not even battling anymore. It's kinda annoying, and honestly i don't see anything enjoyable about that. If you wish to enjoy duels, stick to casual.
I know that ancient gears are not meta relevant but Ancient Gear Chaos Giant is pretty good with its 4500atk. Easy to bring out, on field protection, can attack all of your opponent's monsters and on top of that inflicts piercing damage.
My favorite otk is probably the blue eyes chaos max attacking into a defense position impcantation that you gave your opponent with shien's spy for example. Idk what it is, but defeating your oppenent with one attack by attaching into a monster you gave them is endlessly satisfying and funny imo.
Not to mention Galaxy-Eyes Dark Matter Dragon can send Arkbrave Dragon and Amorphage Goliath to the graveyard, and then during the standby phase Arkbrave brings Goliath to the field to lock your opponent out of making extra deck plays
There’s an easier way to summon Quasar now with Master Rule 4. There’s a trap called “Kings Synchro” that negates an attack and synchro summons using a synchro on your field and a tuner in your graveyard. Quasar will have one less attack but still
The monster captured by the Galaxy eyes cipher dragon can be used as a xyz material for galaxy eyes cipher x something. Cipher deck is amazing if only we could bypass the cannot going into battle phase effect. They're available as a starter deck on Duel master. Although getting 2 lv8 monster on the field isn't easy. Perfectly doable but not easy.
you could play Chaos MAX with Ultimate Conductor Tyranno, use Tyranno's special ability to flip all monsters your opponent controls to face-down defense (except for Link monsters) then basically attack for a lot of damage. Just need Advance Ritual Art and some normal level 4 dinos in your deck
Konami made Links, really because they were ashamed of how broken Pendulums got. But instead of doing an actually sensible decision (I mean, Konami isn't particularly known for making those) by making Pendulums go to the grave instead of the fucking Extra Deck, keeping the spell/trap zone rule, and *limiting special summoning for gods sake,* they make an EXTREMELY gimmicky mechanic; further fucking up the game by forcing you to throw in these things, and basically trying to turn Yu-Gi-Oh into this Extra-Link King of the Hill style bullshit (and you're right, it's fucking terrible). It certainly doesn't help that Links created big ruling issues with them having no level, along with no defense points. And it's primarily because Konami can't figure out a way to sell their cards for this honestly dying game.
@@anayos6726 I read somewhere that the main reason for introducing Links was actually Xyz. Also, they couldn't change the way a mechanic works, so they had to limit it's abuse. Of course now Links are being abused even more that Xyz and Pendulums.
@@RheaMainz Pendulums are only limited to how many cards you have in your hand for Pendulum summon and which are in the Extra Deck. And they were mostly used for material. Pendulum's can easily be countered by destroying one Pendulum Scale. I talked to other people and they also said that Pendulums weren't as broken as some people like to think they are. Hell, the best decks around that time weren't even Pendulum Decks. Pendulum isn't really that good of a mechanic. It's just that some archetypes like Performapals are built around it to take advantge of it, making the mechanic seem more broken than it really is.
Didn't think it would make the list but I really like halberd cannon assault mode. While the whole assault mode deck may be pretty terrible I just love big boss monsters so it's one of my favorites
Ahh obelisk i remmeber back in day if im correct i may be wrong been long time ago that his effect that destroys all opponents monster and dealt 4000 on top of it those were the days
No chaos ancient gear golem? Was kinda shocked cus its got strong protections, pierce, multy hit, and is dummy easy to get out... you can even ramp it to 9k with all of those
The Rainbow Neos disrespect is real. At the very least it beats out numbers 10 through 7. The fact that it isn't on this list yet the vanilla Blue Eyes Ultimate is is a crime.
I would say an honorable mention Whidbey five headed dragon 5000 attack points a new ability to not be destroyed by battle with anything but a light or Divine monster it's a pretty decent monster
I'm a simple duelist. I see my favorite God card and I click. How about Top 10 Link 1 monsters? Is that list even possible since the list of Link 1 monsters that see play must pretty short?
Is there any deck that won at least 3 matches with a deck that was capable of properly summoning Blue Eyes Ultimate Dragon? I don't mean it had to have summoned it every duel. I mean something like just having the Blue Eyes White Dragons in the deck, BEUD in the extra deck, and fusion spells avalible.
Love the videos despite the fact I haven't played yugioh in about a decade. How about the Top 10 worst cards with the best retrains, or conversely, the top 10 cards with the weakest retrains.
Bad part for Malefic Cyber end he didn’t mention was its level 10 XYZ potential thanks to the Malefic support card Malefic territory a continuous spell that forces the monster’s effect to change to its will so only one copy of the SAME Malefic monster could be on the field and in battle phase it negates their effects meaning all your Malefic cards can attack...also it lets you activate from your deck Malefic World. Not to mention the fact that you can use these Malefics to do some dumb shit like the spider XYZ chain or my personal favorite cause I made my Malefic deck to be just evil...use the evil utopia card, Number XX Infinity Dark Utopic. A rank 10 XYZ monster that can take any card it destroys for one overlay unit and for no overlay units can heal you for the attack points of any special summoned card you control making Malefics that much harder to kill cause they keep healing
Ikr. Both so easy to summon with proper ancient gear deck plus chaos giant has some insane effects. Can't believe he put ultimate blue eyes but didn't them.
I'd be surprised if Cyber End Dragon isn't number 1. Yes it's harder to summon than Malefic cyber end dragon but compared to the malefic version it's better. Doesn't need a field spell. Any monster can attack. Attacks a defence monster pierce damage. It can go up to 8000 with power bond. With Megamorph and Limiter removal it goes up to 32,000 compared to 16,000
What about these cards? 1. Arcana Force EX - Light Ruler 2. Arcana Force EX - Dark Ruler 3. Galaxy Eyes Prime Photon Dragon 4. Neo Blue eyes Ultimate Dragon 5. Neo Galaxy Eyes Photon Dragon 6.
