On a personal level, Joey is funny and knows how to roll with the jokes and banter, makes for a great flow in the video. On a gaming level, he seems willing to play just about anything, which brings a nice perspective to games we don’t otherwise hear about. These 3 were a great choice for this list; I feel Mike, Zee, and Tom would have had way more overlap
He brings a great comedic relief. He’s like the awesome funny sidekick that everyone loves (saying this in all the positive versions of what a sidekick is) haha
I saw 13 Ghosts, in 6th grade and it scared the heck out of me; probably the reason I don’t watch scary movies. A buddy and I were watching it, and at the most perfect moment his sister knocked on the door to his room when a ghost attacked and we flipped out. Nuts moment in my life.
Floe was on my watchlist when I was new to the hobby in spring of 2022, almost two years ago now and I had already long since forgotten about it. As Zee mentioned it’s absolutely wild the crowdfunding campaign for it hasn’t even launched yet.
Hi! We didn't intend to take this long, but adventure games tend to generate cool ideas that the team wanted to implement. So we just took a year longer than originally planned.
As an OG backer of Sweet Mess I would like to apologize for the delay of Fantasia's games. Them wading into the disaster of that games kickstarter and saving it absolutely contributed to the delay of their other games like Unconscious Mind
For those of us that have been following and backed Arcs, we remain excited about its release later this year. I will also say that the game has significantly changed from the initial playthroughs that were demonstrated on TTS, and the some of the graphic changes were not met with universal enthusiasm. There are essentially two games: the core game that was previously known as "little Arcs" and the massive campaign edition (with a huge box that approaches TI4 size proportions) affectionately called "big Arcs". There will be a lot to digest with this title for sure...
Having a little chuckle every time someone says "crowd surfing" instead of "crowd funding/sourcing" 😂 Thanks for the video guys, lot's of interesting things to look out for!
The "trick taking" in Arcs is actually more like a card driven version of Puerto Rico's action selection system. You don't ever need to match suit even if you hold that suit, but if you do with a higher number, you steal first player for the next hand and you cannot do more than 1 action if you can't beat the lead card in that suit.
"Rabbits, hares, and pikas all belong to a group of mammals sometimes called "lagomorphs", derived from the scientific name for their order, Lagomorpha. This group of mammals is distinguished from rodents because they have two sets of upper incisors while rodents only have one set"
The Freedom Five board game is supposed to finally ship to backers in May of this year. I've been looking forward to it since I backed it at the end of 2020.
Dark Quarter really gives me "Gabriel Knight" vibes (which I really loved). And is it only me, but does the character on the front look like Kurt Russel?
Alpenglow is the only game I backed this year. Got a tighter budget this year. Btw, I really wish Milla would've crushed a beer and belched in Zee's mug when she pulled that "in yo' face!" lol
Hope I can get copies of some of these, like Clank Legacy 2. I got burned on a few kickstarters so I am now just DONE with them. No more. I am sad some of these games may not be games I get to play because the windows to buy them are so restrictive, and I am not in a place with many other boardgamers around.
Love the Cthulhu games! I need to find someone (a la relationship find) who also appreciates gaming and Cthulhu...thanks Camilla for reminding me of new and approaching Cthulhu games!
@@Simon_BoardStupid Well, no problem if that's how they pronounce it then but have never heard it that way. It's a small mammal that lives in rocky areas in the western US and I've only ever heard people call it a PIE-ka. If it sounded like "picker" I'm guessing they are from Boston or England. In any case, I'll train my ear to accept PEe-ka for the game publisher.
Area influence, not majority. It's not exactly dudes on a map to control areas. More like worker placement that you have to fight if someone is already on the worker spot you wanted. @@demiser21
I thought Joey made his share of comments and asked questions, which got answered. Maybe his mic was a little lower, or he was just a little less hyped. Someone needs to be a little more low-key for balance, so it worked fine for me.
ARCS isn't sci-fi root... it also doesn't seem like a good game. You can play it on tabletop simulator and just no, all the hype is because leder games and we all know fanbois are always right...
Given that Zee had „Grand Central Skyport“ and „Sand“ on his list, I am surprised that he did not have „Mistwind“ on his list which looks like a mix of both - route building and pick up & deliver. With flying whales !
Glad to hear you're as excited for Stonespine Architects as we are! And it's by the same designer as Cartographers, so your spidey-senses were correct there for sure.
