After the last dub episode it was recap But later Jaden/Judai return back home. It This was 4kids dubbeb he would have said my business with Yubel is done, Im glad im home.
I do agree that the final seasons of Yugioh GX should have been Dubbed. I would have liked to see Chazz vs Aster, Zane’s return, Syrus combining his deck with Zane’s’ deck and Yugi and Jaden duel in the final episodes.
2 things 1. The name of the card game played in the series ISN'T Yu Gi Oh it's Duel Monsters 2. There is no Shadow Realm that whole thing was made up by 4Kids.
Yu Gi Oh GX is not the only anime that dose bathing suit coverings, there are also Tenchi Muyo, and Outlaw Star, and maybe others I may not have watched.
A person in a bath with some skin showing? Oh no! How unnatural! Put her in a bathing suit! That’s gotta be more normal and appropriate for the young’uns…….. next you’ll tell me they think changing fire to purple makes it less violent.
Fun fact: GX’s dub on season 3 is why I’m into subbed now. I was so hype for new episodes that I found subbed online, realized that the dubbed version’s tone was watered down for censorship reasons and I stuck with subbed ever since! Dubbed GX definitely has some hilarious memeworthy moments tho 😂😂😂
Out of all the Yu Gi Oh female characters, I preferred Alexis Rhodes, due to her being a useful Duelist. Also, I like her original voice actress more than the second.
@@batayou6819 that one did bring tears but not in a way Zane vs Yubel did... It's definitely sad to watch... But just the sequence of how Zane and Yubel... It's just far more gut wrenching
6:36 This censorship is similar to the case of the Harpie Lady, as in the censored version, she wears a blue tank top. While in the original version, she only has a thin pieces of cloth that barely cover her chest.
Chillin' out with the crew in the school yard Findin' trouble, never lookin' too hard Well back at class, they never taught us this Some things you gotta learn, hit or miss
If life was a game they say I can't win I'll never amount to nothin Turn me down before my life Begins I won't be afraid To challenge myself They won't ever break my fire my Dreams won't die if I High-Five the Sky Spread my Wings Take off It's time to Fly!!
You got to admit the father wanting his kid to prepare to take over the family business even if it was sake it's still a hell of a lot better life choice than playing a childs card game as a career choice.
I find it funny when they don’t exactly bother “censoring” stuff. Like Zane having heart attacks in the Dark Dimension. It’s one of the things many people would think they would censor. But they straight up say he is going to meet his demise and his opponent mocks his condition. Also don’t cut out the fact that Jaden murks civilians and takes out villages. 4Kids was weird with its censorship in this time. Because even though they used “sent to the stars”, it was almost literal and not like the glowing discs that sent the loser to the shadow realm in Duel Monsters. What is truly unfortunate is that even though 4Kids stopped dubbing Yu-Gi-Oh! in early Zexal, is that censorship is ever present in the card game. I suppose it is the legacy of 4Kids censorship that made it this way.
I think what cracks me up the most is the Harpie Lady funko pop. The regular version is the censored US version with the unitard but the chase version is the uncensored cyber shield with the nipple spikes 😂😂😂
I remember watching Jaden's duel against Brron. I was so disturbed by what has happened during the duel from seeing Chazz, Hassleberry and the Rhodes siblings getting sacrificed by the Mad King. Jaden going into beast mode which in terms, caused Jim, Axel and Syrus to abandoned him, which allowed the Supreme King to take over Jaden and went a murderous rampage. Even to this day, I still haven't watched those two episodes.
@@Dionysos_____Alters No, it's anime. As different as soccer and football despite both using a ball. It's also normal to talk about disturbing things even if they come from drawn character
7 gravekeeper's Doom: I always have trouble with the 4Kids version of the situation because I'm pretty sure most people will agree being buried alive is 10 times worse than being mummified
4kids somehow made it worse than the sub, as being buried alive is a slower death than being mummified. Not to mention that this isn't the only instance of them somehow making a scene darker than the sub, as in Arc V when Odd Eyes Pendulum Dragon attacks Duel Chaser 227, in the sub while he hits the D-Wheel with the side of his head, in the dub he basically bites the D-Wheel. That is a terrifying change
This is why I think 4kids is perhaps the worst dubbing studies in west and they remove or censored many things that made original version of anime special and unique in first place
I was gunna comment that too. Spoiler: In the Sub, i think Yubel tricks him into seeing his son and he ends up walking off the dueling platform he and Jaden dueled on. That was an interesting twist teenage me found out.
Two of the best will always be in 5ds when 4kids literally removes all the grave markers from a *cemetery* so crow is just putting flowers in front of empty grass, then crashtown when a guy has a lasso wrapped around his throat, it’s edited to be around his waist but he’s still clawing at his throat with nothing there 😂
The funny thing about The D is despite the mentioned censorship revolving him, no one in the dub team thought that calling him The D is a bad idea. To be fair, the is so much "D" in Destiny heroes. Guess that's why it's a male exclusive archetype
Oh they knew what they were doing. He uses Destiny Heros, an archetype including Captain Tenacious.. kinda weird to use that name but its not like his full name in the dub is Kyle Jables- wait. Wait. Waaaaiiit... That mother funker
Put a bathing suit on her all they want. 4Kids couldn't stop Alexis Rhodes from being a lot of developing children's awakening. That being said, the 4Kids GX dub does earn my respect later on in the series when the writers clearly gave up and just made a canonized Abridged series.
@andrewl2470 Yeah, unfortunately, thanks to 4kids we didn't get a last episode of Yu-Gi-Oh original, GX season 4, and 5 D's season 3. But thanks to Hulu I got extra of Yu-Gi-Oh Zexal and Arc V, no clue, look like a V than the number 5.
You know how a few years back Viz announced an English re-dub of Sailor Moon with a whole new cast and all the episodes we never got including the fifth season. Just imagine that but for Yu-Gi-Oh GX, as well any other incarnation of Yu-Gi-Oh getting that sort of thing.
I'm down for that. I'd like to see them dub the 1998 Toei anime that we never got. Also like the Sailor Moon Viz redub have all the human characters be called by their original Japanese names.
Top ten best yugi, atem, and kaiba moment 1. The clash of the colosseum 2. Kaiba calls yugi the king of games (final duel) 3.kaiba helps yugi fight "kaiba" (ghost of a chance) 4. Face off 5. Their first duel 6. their duel against dartz 7. Kaiba and yugi vs the cubic monster (dark side of the dimension) 8. The pyramid of light duel 9. Yugi duels in kaiba place (Noah's final threat) 10. Double duel
@@mattiasolsson1523 (Kid sees them drinking hot sauce) Kid: I wonder what that tastes like? (drinks hot sauce) FFFUUUUUUU THIS IS JUST LIKE THAT JELLY DONUT BS BROCK SAID ALL OVER AGAIN!
If a censored video of 5ds comes out: here are 3 I found out. 1. Misty brother In the original version, Misty brother died when Arcadia Movement boost the power of the machine to see if his power will get more strong but it didn't. In the 4kids version; it stated that he was taken to a location where the coordinate change daily and is still alive. 2. Yusei amnesia. In episode 13; after Yusei fell into Lun and Leo home, the edit gave Yusei amnesia 3. Becoming a dark signer. When Griger and Carly became Dark Signers, they had to die while in thee dub, they change it so that instead they fell into. Portal
original DM might had the most official memes but GX, especially Dub had most funny moments and potential memes. The latest is dramatic crossroads from Chazz vs Alexis duel.
Well technically nobody except Viper and Gecko really died in Season 3. They were instead going to be used as living batteries in order to fuse the multiverse. And nobody really missed or cared about them being dead.
@@GrandeBigdor I think also professor Stein is dead after he loose the duel to Jaden the ¨bio band¨ drain his energy and he fell from the bridge ?? (sorry for my english)
Yu-Gi-Oh GX versions 4Kids: Safe for kids Anime: Dark & Tragic Manga: Literally more dark The 4kids do the right thing to make this dark anime more kid friendly.
The dub gave her two chesticles.. which kinda makes it weird when Jaden falls inti her chest in the dub compared to falling into their chest in the sub
I don't know, being buried alive is a slow and terrifying death. Slowly suffocating while all you see is darkness, gasping for air only to breath in dirt and rocks. That sounds more painful then being mummified.
The Collector's fate wasn't at all hard to figure out even in the dub. His body missing is easily believable when we're told he was absorbed by Destiny Hero Plasma. That is literally the easiest to explain. The worst change in the dub to me is removing the final moments from the last episode of season 3. Even though they weren't going to adapt season 4, not showing Jayden's return after fusing with Yubel really doesn't work. Like the final episode of OG YUGIOH, it feels too abrupt, leaving you expecting another episode even though you know there are none. It also makes it more confusing when Jayden shows up at the beginning of Bonds Beyond Time. If you're someone who didn’t watch season 4 or look it up prior, you're left playing catch up the whole scene, before your brain blanks upon seeing 5Ds' Stardust Dragon show up
@leahowlett5525 the Pharaoh's tomb collapses, everyone makes it outside, Joey says Yugi should give one of his usual speeches and, barely a second after Yugi finishes talking, it quickly fades to black. A real ending would've been them all nodding to Kaiba, he nods back, fade to several days later at school and the cast chat a bit to indicate to the audience what they've been doing since that day, ending with Yugi looking out the window, wishing Atem all the best and then fade to black
I don't mind the Shadow Realm. I feel it adds a new dimension to Yugioh and makes duels more threatening. Loser loses their soul is just as threat raising as you can get. It gave the Millennium Items a whole new level of power that simply killing you couldn't do for me.
Also like... Yeah i think even a kid could The D (yes he's a reference to that band) just let the dude die. He doesn't seem the sort to save someone from a fire he caused at the time of reveal
Some of the MOST UNECCESARY censorships EVER! Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters, Yu-Gi-Oh! GX & the other Yu-Gi-Oh! tv-shows SHOULD be released on DVD with the original uncensored, unchanged & uncut japanese versions! P.S. MOST of the VAs like Scott Rayow & Sean Schemmel MOSTLY waste their life, time & talent on dubbing anime when they SHOULD work as Union VAs & lend their voices to other original american cartoons, like they did with the 2003 TMNT show.
If you want my honest opinion on these edits, kid me recognized that about two thirds of these edits were made and realized I what they were editing which only drew more attention to it because it felt like something was wrong
The Hot Sauce thing bugs me the most. Like, you’re trying to protect children from the reality of alcohol…by telling them it’s okay to drink hot sauce from the bottle?! You couldn’t have called it a grape juice factory or something?
If there's the fourth season of GX in the West, then someone would undo the mess that 4Kids has ever done, making it more loyal to the original Japanese version!
I think "sent to the stars" should have been changed to "turned to stardust." At least it makes more sense in a visual sense. In a way, since how life and planets are formed, aren't we all stardust?
