Lancome Idole.. It's not my favourite but I've gotten lots of compliments noticeably more from women. It also lasts a long time too. My bag still smells like it after I kept a bottle of Idole in my bag months ago..
I have it and for some reason I thought it was incredible but I don't like it as much anymore! It smells cheap on me or something! I thought I'd be nuts for it! But I have heard people compliment it alot
I was at the airport couple of weeks ago and tried the black orchid and absolutely hated it. It was just awful. And then, to my absolute surprise, it settled on my skin and smelt really sexy and chocolatey. I was shocked! So testing the perfume on skin and allowing the base notes to come through is key.
I got Carine Roitfelt forgive me for my wife for xmas, i found it smells very peculiar, i don't think she will like it, and i hope she doesn't because i don't think i could stand it on her. You really need to try this perfume before buying.
@@sweetpeace5 Well i brought forgive me without trying it on the suggestion of what people said about it. Only when i had brought and smelt it, did i realise it was awful. I can't afford another present, so i have to give her it. I just hope she doesn't wear it. Does that help you.
I don't care if you ever repeat fragrances, I just love your videos and they really relax me. Also I buy everything you recommend as I'm on the hunt for a new signature! Thank you for your videos ❤🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🦘 Keep them coming! I love when you repeat fragrances too because they affirm to me that you really mean it when you recommend them again and again...thats when I buy! haha
I wore Guidance this past week, and as I was walking out of a store this guy yelled across the parking lot, “Miss, your perfume smells so pretty.” Parfum De Marley Valaya and Delina Exclusiv are two others that I always get compliments on. Le Labo Another 12 and Juliet Has a Gun Not A Perfume Superdose are my other two that I get compliments on almost every time I where them.
Men can be so adorable. What a sweet thing to yell out! I keep picturing guys like that having been someone's beloved 8 year old son one day. So cute, bless him for having the guts to say something kind-hearted, sincere and fun to a stranger in order to do nothing but brighten their day. 😇
I guess I am in the minority group, but Guidance was way to sharp for me. I think if it had some more fruitiness to balance out the sharp woody/soapy note I would like it but it’s not for me. Valentino Born in Roma is 10/10 fragrance for me. It’s absolutely perfect in every way and will wear it forever and ever.
I don't wear perfumes for compliments (it IS nice when you get them though!) I have my own tried and tested, selected day to day fragrances which I wear depending on my preference for that day. They almost represent a Mood Ring (Remember those guys?...from the 90's? LOL)
I can’t stand how good Forgive Me is. I blind bought it because of you and I’m like “it’s MINE get away from me” hahaha. What a find. You did that 💗 Guidance is an absolute Mankiller but I don’t enjoy wearing it because it’s too strong and assaults my nose for 12 hours. I only wear it if I’m going out and wanna make a statement because it certainly does something to people!
@@sparemedat5453When I first put it on my wrist I was like oh ok that’s pretty cool but I’m not sure. The full wear changed my life and I’ve been wearing it every day AND spraying it on my blanket to sleep hahaha. I have a Forgive Me problem. Haven’t been this enchanted by a fragrance since Coromandel by Chanel
@@heavenj7 very spicy to me up close (I was taken aback at first) and like a fluffy moody cloud from afar. It’s so hard to describe, the plasticky part that was mentioned in the video is my addiction. This smells like a beautiful woman for suuuure! You’re going to be so happy after your first full wear!
My man doesn't like guidance... he looked confused when I wore it and said... "Its okay... Its not you" and I agree... I feel head spinny alot!!! I just wanted it off me!
On sampling BDK Gris Charnel I initially was not in love with it, but once it settled on my skin the scent became creamier and lovely and I get compliments every time I wear it
Fragrance is so subjective right, and I usually agree with the opinions of this channel. But Guidance was an automatic "no go" and I had to throwaway everything that it had touched because it is a beast and I just couldn't stand smelling it. I was so disappointed because I wanted to love it 😞
It’s not totally subjective. It’s an art form that requires years of study to engage in for a reason, but your personal encounters with scents as a child and socialization can sway you certain ways
For me, it’s the same with Amouge Guidance. I’ve never received so many compliments ever. I like to layer it with another 13 from Le Labo. when I wear them both, I get even more compliments. I get chased down the street and asked all the time what I’m wearing.
I really enjoy these sorts of videos, just because I'm nosy and at the same time love hearing about other people's success-- even in small, sweet ways like wearing a fragrance that works so well with their skin chemistry and personal aesthetic that strangers compliment them. What I've noticed in life though, is how often people hear a compliment when none was actually offered: saying 'oooh what are you wearing?...Yeah, yeah, I can smell it' is so often leapt on and translated as 'you smell great!'. I ask people what they're wearing often, not because I love the smell but due to curiosity about other things (ie; it stinks, I don't recognise it, I think I know what it is and want to know if I'm right and so forth). I never interpret comments about my fragrance as a compliment unless immediately phrased as such. Even asking for the fragrance name shouldn't always be interpreted as 'I need to know what it's called because I might like to buy it'. Oh dear. The fragrances people give me compliments for are not my niche masterpieces but my easy, generic fragrances which I wear on purpose when I know I'll be around a large volume of untrained noses and don't want to upset anybody. Those compliments are not the droids I'm looking for.
I bought BDK Gris Charnel because of you , the way you and your husband described it I went and bought it tested it , liked it. But the only two times I wore it to work ….. all my colleagues commented, why it smells like dill 😅 . Did somebody spilled a can of dill?) the other time time I wore it my male colleague looked at me, started to caught and opened the door, told it was a bit overwhelming 😂 apparently my body chemistry does not handle sandalwood which is very prominent in BDK. we are parting our ways , it was way to emotional for me to hear 😂
Oh no that is so sad to hear! Yeah it’s not really for everyone, some people like more darker/deeper scents on women while others like lighter and clean
Hi Monika. I never receive compliments ever on my fragrances not even from friends. I wouldn’t consider myself to be a cognoscenti but have studied the notes and loved fragrances since I was a girl. In my country we are not permitted to wear fragrance in hospitals, nursing homes or doctors offices. My doctors nurse tore a strip off me off me once, scolding me like a child because of the body cream I had just applied an hour earlier after just stepping out of the shower. On that note I would like to wish you and your husband and all of your subbies a very Happy Holiday and a safe and prosperous 2024. Cheers.
Monika I love your perfume reviews💗 To think at one point in time I thought I didn’t like flowebomb is bizzare to me!! One day I completely fell in love with the scent so much I ended up recently buying a backup bottle☺️ Merry Christmas 🎄
Hi dear! I‘m so happy I found your channel! My first question is: are you Polish? 😊 I can’t believe that you mentioned Orchid Soleil because that scent blew me away and I was so crushed when it got discontinued! I also have a very special memory attached to it, so I wish I could smell it again 😩Which perfume comes the closest to it? I keep looking and looking…there was something so unique about it that I can’t find in any other perfume and I know some people hated it, but I loved it. One scent that reminded me for a moment of it was Twilly by Hermès - would you agree? Much love to you 💝
Your channel is my favorite perfume review channel so I may have first heard of this fragrance here yet I am late to this one. I swear people stop me so many times and ask what it is! Its Burberry Her! I usually do not reach for this type of scent as I prefer a more intense scent like YSL Libre Intense. Yet something about this scent is beast mode on me but a quiet beast lol if that makes sence! I love the creamy aspect but its not to little girl creamy like cotton candy. Instead it is sophisticated and very inviting and plesant with jusssstt enough fruit to highlight. Its not too gourmand either. I have fallen in love with this fragrance and I feel it blows the new Goddess by Burberry out of the water. Goddess has been so hyped but its not nearly as good as Her!
No not at all. It is super feminine and elegant. Would wear to a black tie/wedding or just because I am in the mood 😂. It is expensive so I try to save it for special occasions
Can someone please help me to pin point what is it that is throwing me off. The same note is in Valaya, Kirke, Erba Pura as well as in Instant crush. It is in the beggining of a frangrance. It smells artificial to me and i just cant understand what is it.. 😢
@@kyndalpagan7545 Have you tried forgive me by Carine Roitfelt. I was just wondering what is the base not to this fragrance , i do not like it , it smells very peculiar to me.
They all are super synthetic. I also don t like these kind of fragrances. They give me headache. Mancera and montale for example are known for that kind of DNS. I dont think it is the musk...
I purchased a tester of Amouage Guidance. I wore it to a Greek Festival. I was stopped so many times to be told I smell amazing. People would be around me and say what smells so good. I told a couple people it’s probably me. lol. They sniffed me and said yup it’s you!! If you want to get noticed and get compliments wear Amouage Guidance!!!
Fragrances are very subjective, but I get massive compliments on guidance....every damn time. I recognise that some of the comments here are about not liking it..but it works for me. 😂
I have Valentino Born in Roma, Gris Charnel and Valaya. I love all 3 but I’m obsessed with Valaya. I like to wear Gris Charnel to go to the gym. I smell so good and my husband keeps giving me compliments because we workout together. When I first bought it I didn’t think it was that great but after wearing it for a few days omg it is very delicious. I also bought Amouage Guidance and that I had to return. Smells good but my husband didn’t like it at all. He found it to powdery. And I wasn’t wowed by the way it smelled on my skin. It never developed to anything but it was on my skin for over 10 hours.
Oh the forgive me! The bottle is so pretty! I love tuberose! When you say plastic tuberose…do you mean like the playdo smell? And with the gris charnel which is on my list, is the extrait as good or better?
Casamorati Dama bianca, le labo 33 or zadig for her, which is the best fragnance for woman? The all have Vanilla and sandalwood i want that smell, but not too svet not too strong
Santal 33 is very heavy and more masculine. I spritzed one spray last night and had to leave the room. The wall where I sprayed still smells 16 hours later
Monica. A beautiful video, as usual. Many of the UK links are not working. If I buy any I want to ensure its on your affiliate link. Thank you. Regards
I suggest trying "MAGNIFICENTLY DUBAI" by Zara! If you enjoy Chanel Coromandel, you might like Zara's "MAGNIFICENTLY DUBAI" as a comparable alternative.
Hi Monika. Thanks to you and your channel, I know about Amouage Guidance and I bought it. I get compliment all the time. Thanks for your reference. Happy holiday!
Than, you have to visit another perfume channel where only cheapes are. Everybody do what they wants on their channel, if you dont like it, dont have to watch. I dont watch perfume channels where designers and cheapeis are mostly because I dont care at all, and dont comment to do luxury perfume videos neither, it is a rude habit to tell somebody what shoud she do on her own channel. Just skip it
What the heck, I like all of Monika's videos, she tends to talk about all kinds of perfumes and usually responds to the requests for specific videos. She talks about luxury products and others... Relax. If you watched more than two videos on here you'd know. @@zsuzsabereczki3985
I personally love her 10 videos. More variety. Everyone is different. If it is overwhelming to you, perhaps just stop watching after 5... And come back another day to watch the remaining 5... So that you are less overwhelmed.
Agree with other commenters - Guidance is straight up weird. I get Boozy bourbon mixed with sweaty privates. I do not want to smell like that & it makes me wonder if people who enjoy are truly aware of why they like it or is it subconscious. 😂
@@leonadior8640 sweaty = animalic. It’s pretty common in fragrances if you do your research. Civet notes are used in MANY fragrances and it used to be expressed from the anal glands of poor civets, now its synthetic. There’s nothing pathetic about understanding why humans actually, subconsciously crave small hints of these “gross” aromas. It’s just a fact that we are still animals and sometimes don’t realize why we like something. The history of perfume is not for the faint of heart.
