How can you confuse a white background with an oblique bar with a red background with a white horizontal bar? Maybe you're colour blind but the confusion of a horizontal as opposed to an oblique and black line counters that!
@dtc_uk I don't find those ones confusing in particular, however there are a few not included in the video I do find incredibly confusing! These are the ones I'm thinking of: - Roundabout / Mini-Roundabout - Road Humps / Uneven Road - Loose Chippings / Fallen Rocks - Temporary Lane Closure / No Through Road - No Parking On Verge / Soft Verges - Pedestrians in Road / Zebra Crossing - Recomended Route For Pedal Cycles / Route For Pedal Cycles Only - Tramway / Route For Trams Only - Level Crossing With Barrier / Level Crossing Without Barrier - Low flying Aircraft / Side Winds
Thank you for your comment. It's fantastic. Just what I needed. I will do a live stream with Q&A on the subject very soon. Once again, great suggestion, especially as you have done a lot of the work for me
@@dtc_uk Looking forward to it! Here are a few more tricky ones - Turn Left / Keep Left - Traffic Signals / Traffic Signals Not In Use - Hump Bridge / Tunnel - Route for Pedal Cycles and Pedestrians / Separated Route for Pedal Cycles and Pedestrians - Crossroads / Two Way Traffic Crosses One Way Road - Steep Hill / Slow Moving Vehicle on Incline - Quayside or Riverbank / Water Course Along Road - Cattle in Road / Wild Animals in Road - Hospital / Fire Hydrant - Vehicle Testing Station / Radioactive Substance - Home Zone / Quite Lane
Thanks much. In four days, I'm flying to Heathrow, renting a car, aking a deep breath, and taking to the English road. Your video helps much. Kind regards.
Thank you Guy for your valuable feedback. I wish you safe and happy driving. You are most welcome to ask any other motoring questions. I will try my best to assist
1-2 Blue circle = must (drive streit ahead) Blue square = informasjon (direction of road) 3-4 In Norway we have a different sign at end of dual carriage way, black arrows forward and backwards 5-6 We don't use these in Norway. We use a yellow diamond for priority road, and a sign with a sketch of the intersection under it. 7-8 In Norway these signs have the same size arrows. We learn to watch for the red arrow. They are supposed to give way, and white/black has priority 9-10 Nothing to add
2:16 Another way for how to remember the first sign, based on the shape only. 1. An upright rectangle can only have 'up or down' arrows => must be the one way sign. 2. A round sign can have arrows pointing to *any* direction => must be keep-direction sign. You may also invert the order of 1 and 2 depending on how it fits you best.
Thank you sir. The was very helpful. when i was learning theory i always mix up.passed 1st time still learning. The roundabout was confusing as well. Practicing make driving perfect i believe. Thanks again
You built up my confidence being on the road even more. Made it more easier and explained the situation on the road and anticipate in reading the markings. As a two wheel rider much really appreciated. Wish you would give two wheelers training.
Hi Summit. Thanks for sharing your story. I am glad that I coukd help. As far as 2 wheelers are concerned, I don't have enough knowledge on the subject
For me the two most confusing signs are (1) a bicycle in a red circle and (2) a bicycle in a red triangle. Red circles are prohibitions, red triangles are warnings. (1) means no bicycles, (2) means beware of cyclists. Unless you understand the general principle, you can make dangerous mistakes.
In the United States where many still speak English, signs often have writing such as ONE WAY, NO ENTRY, DEAD END, ROAD NARROWS, etc. which can eliminate any confusion. The ability to read and understand signs may be included in driver's tests.
Yes, in US everything has to be made simple, otherwise it can get challenging for the masses. Brain processes images faster than having to read the explanation, but such a system can only be implemented If the level of comprehension of the majority of the population is up to it.
9:13 i remember this sign by who ever has the biggest arrow has priority, Red circle is shown to let us know you must give way! Blue is just info so not as important..
As a driver with over 60 years experience and widely travelled, I have always had issues with these “priority/give way arrowed signs. Too ambiguous. Surely, one bold arrow can suffice, thereby removing the uncertainty. Deciphering twixt a mandatory and a give-way priority sign would be simplified too?
Brilliant advice. Your channel is fantastic. Thanks so much for your efforts, really does help. Any tips for roundabouts as they are my worst skill in my driving lessons. 😮
@@dtc_uk thanks so much would be much appreciated. Spiral roundabouts, lane changes on roundabouts would be helpful to me as I find this most troublesome . Look forward to watching them. 👍
Thank you brother helpfully iam thinking to contact you soon. I think you are the who can make it easy for me to drive easily. If you not mint leave me your contact.. to have some talk thank you
Yes, there are two of them. One which show that you must give way and the other that yu can join without the need to give way. Thank you that Ayaan!! 👌
11:44 We all know that the first sign means "No jumping cars with motorcycles" and the second one means "Look out, anything could happen here!" Thanks for the content and for the clear explanations!
Hello Kate. Thanks for commenting. I will be live streaming on Sunday 28th January at 4pm. Subject: Top reasons for failing a driving test. Will you join me?
