yeah I mean clearly anime isn’t for everybody..I have never had any issues with most “disturbing” anime’s. It just really depends on the mood, but all of the good anime’s are always good regardless of the “disturbing” side of it. Thank god that they dare to be different or everything would just be the same, which I’ll take refreshing and “disturbing” over that any day.

Wrong. All of butterflies and mostly all of moth species don’t drink blood. Some moth species like the vampire moth have been known to feed on blood from other animals but that’s about it.

That's just blatantly untrue. Butterflies are opportunistic blood drinkers, mostly feeding on nectar but will also drink urine, sweat, tears and blood if they find it. Intentional carrion feeding has been observed in tawny rajah, brush-footed butterflies and gossamer-winged butterflies. It's called puddling.@@toshi4542

Perfect Blue is well done, yet terrifying story. For what I remember, the story of Perfect Blue was inspired from the incident in real life. A stalker commited suicide after years of harassement of Iceland singer Björk, his attempt of poisoning Björk failed due security managed to confiscate the poisoned package in time. The incident was a massive shock in Europe. Something my mother vividly told me about. Me and my mother appreciate Björk's long journey on music industry. Sadly it truly is a fact that people who perform for public, whether political or entertainment, are subjected to harassement of people who have lost their touch in reality.

I remember I was looking for horror animes to watch one night and watched Shiki first. I didn't find shiki that disgusting cause of how the plot describes whats happening, plus it pulls on your heart strings throughout. Then right after I proceed to watch corpse party and little 10 year old me didn't sleep that night. It's not even just the bloody scenes for me, it's the screams and noises added on that get me.

What makes Perfect Blue into such a good film, even though it was released in -98, is that it is frighteningly topical today. Almost everything that happends to the protagonist could absolutely be seen as a metaphore for the image we project of our selves in social media, and how we can completely loose ourselves in that persona.

My issue with Blood-C was by episode 6 or 7 it seemed like they were intentionally withholding the information to understand the story. They made you wait till the last episode to explain what was going on which was super annoying. Buy the gore is A-1!

Perfect Blue is one of my favorite movies of all time. I know it's bad, but it's just so much fun to watch a girl leave a JPop group for selfish reasons, and her life goes to hell while the new duo DOES BETTER without her. I'll admit, I bought the movie purely because the DVD had written on the back that the movie "Is what you get when Alfred Hitchcock joins forces with Walt Disney" or something along those lines.

I was about 10 years old when I first watched Midori. It was the most brain wrenching, mind fucking, nightmare I've ever seen in my life. I was on a discord call (I know I should have known it was 13+, but I was a kid and I never listened to stuff like that) in this one server. It was movie night and they voted on a horror movie and someone recommended Midori at the last second and the moderator decided to play it because it sounded "interesting". I'm still traumatized from that blood curdling anime. I still sometimes have nightmares. I will never be able to go back in time and forget what discord was. Never watch it. Please. No matter what age. It's the most fucked up thing I've ever seen.

Trivia: Animation Company's such as ufotable etc. were divided by groups, usually good at animating and right down newbies, they were assigned to or they would picked their next project, the leftovers would be animated by newbies or those who need more improvement. So, if you see a low rating anime made by a huge company, there's a possibility that it was made by their newbies.

Horror/psychological anime isn't for everyone because it can get pretty intense but it's also the type of shows that keep you on the edge of your seat wondering what will happen next 😅 I've watched like 8/10 of these and I'd say shiki was definitely one of my favorites along with 'Another' which isnt on this list but I consider it to be one of the best horror anime I've seen so far.

Redo of Healer it is a morally questionable anime about a healer who was abused and used one lifetime than me since reality and gets revenge on one to abused him in the previous life. It's messed up. The Island of Giant Insects was good with the butterfly one. Although butterflies don't really harm other organisms, they are still scavengers and get nutrients from the leftovers of a predator. And the butterflies in the movie probably evolved to become predators themselves, since every other insect is giant and flowers won't suffice.

anime psychological genres will show you the effects of trauma, anxiety and stress for every bad incident that changes our lives. I've watched so many anime psychological dramas just to make sense of why or how Japanese creators come up with them. After finishing psychology, I've realized that the art or thinking behind psychological genres is actually based on effects of trauma - which is another reason why they are under "psychological" genre it always has to do with the human thinking.

I literally grew up with 90s OVA perfect blue included. Being a literal child watching most of these OVAS I loved it and had no idea whats going on. Vampire hunter D, Ghost in the shell Devilman violence jack goku and the midnight eye Ninja scroll urotsukidoji (which is basically hentai) totally desensitized me

I actually rather liked Pupa. It wasn't great, I admit that. I think because it was so short and there was no worldbuilding to get anything that happens to the siblings any context. It was really underutilized because of the erotic undertone between the siblings that just didn't need to be there. But I think the overall premise was an interesting one.

Midori is based upon real events that happened with the author who was also preyed upon and witnessed. It's a piece of the horrors of Japan's relaxed laws on these kinds of crimes and the relaxed morality that no one talks about. The animator himself experienced similar things. It's sad that people take it as just a "pedo" anime. I myself was a victim of child sa, no one wants to talk about this subject so I appreciate what they tried to do with their limited time, money, and resources.

Just a comment, based only on anime from this list that I watched: >So, I was kind of neutral towards King’s Game. Visuals were nice, until that girl (don’t remember her name) was set on fire. Perfect Blue wasn’t that heavy to me, but it’s the heaviest psychological thing I ever watched. I would recommend checking out both. >Geo Tokyo Fish Attack… welp… it was actually disgusting and if you have weak stomach, I suggest NOT watching it. It started well, until humans actually started to turn. Also, I was and still am confused about one circus that appeared and it’s hosted literally talked nonsense about this “gas”. I can’t say that I regretted watching, but I did 😂 >Corpse Party-it was okay. When I was watching it, it wasn’t censored, so I can assure you that there were a lot of gory and graphic stuff (I even saw insides). Maybe someday will rewatch it. I never played game, but from watching play throughs, I can say that game is much more interesting on plot. >Now, the Pupa. I did finish watching it. It wasn’t that long… But I regretted every second of it. Just what did I see? I know, but don’t want to know… I highly recommend avoiding this thing.
