The Sims 3 was my first "horse game" then came Rdr2 and I love both of them for different reasons. one is a sandbox basically and the other is more real. Both have horses and both are fun.
Fun fact! The behinds the scenes jumping clips you showed for rival stars desktop edition was held at the stables I ride at and the horse was my old trainers horse Brainy, I believe!😊
I absolutely love RDR2. Not only because the horses but for the story. I had this beautiful Palomino Standardbred Stallion on max bond... My laptop died and now I feel kinda dead inside :) I personally don't really enjoy StarStable anymore. Sure they constantly keep putting in new horses, but storywise it's horribly boring.
On my first play though, I had a dapple gray Andalusian mare named Snowface. The ending broke my heart, she was such a good girl. The only time she bucked me off was when a cougar ambushed us.
I bought RDR2 purely for the horses, then fell in love with the story which I've replayed over and over again. I can't see myself stopping any time soon 🤣 I spend more time stealing or taming, bonding, riding out and jumping horses on that game than I have on any horse specific game I've ever had. I enjoy rival stars horse racing for the breeding element, even though it's genetics is off with reality, it's still good fun to try and produce specific patterns consistently. The new pasture feature is a God send! As for the other games on this list, it's a hard pass from me.
I started playing rdr2 the year it came out because I saw my dad riding a horse and said, "Dad can I ride your horse!?!?" and the rest is history. (Also my dad had inappropriate names for his horses so once I got older he suggested I made my own account on the PS4)
I bought and did everything in Horse Club Adventures when I was in desperate need for a new horse game. It was cute and pretty fun for the duration that I spent with the game, although I let most of the dialogue just fly over my head willingly. Out of the games mentioned in the video, RDR2, despite not being a horse game, is definitely a purchase the most worth the money spent. It's really unfortunate what Rockstar did with RDO, but the story mode is where the game really shines anyway.
@unknown like someone else said, RDO is ‘Red Dead Online’ while RDR2 is the story mode to it. Story mode is the one you mostly want to go for, it’s set in the 1800s I believe and you play as a character in a gang. As stated in the video, there is an honour bar which will change based on how you play and affect your ending. There is much to be done in it but I won’t bore you will all the details- RDO however is something you can play either with friends or if you wanted, chat to strangers. It does lack in a lot of the story mode things however you do get more of a selection for horses
Star Stable has been the most worth it for me personally just because it's my work now 😅 I've gotten loads of hours out of the Sims though but not necessarily just with the horses. In Australia I actually am pretty sure I paid more for RDR2 and Rival Stars because I had to pay conversion rates? whereas Star Stable works their money differently (one of the ambassadors has asked them why and they had a reason behind it I can't remember). I'd love to see your thoughts on some of the like 2d browser horse games like Howrse - it's probably the first horse game I played and haven't touched it in years but I played for free (not sure what the currency is) and with some work my siblings got pretty far. Maybe it's harder now
I actually have been playing Howrse since 2011, and I still passively play it! Been seeing a lot of people saying it's gotten harder, and I do agree they've leant into the whole pay to win kinda thing
Some people say that Red Dead isn't a horse game, it isn't but honestly the attention to detail put into the horses in that game is just amazing! I've played both story mode and Online mode, I personally like Red Deead online more only because we have more horse breed options and coat color options
The Sims 3 is a great option for horse related gameplay, there is a person who made a lot of custom horses and 100% worth getting some of those into the game if you don't want to do CC.
i wouldn’t call rdr a horse game, but as a horse girl myself i did start playing the first game as a child for the horses. they look amazing in both the first and second, and the animations and such are so realistic and lovely.
Actually Rival Stars Horse Racing started out as a console game called Phar Lap. The story is the same as you play through the game. The difference is that Rival Stars Horse Racing games has added way more content on the side, like the free roam rides, photography. But the story is the same.
Not a horse game but Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild has amazing horses!!! They are pretty realistic and by far have the best feel to them out the horses from all the games I played (plus the switch controller vibrations make it more interactive). The only downside tho is that there's only one breed and size (apart from the giant horse) and they're all on the same model. There is much more pros on them but I don't wanna make this comment any longer than it needs to be. Tl;Dr Legend of Zelda BOTW is not specifically a horse game but the horses in it are amazing.
This is why I love about this game rdr2 because it is the most realistic game I ever had and I love the horses I know you can it's not really a horse game but I'm glad you put it in there because I love it
Personally i think rdr2 is the best investment for a horse game, extremely realistic behaviour within horses and and has many interactions as you mentioned, i mainly play red dead for the horse gameplay BUT even when you are avoiding mature themes you will come across them so still make sure you are mature and understanding enough of the game contents if you choose red dead
I’ve been playing SSO for 3 years now and I can tell you it’s the best horse game I’ve ever played. It does not have realistic graphics like rdr, but the quest lines are amazing, and theres clubs, which a lot of people focus on. SSO does not have any 18+ only content which is amazing! I recommend it, but I’ve been addicted and spent like $500 just on star coins 😅
The problem with SSO is that it's not 18+... The horses are cute but it's a very childish game. The quests are extremely boring and predictable because they are designed for 5 year olds. I actually paid for Star Rider membership, but had to stop playing because it's too much a kids game... I wish they'd make a proper version that's more fun :)

@@wolfsbane1991 i think you could try starshine legacy 1,2,3,4 is the back story of the soul riders it is not childish like star stable it s a little bit hard to install but you can find lot s of tutorial the easiest one is the one by old games dowload the quality is very bad but the story is amazing not at first but then it become fantastic but you have to take the tine for every episode because it doesnt save
@@wolfsbane1991 I disagree with you - if you really like horses then this game is the best. Also every week upgrade and unlocking new areas. As it was mention in SSO site it will come also breeding in this game! Plus if you cant play for some years it is still fine because you getting special currency for every week (even not opening the game). In another words in long run Lifetime payment is the best choice for SSO! I'm there not for story but to enjoy care about horses and graphics also are great (possible to enjoy day or night time and even you can choose which one you prefer since it is possible to change)! Plus in this game you can buy if you wish special/magical horses! My last purchase was unicorn which I bought during Christmas event which is really great event on the game! There are several events which are really great! :)
Star stable definitely has the best qualities for a legit horse game. Ive been playing it for around 5/6 years now and adored it throughout it all. The different areas you unlock after quests is defo worth it too as it just gets better and better. I do have to agree that the graphics can get better especially with the NPCs and the riding animation but it's improving. Theres many quests, races and championships to do too. Ontop of that you can also level up your horse by doing races. I just now reached level 20 for my character and ive been playing for years so it really proves that you wont finish the game fast lol.It might sound like im promoting it because well, i am.This is hands down the best horse game there is and you can tell the people that made it geniunely care about the community and the game and not just making money off it. The game also ranges from all ages but mainly aimed at 10-13 year old girls as its PG and involves no swearing.You can defo play it at any age though, coming from a 16 yr old lol.If youre a horse girl, try it out :) and if you like an open world with adventure and quests, star stable is 100% the game.
When I was a young girl, there were horse games with amazing graphics. They always got better and better and accompanied us through our youth. They weren´t so colorful (me in person hates all the bright colors, I love the realistic animations). But I have the feeling, that they had to "rejuvenate" the games for young kids. Just for an example what games I mean: Petz horsez 2 (no idea why it is called like that, in german it was way simpler) In german it was like "Abenteuer auf dem Reiterhof" (Adventures at the horse stable) and it was a series 1-6. Amazing games, if you can, play them, too!
I have been playing sso since 2018. I absolutely love that game, although it can get boring I think the horses are so beautiful and I like to join different clubs. (Also can’t believe I’ve been playing for 4 years and I’m only lv. 15...)
I used to play RDR2 online and had all the most expensive horses (the ones you buy with gold bars) the black trovero Missouri Fox Trotter still is my number 1 favorite. It's a shame Rock* killed the game 'cause it had so much potential and me and many other players spent so much time playing it and grinding for nothing since we won't have any new content. But if anyone is wondering about start playing I surely recommend, as a new player you'll have a lot of stuff to do!
I miss Breath of the Wild in this list. It also has tons of horses that Link can ride and has all sorts of systems like rarity, horse armor and much more

I love giving my Sims horses in Sims 3 but they feel really broken. I'm glad Sims 4 finally added llamas since they've been a joke in The Sims universe for many years, but I feel like they could've tried adding horses again too.
I used to play HRT like 3 years ago, the price of the VIP Pass was "only" 55€. I had tons of friends here, and *some of them even had the VIP Pass* I feel bad for them. I'd rather pay Lifetime SR to SSO then HRT VIP Pass.

Honestly, star stable CAN be played for free, even after lvl 5. I played it for free for about 6 years before spending money on it. Though more rare now, star stable releases free star coin or star rider codes, especially around the birthday time.
One time when I was younger, I was trying to buy monthly for HRT, and it was only ten dollars. And it wouldn't let my purchase go through. So, I asked my dad for help, and it took about 5 days figure out that it wouldn't work. So, then we contacted foxy ventures, and they gave me the VIP pass for ten dollars, because they couldn't even figure out what was happening. 0.0
Me and my Bestfriend used to play Horse Riding Tales and it was pretty good. We both avoided the gems and VIP because of the price. And I joined on the first month of release and played it everyday until December 2021 and then completely stopped because of nothing to do and no additional quests in like 3-4 years( since release) . I think SSO is one of the better games personally
I play SSO and Minecraft on desktop and Rival Stars on my iPad when I want to play something related to horses, they’re really fun and it’s really worth the money! Only thing is that when you’re done with the missions in SSO it’s almost worthless so ye
to round the whole video up the only 2 games that are worth buying FOR NOW and in my opinion are RDR2 and RIVAL STARS HORSE RACING because I play rdr2 and it´s such an amazing game. From the graphics and everything. As of rshr the gaming is amazing but the waiting time is a bit extreme and the breeding system is a bit off..? but other than that very nice game.
I started playing RDR when i was like 6 or 7 after I saw my dad playing it, then when RDR2 released, me and my brother played it ALOT. I am 12 now, and RDR2 is by far the best game I have ever played. It is definitely worth the cost. The story is great and it's very fun to explore and find cool secrets. The horses are really cool, u can buy them, steal them, find them in the wild and tame them, brush them, feed them and just do so much with them, though sometimes the horses have a habit of running into the smallest trees or rocks possible (I once had a horse that ran into a small tree and died 💀) But there are some other things in the game some people may not like: Nudity, violence, gore, frightening/intense scenes, profanity, alcohol, drugs and smoking, so if u don't like the sound of those, it's probably not the best game to get.

I’ve only ever played Start Stable but as sneezy as the name is it’s actually pretty good. Not really the best game if you’re looking for a more realistic experience, given the magic horses for sale and the fact that the horses and humans are apparently invincible, but still so many breeds and hundreds of coat variations, and a CRAZY amount of quests!!!
No hate to the game, but for me HRT has another reason to be on the first place. For every single mission you need to pay with the in-game currency and it slows down the process of progressing in the game and its like they are telling you "Hey pay us so you can level up". In my opinion it is enjoyable but the prices are TOO EXPENSIVE. Again, this is my personal opinion. Also, thank you Abi for posting this, cuz now I have some horse games on my wishlist and I can start saving up for them. The only horse game I have is sso but it got quite boring and I'm looking to get another horse game, maybe for cheaper or I could just grab my money and give it to That horse game or just wait for Astride to come out. I mainly play Sims 3, Star Stable (SSO is my main one) and Red Dead! Although RDR I wouldn't say is really a horse game. Edit: I forgot to say congrats to 100k! Yesterday you had 99.6k I think and you now are at 100k! Congrats once again.
You should look into RedM. It's a modification framework to allow custom servers for Red Dead Redemption 2. You can play even with Red Dead Online copy.
I actually spent about $80 for RDRII when I preordered it for PC back in the day. I think it was for the extra rewards, but I still play the game to this day, so its money well spent. I would never recommend RDO on it's own. I always run into cheaters and my fun is ruined so I just stick with story mode. The horses on RDO (even in RDR II) are designed more like they design cars for GTA series and I hate it. Would have loved it if the modding community for the game flourished and we got mods that balanced out the horse breeds more and maybe added in more stable space.
You know, if there was one more you could include it would be Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Their horse behaviors are one of a kind, riding feels smooth, graphics improve with every new game(New BotW coming), and can be compared to RDR franchise. Being that the horses are not connected to the storyline, both franchises have horses assist in the main protagonist in their travels as transportation. Although there are still major differences(Rockstar/Nintendo, very different). The Zelda franchise has been doing horse physics since Majora's Mask I think, and would definitely add it to the list.
Horse riding tales actually changed the price on VIP because now they are looking up to star stable that more horse = money. It used to be $55 only and that’s what I paid and it included way more than it does now. It’s sad to see that horse riding tales is dying and the Community is toxic. Now they are just looking for money out of this game and not giving us new quests or nothing. I hope this makes since to you!!
My mom had the sims 3 so I used that. I loved it. Soon I downloaded rival stars for free on my phone. I love both but now I kinda want to spend my money on these games
Rdr2 isn't only the best "horse game" I've played but also one of my all time favorite games. I really really recommend it!! You don't have to like horses to play it ofc, but if you don't want to do missions and shoot people you don't have to. When you have completed the first missions then it's an open world and you can do whatever you'd like. There are lots of stuff you can do for fun like play board games, do side quests, buy and customize horses/equipment/clothing or weapons for your character, you can go fishing, explore, find hidden treasures, take baths, shave/get a haircut (the hair grows out), find new types of animals, watch movies, go get a drink, cook food, tame horses, you can ride donkeys/mules , find legendary animals, you can talk to npc:s, you can visit gravesites, look for easter eggs, look for ghosts, collect herbs and much more😍 If you do want to do more shooting and stuff then you could go hunting, rob people, break into houses and other stuff. And yeah...you can also smoke. Side note: When a horse dies it will never come back unless you have horse medicin to revive it (there are special horses that there's only 1 of so be careful and try not to fall off of cliffs).
I forgot to mention the beautiful surroundings and the different "seasons". Everything in the game is so realistic!! The snow is beautiful, the rain is amazing, the thunder is so cool and the moon is just gorgeous and so detailed (it also has different phases depending on the time). You have a camera in your inevntory so you can take photos whenever you'd like! You can also visit a "photographer" and "model" for photos. (They all will be saved in your photo album)
I love rdr2, its one of my favorite games! Also, I hate when people are like "People say its a horse game! Its not a horse game!" No not necessarily but it has very realistic horses and is such a fun game overall.
SSO being a blender for cash - yeah, my 13-14 y.o. ass spending around 500$ on it to get all the stuff I wanted (just after release prices for starcoins and star rider were MUCH higher) and suddenly getting banned because of an envy friend who used my screenshot to 'put account on sale'. No chargebacks, no help from their customer service but I'm somehow happy as I have 'adult money' now and I could stop that madness of spending before it hit bigger numbers. Sometimes I think about going back to that game but remembering how much I've spent there and that I'm now much older than most people in there... That's not so tempting anymore.
You can do a majority of things on rdo as you can on Rdr2. You can’t However remove your horses saddle, talk, keep wild horses, and have to be certain levels for certain clothes, horse tack, horse breeds, weapons, etc. Rdo players are often disruptive and disrespectful as well unfortunately. Rdr2 is better especially for things like role playing but rdo still has a lot to offer like playing with friends. I’d say try and get both
I was there while Star Stable or SSO was being developed. They had a rise in price due to inflation and haven't since 2016. Lifetime is now USD $75. but IT IS WORTH IT! There are 1,000 quests and storylines to play. More like 500 horse breads now and they are now updating characters for variety. the reason they are a girls character game is because they originally meant for it to be a place for girls to feel save and have a community to vent to and otherwise gain support in their lives. basically an escape. But I know there are short hair styals and cloths that resemble a boyish style so if you boys want to play go ahead! XD
Sso doesn’t offer male or non binary characters because it started off about a GIRL finding her inner strength and SISTERhood, it is also a game to tell girls that it is okay to love and ride horses, and to empower them. You can’t get mad at something sso has specified like, eleven years ago.
@@AbigailPinehaven it’s started off as a game for girls. Boys and other genders and non binary people can play, but they just don’t have a model for it. I’m sure people will and have found ways to make their character more masculine, etc. I personally think that sso has bigger issues than character issues.
Going to sound crazy but...Rimworld you can technically own horses...you can technically catch wild horses, and you can technically breed those horses to make little foals...you can feed them, you can ride them...they can get sick. And to sound insane, RDR2 has a community of roleplayers in its PC version, with their own dedicated servers and mods...some which add to the horses.
Buddys I recommend you to get life time membership at sso cuz If you do you get 100 star coins (rhe one you can buy horses) per week and you need to spend less money if you do that, also ıts story line is good, and graphics are cute
Ah cheese. The sims 3 pets had : Rodents , Horses ( unicorns though rare ) Birds , Snakes , Cats and dogs , Raccoons and deer ( including other things ) for 35 - 36 €/£/$. The sims 4 has CATS And dogs for 40€ wich adds cats and dogs... and my little pet stuff ( wich mostly is dlc for dlc) is 10€/£ ... . I am now worried for the sims 4 horses... * though some packs are better because of the spring of sims 3 packs I.e vampires( Yes I am a simmer so I know what I'm talking about )
On horse riding tales, (im on mobile) the vip is 10 a month and 80 dollars for permanent, I do find it quite expensive but still an awesome game to play with friends, there's countless amounts of things you can still do without vip, and still enjoy the Game, though it is kind of repetitive, it still has a good story too it
Riding tales don t do any quests from 3/4 years and it has like 4 things to do then it just get boring and frustraiting it doesn t matter if you get vip or not and the horses coats aren t made well
i only just found out siri made tales of rain revine and its nice to see her devlopping a game as last i heard was when she had allot of commetns made on her yt

Came here wondering if I could find another, rival horse game to be obsessed over. I've decided not, as much as I'd *like* to get into RDR, I literally JUST want to free roam on a horse. SSO has been an actual godsend for this. I'm literally 21, just found SSO this year (I've been stalking it for a while, just never had thought about participating before), and I literally mute everything, go into creative/wild mode, and run. I love the photography setting the devs have added. The horses FEEL real, they look amazing, and they do realistic things (for the most part). I'm OBSESSED with the magic horses, and while I'm stingy with $30 worth of Star Coins every 4 weeks to buy the new magic horse, I still have thus far managed to pull off buying 4 magics, while only purchasing 1k SCs once. I played World of Warcraft my entire life literally JUST for the mounts, and the free-roam, because all of the dedicated-horse games were closed-circut. Barbie, Temple Run style. I loved the absolute hell out of the Bella Sara DS Game because it at least had magic horses in it, and customization options and stuff! Now I WISH I had been able to grow with the SSO community, I dont know how I even had never ever heard of it until a year or two ago.
i learned some new interesting game from this video, but i'm surprised by the ending. This my personal opinion, horse riding tales can take a maximum of 8th place. This game inferior to SSO in many ways. Graphics, management, quests. I would still agree if Rival Stars or RDR was in the first place. Therefore sso is an absolute winner for me, because its graphics are not too realistic, a lot of horses, equipment, quests, beautiful locations, all this is forever in my heart ^)
Star stable is a really good game but that’s my opinion, my opinion thinks that she expressed her feelings for it the way she thinks it is but I do think it is a very VERY good game.

I’ve been playing Star stable for many years now and it does get boring and repetitive. The annoying thing is they release horse after horse it feels like and Star coins are hard to get enough of sometimes without buying. I do enjoy the races and main story line but sometimes I just need a break from it because of how boring it gets sometimes
