Heii Aluxers! What kind of scents do you guys like; sweet, musky, fruity or floral? What top 10 would you like to see next? Join www.alux.com ! 15 Weird Things People Paid A Lot Of Money For: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-398tnlQURKg.html
Alux.com I like fruity scents especially citrus or apple scented things. But I like a sweet rose scent too. So overall I like sweet smelling Perfume. Personally I can’t stand musk or wood scents in perfume.
I like/love light smells. On women, light floral. Some women over do it with pounding on the perfume. Too much perfume smells like a medicine cabinet or alcohol.
Very informative list but it's ignoring men I'm not an expert on perfumes, but I'm used to use burned agarwood to scent my clothes, it's fairly common in the gulf and the good varieties are upwards of 130$/oz, it's most favorite scents beside the Omani frankincense.. My dream is to be able to smell the most expensive Thailand agarwood.. it's so expensive and the rarest that it's more valuable in weight than 24karat gold (more than 1500$/oz)
CanadianTozziFan actually the number one is a shitty scent, most of the fragrances in the video are special editions and others are cheaper than the price they show here (you can buy number 10 for 70$ and the Hermes aswell) The real deal is in the niche perfumery, you can find extraits de parfum (30ml) for thousand of dolars. Henry Jaques, for example, sells pure oud extrait for about 3000 dolars. Sorry for my english, im a perfume collector from Spain.
We get our simple Caron 30ml crystal flask refilled whenever we are near a Caron botique that costs no thousand Euros, and where the Caron staff are happy to load your bag with perfume samples. Trust me most of these perfumes are merely overpriced juice justified by jeweled bottles similar to the celeberities and new money Aluxers are suppose to admire. When in doubt just splash with a hanfull of 4711 or take a bath in Caron Royal Bain de Caron.
10. Annick Goutal Eau D'Hadrien 9. Jar Bolt of Lighting 8. Joy by Jean Patou 7. Caron Poivre 6. Hermés 24 Faubourg 5. Clive Christian No 1 4. Channel No 5 Grant Extrait 3. Baccarat Les Larmes Sacrees De Thebes 2. Clive Christian No1 Imperial Majesty 1. DKNY Golden Delicious Million
As one who has always loved men’s fragrance I can relay to this video. My humble collection includes Hermès, Dior, Channel, Yves Saint Laurent, Amoauge, Creed, Louis Vuitton, Dolce Gabbana, Versace, Givenchy, paco Rabbane and of course, my favorite scent, Tom Fords collection. At $800.00 for the Tobacco Oud decanter alone is worth mentioning.
I have tons of perfume, but it depends on the season...Winter-Obsession, Fall-Poison, Spring-Burberry Body, and Summer-Dylan Blue! Of course I wear others too, but those are my faves for that certain season.
Designer fragrances used to cost far more (relatively speaking) and be of far higher quality than they are now. Both the juice and the bottles used to be of far better quality. Fragrances that were available in local pharmacies and stores, I mean; not just the ones only available in exclusive, high end stores. Just shows you what has happened to wages and the middle class, over the last few decades. Cheap, artificial-smelling toilet water is now put in cheap-looking, plain bottles, with a designer label on them and sold for roughly double what a good quality EDP, in a beautiful bottle, was sold for 30+ years ago.
even if I became a millionaire, and I just might, I would never spend that kind of money on the bottle. I would spend a lot of money on this sent itself. some of the most amazing perfumes I've ever smelled were in specialty shops in Dallas Texas. They were exquisite and not nearly as expensive. Snob appeal is what is running these prices not necessarily the quality of the ingredients.
I have some Expensive perfumes, up to 100$ and that's enough for me 💋! If I had a $Billion Dollars I still don't see it. You could easily go broke just keeping up with the in crowd purchasing these Perfumes! I'm sure they smell Fascinating But Please, that's totally unrealistic to me! If a Husband was a Muti Billionare he wouldn't want his wife spending all this money to smell good! You wouldn't have a yacht to sell around the world for very long!
I prefer musky and fresh scents that smell very classic! I love Coco by Chanel, Chanel No. 5, and Coco Mademoiselle. For a floral, I really like Pleasures by Estée Lauder.
I have worn Joy Perfume since 1963.... I still love it and am wearing it now... It's just too bad they discontinued the Black glass bottle with red glass top that was the first bottle I ever saw of this amazing perfume...
@@SohamShivoham Are you referring to my name "Dakiniwoman"? if you are, what would be suspicious about it? I am just a small woman from Vancouver Island who likes perfumes.
@@SohamShivoham I have studied Tibetan Buddhism for more than 25 years. I chose the name to reflect a Spiritual aspect of myself. I am not however, religious but use as my guide in life "Harm no one". Namaste
OMG...what planet are you on🤣🤣🤣 First...Caron Poivre does NOT meen poison, it means PEPPER!!😂 And Joy, Chanel no5, Hermes etc costs only about 5-10% of what you mention here, please do your homework. I can agree that Clive Christian is very expensive but cut the price to 10% of what the video says. If you REALLY want the expensive scents then go for Roja Dove, Amouage, Andy Tauer, Nasomatto, Parfums d’ Marley, Serge Lutens, Tom Ford Private Blend etc. And then the most expensive among these must be Great Britain by Roja Dove for ”only” about 1200$. Jeeezzz🙄
Sorry but JOY is impossible to have the same formula as 1930 when it was launched, not only because some of the essences used are extremely expensive with Rose and Jasmine, especially Jasmine Sambac, as some of the fixing products used at that time with Musk, Civet, Amber gris and Castoreum are extremely expensive and for ethical reasons are no longer used. Also several chemical products used at that time with Nitro musks, Hydrocitronellol, Coumarin, Heliotropine, etc., as well as the natural essences themselves were banned or severely restricted. The World of Perfume lives on advertising and luxury, the product often costs less than the bottle...
Most of the prices aren’t right!!! Eau d‘Hadrien could be found for 70€! Joy costs about 80€ and 24 Faubourg could be purchased for 130€ for 100ml (3,4 oz)!!!
Joy by JP, in Australia is $115 for 30ml at David Jones. not super expensive at all! David Jones is also probably the priciest place to buy perfumes and cosmetics.
@@scotchette yes there is a difference between parfum, eau de parfum and eau do toillete. if they are talking about parfum, then the video should have said so, as the majority of people wouldn't buy a parfum- they'd go for the edp or edt.
Yes, i agree perfume and colognes are depends on your personality and desired scents. Some perfumes made me feel dizzy and had hot flushes i don’t know why
I've worn Joy, all the Chanels including the aldehyde based 19 and 5, and all the Carons. Caron's Narcisse Noir smells just like a jar of honey on me, and people step closer to smell me. Seriously. I own original Lalique bottles of Caron filled with product. Man. I loves me some Caron.
The only cologne that I wear is Nautica/Voyage. It's the perfect blend of light and memorable. I've smelled other colognes and, to be honest, smells too imposing. I get a lot of comments from women. Nautica Voyage has an awesome smell and only costs $75.
I have allergies to scents. I have migraines and the triggers for headaches are scents, floral or chemical scents. Only perfume I can wear without a headache in the end, is CHANNEL#5 or #19. Wish I could wear more scents.
Credibility is definately something that is paramount for luxury brands and their products. Your list is interesting because the final places on the list are not accurate based on the actual cost of the fragrance. Their prices are grossly inflated due to their bottles. (If that's the way it's ranked than Joy would come in at $1800 an ounce for one of the yearly Baccarat crystal editions offered.) Consistency lends itself to credibility. Another facet to credibility is accuracy. Caron has never created a fragrance named "Poison" (Dior has a famous perfume of that name.) Poivre is the French word for pepper who's is the strong , dominate note of this perfume. Nature may be trying to warn you that this scent is spicy and exotic, but definitely not poisonous. You also allude to getting a "decent sized bottle" when trying to impress with a bigger price tag. Most pure perfumes rarily come in a size bigger than two ounces.
A lot of people on here are commenting that some of the prices are wrong. I am wondering if the prices they see online are the same versions. For instance extrait or pure perfume is always more expensive. Eau de toilette is more inexpensive.
Marilyn amiglins. pheromone is the worlds most expensive perfum...u must try it i just love it..I've been wearing it for over 35years....just beautiful scent.....and. estee Lauder's cinnabar.. or youth dew...plus her private collection... just in love with these. perfums...
la nuit de l'homme by yves saint laurent is my signature scent but on special occasions baccarat rouge 540 does the job. I will upgrade when I become a millionaire lol
I have 24 Faubourg and the price that was mentioned on this video is quite a bit more than what I paid for mine. By the way, I heard Oprah Winfrey name mentioned as one the people who wears the Annick Goutal Eau d'Hadrien fragrance. I could have sworn that long ago, I heard Oprah say that she is allergic to perfumes.
I only wear Joy by Jean Patout orChanel No 5 au premiere. They are amazing formulations that don’t rely on cheap ingredients used in many of the newer scents.
An interesting video. Truth be told, you pay more for the bottle than the actual scent. These scents are packed full of synthetics; IFRA laws forbid perfumer's using a certain percentage of natural ingredients e.g. they can't use more than a maximum of 6% of real rose absolute (because it has iso eugenol, which IFRA restricts to 6%) in a perfume composition so if you use other ingredients that have iso eugenol you're stuffed because you have to reduce the percentage of rose to less than 6%. This amount is imperceptible to the nose especially if the perfume has strong ingredients like Jasmine and ylang ylang, so in order to boost the rose, perfumers add synthetic rose such as rose givco (made by Givaudan) and rose wardia (made by Firmenich). IFRA laws apply to the European Union whereas in India, USA, Arabia, Africa etc. perfumers are not restricted by these laws, although this might soon change. Clive Christian no.1 consists of these notes: top - peach, plum, pineapple, apricot, bergamot, amalfi lemon, cardamom and pepper - these are all inexpensive essential oils and synthetics one can buy at organic stores, Perfumers Apprentice, Pellwall, Perfumers World etc. Mid notes - rose centifolia a.k.a rose de Mai (from France); it is nowhere near the quality of Taif rose (Arabia, the most expensive rose); Persian rose (almost as expensive as Taif rose); rose Damascena (Bulgarian rose but originally from Damascus) nor Moroccan rose. Jasmine (IFRA restricted), ylang ylang (IFRA restricted), iris (IFRA restricted and very costly so perfumers use sythetics like isoraldeine, irone alpha etc.), carnation (IFRA restricted) and orchid (IFRA restricted). Base notes: vanilla (IFRA restricted), benzoin (inexpensive), tonka bean (IFRA restricted), Virginian cedarwood (inexpensive), sandalwood (we don't know which kind but it is most likely not Mysore sandalwood which is very costly and also restricted by Indian government laws so perfumers use Australian sandalwood and other sandalwoods), amber (it is not ambergris, which is extremely rare and costly; amber is a natural representation of ambergris made from combining benzoin, labdanum and vanilla) and musk (against the law to use and extremely rare and expensive, no perfumer in the European Union can use real deer musk; even those perfumers from the subcontinent, eastern Europe etc. can't use it unless they have been given permission by government to use musk pods from deer that have been hunted by licensed hunters). But hey, if someone likes it, he or she can do what they want with their money but at least know that you aren't paying that kind of money for the ingredients, it's mainly for the bottle and status.
@@susanssst I wouldn't call myself a perfumer yet. Yes I do make artisanal perfumes and will have my completed perfume line soon. I'm busy getting my bottling and packaging set up as well as website etc. Operations should be on by December this year God willing.
These prices are all so wrong just so you all know. Like none of them are remotely right. Eau Hadrien 1 oz might be $90... maybe This video is so poorly researched it’s sad.
Prices do go up and if all you are thinking of is having people tell you how great you smell, you certainly don't have to spend this kind of money to smell good. And yes you wind up broke and maybe even homeless because you have lost your fortune do you think people are really going to be concerned with how you smell 😂!?
Should have mentioned Coco Parfum Extrait when mentioning No.5 Extrait. Both I think are equal in their appeal. No. 5 has just been around longer, and thus has the prestige of being the first of the Chanel perfumes and the history that goes with it. Love Chanel perfumes, I don't wear anything else, especially Coco Eau DE Parfum and No. 5 ❤️
You don't have to spend this amount to smell and attract good. They are expensive because of the ingridients. If you want to try these fragrances just get a sample it won't cost u a leg and arm.
Oops--there's a perfume called Poison (by Dior) not mentioned in this video, which is NOT the Poivre perfume mentioned in the video. Poivre means pepper and it has those spicy peppery notes.
Some of the perfumes shouldn’t be on the list because they’re solely there because of the extravagant bottle. Perfect example is the DKNY one. I mean when was DKNY known for their perfume?
My favorite of 20 years was discontinued. “ Charles of the ritz perfume”. No other scent compares .... why they stopped making Charles of the ritz products is crazy!!! Many women adored this unique scent. I hope someone will pick up the ball and make it happen again!!!
And you can categorize what type of perfume you must have in your closet,is it woody, citrus, powdery, floral, etc.strong or mild,it depends in your preference, which scents that's last with your clothes up to the laundry basket.
I think Alux.com should have a PDF/Magazine should have a guide of all of their top 10/15 and have them separated by catagory. I'd buy it. Alux 2018 A Guide of Opulence.
Bruh they need to do more research Clive christian no 1 imperial majesty is 500 ml for 435k. They still had a couple bottles at the boutique in London,if anybody interested. And it's called house of sillage(siyage). I could go on about the mistakes, but that's alot of work.
@@otisharmonia8363 I should piss in a clay pot and say this is the well preserved piss of God, drink it and you’ll have the same divine energy as God himself!! $20 million per sip!!
