@@MrJeepmarine I'd wave at them all day. I probably do to about 20% of them because I mistakenly thought they were big bikes. But they never wave back so I don't do it anymore.
I'm a Harley rider and I rarely wave at anybody cuz I'm still a newb and I'm paying more attention to what I'm doing and what others are doing. If I'm in a good place to wave, I'll wave at anybody
I thought my Harley buddy was going to crap all over the Katana I started riding... He actually congratulated me & told me "It doesn't matter as long as you're on 2 & this is just the beginning because when it's all said & done you'll own at least 5 simultaneously"...
I'm not doubting Yammies opinion but I think it's more of a regional than he knows. In my area it's all Harley , Kawaski and Honda's due to dealerships. So when you rarely see a Suzuki people go oooooooo ahhhhhh look at that!
Harleys might be either loved or hated, but step in a dealer and try on a jacket. Damn. Nicest riding jacket I've ever had on my shoulders. Seriously premium feel.
I have to be honest with you Papa Yam. I'm extremely upset you did not give me a bike. I vowed if you did not give me a bike I would get an H2 for my starter bike. This blood is on your hands as you didnt #SaveALifeGiveMeABike
IronRdR 97 That’s what I don’t get, you can’t find a Harley post anywhere hating on sports bikes, but this douche seems to be out to categorise cruisers as lesser than his $2 piece of plastic that he has to straddle like a tree frog while wearing the motorbike equivalent of Lycra.
I’m new to riding ( on my new Honda Rebel 500😊). I really appreciate the waves from people like you, my friend. I know my bike ain’t shit compared to the Harley’s but it makes me feel good to be part of the biking club. I will give the same respect and courtesy to all riders as I gain experience and move up on the Power Grid 😊
@@rickstark1917 well ill tell ya, I have a harley with twice as much cc as my sport bike. and the sport bike is actually a much better machine, handling, speed and build quality wise. SO DONT SAY YOUR BIKE AINT SHIT!!! YOU MADE A GREAT CHOICE!!!
As a Ducati owner, I completely know what he's talking about. But I think Ducati is more like the Alfa Romeo of motorcycles. They aren't the most reliable, they're not the fastest, but damnit if they aren't the most beautiful. you will get compliments no matter where you go on it. It's more of an accessory than a vehicle, I love it 😁
@linuxpoweredcommunism @diamondheat9 why doesnt yammie like kawasaki? it was kinda annoying how yammie just hated on kawasaki half the time he "reviewing" the 400
@@lukec5729 He's a massive Yamaha fan. And I'm sure with all the hundreds of comparison vids where people put the 400 over the r3 frustrates him. It's also kinda a meme for him since he has such a focus on the higher CC bikes.
I don't think Kawi released the H2 as a response to the 'busa they already beat it with zx14r, I think the H2 was more of a "is that all you got?" to Europe in response to the s1000rr, rsv4 and panigale...
Never got any biker waves from Harley riders on my old Suzuki. I now own a Yamaha Bolt and get waves from them all the time. If you aren't on a cruiser, you aren't getting a wave. It's kinda sad really.
I just traded my 06 gsxr 600 in and not guna lie...I miss it. I was hated in my group i ride with because it really was the quickest in the whole group.
Faster than you’re 250 lol and I have a cafe racer build 1975 Yamaha Dt250 2 stroke and yeah I’d take my 95 fire blade over it any day lol. It it’s fun I. The canyon
@@aaronschulz9896 think he turned the dt250 enduro into a cafe racer. It's common to do this too Honda xr600/650's fit cg125 petrol tank get forks shortened cut rear subframe shorter and weld on a loop you're basically there. The other way round sounds near impossible. Could go for the scrambler look I guess.
@@cauterant Used 883 for 2k-2500 all day long, son. Or get an Ironhead 1000. Good luck touching a DECENT Ducati for 2k that actually had service done and wasn't abused and neglected. Maybe one of those awful melted plastic bubble shaped 90s ones.
Uncomfortable Truth I’ve rode it for two seasons and the valves are still in spec. Harley’s pull a premium here, sure I could get an iron head, but it won’t have the power or brakes that my Ducati has.
Harley-Davidson is what it is, people hate because they jelly. Harley is not trying to be pleasing to the masses and if you own or have ridden one you know that. There is fuctard riders in every brand. Just know Harley is American nostalgic and fun to ride.
@@Quest4Unknown LOL, don't fool yourself. Pleasing the masses is exactly what they do. It's changed into a lifestyle brand that happens to still make bikes. Almost nobody is actually jealous of a Harley. They don't like the riders because of douchebag attitudes. 🤔
@@paelthebroken3195 they always say "i remeber when my R6 could go 180MPH, man those were the good days" some boast going faster like I'm stupid and im literally on a motorcycle😂
I tell you why Kawi made ZX14: Kawi got the speed record with the ZX11 (a sport tourer) in 1990 and kept it until 1995 when CBX blackbird came out. ZX14 is the evolution of that bike (ZX12 in early 2000s, then ZX14). Busa was built by Suzuki in late 90s to get into the competition. btw, the big Kawi was marketed as “Ninja ZX stg” only in the US: in the rest of the world is known as ZZR stg 8-)
I had one of them (Honda Dream, that is) and it was all kinds of shite! Seriously though, I'm not trying to knock the ZX14, The Hayabusa, SuperBlackbird or any of the other hyperbikes, but there is no way that their weight, suspension or geometry are going to allow them to match more sporting bikes in the twisties. They're great at reaching ballistic speeds, but so are any of the other, far more modern machines. And those modern machines weigh far less, have far better suspension and brakes that are just astonishing. I'm not saying that a ZX14 is no fun to ride, but that weight thrills me not one bit.
@@davidcolin6519 the thing with the hyper bikes is they do a damn good job in the turns, not as good as the super bikes but are faster and more stable in a straight line and are by far more comfortable to ride for any long period of time. Overall as a bike for the road they’re better. On the track you want a super bike but that being said the Zx14 still has better cornering capability than most riders.
@@blakeotoole806 I get that, but for me, the experience of going through corners sweetly is what sets riding bikes apart. Compromising that aspect just come into my equation. And that's why I'm not seriously considering either. I'm 58 and have 2 herniated discs in my back, so a full on Superbike is never going to be on the cards, and in any case, I love my V twins. I've spent most of my life on Inline 4s and didn't realise until late that it was actually the nature of the engine that pushed me into going way too fast in way too many situations. That doesn't mean that I don't go seriously fast, but the V twin config is just so much easier to have fun on without needing to explore the outer limits. It really, really annoys me that there is literally only ONE manufacturer that produces big V2s these days. So it looks like the Super Duke in one of its iterations will be my next bike. Although the New Speed Triple might fit the bill, and I'll probably test ride the Streetfighter.
I have a beautiful 2007 Suzi GSXR 600. And yes it’s lowered because I’m short but not stretched. Runs great never a problem. Love the bike! Stay safe brothers and sisters!
The next person i hear say the husa can only go fast in a straight line..............i will look for you,i will find you and i will kill you lol. My Busa has no chicken strips because i can ride it.........if you can't wear the chicken strips from the tyres of a Busa you're a crap rider.
Between there and may mid 160s but that's pushing it. He is 250 pounds so I would beleive he may have done 150, after 120 I stop looking at the speed but that's just me.
Hey Papa Yammie, just letting you know, when I still love the commentary, video of you riding and talking about certain bike just doesn't work for me. Video / slides of the bike you're talking bout at that time would be much better. Still love ya
Hi, I am an owner in Europe of the ZX14R (ZZR 1400 in Europe) and I can tell you that it also go fast on turns. And the look, the power and the agility is awsome despite the weight. So, before criticizing, test it !
Hell, speak for yourself Yammi. We in the bike community actually LOVE groms! Those things are wicked fun and bring light to a 'such serious' biker group hang out, once they show up.
I love my 03 Gsxr 600. It is not stretched, I wear gear, and don’t want to throw a rod banging it off the limiter. It’s a beautiful bike in my eyes and a blast to ride.
It one of those rare bikes that no matter the speed or revs.... you want to go you are not waiting for a "power band" to hit at insane revs. So easy to ride. Kawasaki named it right... it is a long distance sport bike.
I remember what it's like to be young and short sighted with a limited perspective and world view. Some wisdom can only be gained through time and experience. One day we'll all be old but how many will be wise.
Papa Noob, I for one, am getting tired of being passed on my R3 by my bigger squid 600+ CC brothers. Alright they humble to give me a nod or a simple hand gestured "hey". They rejoice as they leave me behind on 1st gear while am already on third and barely hitting 30 MPH. But one day I shall enjoy the mighty power of a MT09 or possibly MT10's hooligan capabilities and endless glory. In the mean time am I can do, is look down onto my R3 and thank her for the limited fun she can provide.
He's saying people who buy ZX14's (like people who buy busas) don't care about corners they just want to go fast in a straight line. Of course most people who ride their bikes to work or tour on them will have chicken strips, the only people who regularly lean their bikes all the way are the ones who hit the canyons every week or take their bikes to the track.
Harley Davidson should be first one this list, everything else would be subjective. I remember the man drama, Orange County Choppers, I never thought any of those builds looked good. Personally, I would be embarrassed to ride a O.C.C chopper, and/or a Harley Davidson.
Yammy you better stop harassing Kawasaki before they "Peace through Power" you. Forgive me for my sin Lord and Savior Papa Yam this is a joke, and I love Kawasaki
No joke I got a buddy who just bought a GSXR 600 who said he was doin 180 in 5th. I said wow my R1 won’t even do that and he preceded to say my bike was slow
I was going to comment that you can't rag on trikes because half the guys I know that ride them are disabled. Then you made allowances for those guys. I know a few guys that would rather have two wheels but can't so three is better than a car. And really, if you're aching to ride, a trike will do in a pinch when you have nothing else or can't ride anything else.
Yeah, one of my friends rode Harley's all his life, but now has bad knees and hip. So he traded in his bike and now rides a 3 wheel Harley. He loves to ride and won't stop and I don't blame him.
Don't see why he couldn't do this? Maybe charge for the shipping that cost extra? I'm pretty sure anyone in canada wouldn't mind paying for the shipping cost for a free bike?
Frankly I like the Victory bikes better as US cruisers--too bad they quit making them. I ride an ADV, but if I go with a cruiser some day probably be a Bolt. Peer pressure never worked on me.
I own a Harley but far from being an a Harley snob. I joke amongst other friends that ride saying they need to get a Harley but it’s just that, a joke. Two wheels is two wheels. I think the only two wheels I don’t wave at are bicycles and mopeds. Harley snobs do exist and as an owner myself, I can understand where they are coming from... understanding doesn’t mean I agree though. However, my first bike was (ironically) a ninja 650. So that probably saved me from being a Harley snob. Looking at getting the R1 as my second bike for those days I wanna lean into curves but I’m more focused on long distance riding at the moment
That's all I hear about them. It's like how you have more fun driving a slow car at it's max, rather than driving a fast car at slower speeds. If it only goes 50mph you can wail on it all you want and still not get a ticket.
I put 50k miles on my 08 zx14... best damn bike for the twisties my dude. Knee drag machine and scary AF, no matter how masterful one is. Road wear from side to side, and a superb tourer as long as you dont do a flies out, bmc, pc3, blocks alien head no baffled setup on it. :)
Then the crankshaft bearings went on a Union Strike rather abruptly, after an instant nooner transmission slip/misshift. RIP Death Master '08. The rear brake stab saved my hide, and the suspension performed admirably, Mr spock.
What went wrong with small sports bikes? Back in the 90's we had the Suzuki RGV250 and Honda NSR250 which had nearly twice the power of a Ninja 250. We also had the Kawasaki ZXR400L which had 10hp more than the new Ninja 400. Small bikes were fun back then, I loved my screaming ZXR400 with its 14500 rpm redline
Spot on my first road bike was a tuned RG 25o , it kept up with pretty much anything in its day ,years later on I had a zzr 250 on loan , what a gutless thing it was LoL
Agreed. A bunch of their bikes look & behave the same & they all have their weight problems but there’s a couple out there that look gorgeous with the right aftermarket treatments. Same can be said about the look of sport bike clones. I like the look of a sport bike except when I sit on them & can’t wrap my head around the trees & forks running through the dashboard/fairing.
