There was also the orange curve-hugging gown in Gentlemen Prefer Blondes when she entered the dining area with Jane Russell. The particular scene is not only iconic, but it was also breathtakingly beautiful. Everything she wore in that film was so stunning, I had to catch my breath every time she appeared in the film...
"She was a very dedicated actress and a very intelligent woman. But also a very troubled woman who was hit by stardom way too quickly. She just simply didn't know what to do with it. So my father instantly took to her because he saw those qualities." - Jack Lemmon's son A warm human being, sensitive and, of course, beautiful. God bless her forever and ever.
Almost 60 years later and there still has never been another to match Marilyn Monroe's beauty, charm, allure, majesty, elegance and grace. There's something so incredibly magical and ethereal about her that will never be replicated...she's absolutely perfect, the most beautiful woman I've ever seen. The world definitely lost an irreplaceable amount of its beauty the day she was taken from us and even though I was born decades after she died, I'll never believe it was suicide. RIP sweet Norma Jean
She really is Iconic, but the only name that comes to my mind other than her, is another blond woman who also died very young, princess Diana, she's truly a beauty and iconic in her own way too.
Im a little surprised the gold dress beat out the orange dress she wore in "gentleman prefer blondes". As great as the gold dress was she was absolutely stunning in the orange dress.
I loved the way she walked to her table in that movie and the sexy confident expression on her face ..Have watched GPB several times. It never gets old. Loved the way she moved her body in Diamonds are a Girl's Best Friend. One of her best movies. We are so lucky to have this beautiful angel to entertain us. She will never grow old and wrinkled.
When I was in College a few years ago , I sang ' diamonds are a girls best friend " , for a talent show .I wore her iconic pink dress with the big bow. I don't like wigs so , I did my hair in longed haired style from the 50's . people at fist thought I was gonna sing " Materiel girl by Madonna , cuz of my hair . lol and when the fist line of Diamonds came out of my mouth , they were like okay a different take . lol I even got a good review in the campus paper .
Shes an icon and legend. Its very sad that she was mentally ill, nowadays she would have gotten help. Her style, acting talent and intelligence was beyond compare. We love you Norma and youll never be forgotten.
Gawd, she's been gone 50+ years and people are still picking her bones. Say she was complicated and leave this beautiful, talented woman alone. Just let her star shine.
She was very abused by Hollywoods perverse they sqw her one way and wouldn't let her be any other way, she tried to fight back in many ways and they killer her she was smart very well spoken and so much more
People of today should admire her alot because she is real. That's a real body without photoshop, without filter, without plastic. A real beauty looks like this
No she had plastic surgery. A lot of studios including 20th century Fox pressured there actress into getting surgeries unfortunately. She’s still beautiful with or without it though.
She literally wore a corset to be that snatched. This is why her waist is slightly dramatically thin. You can legitimately easily look it up. She was petite just larger than typical thin women in fashion back then. 🤣🤣
@@Jamie-mm8cj but she isn't wearing any fake nails, fake lips, fake chest aur bottom, fake stitched eyebrows, fake hair, tanner color, body foundation or shimmer or anything else for that matter. Fake eyebrows, fake huge lashes. Its just the corset which is not a surgical thing. She didn't went through a fat reduction surgery. Its just a corset that doesn't take away anything out of your body. So she is far better then women of today. She is still natural and very natural.
I was born in 1949 and from what I can remember of her I adored her. There are no movie stars like her today.madonna doesn’t come close to replicating her in that dress! She was so beautiful and I was sad when she died
Not only was she beautiful, but she is such an underrated talent. Watching her movies you can't help but have your eyes drawn to her, even if she isn't the focal point of the scene, for example her brief scenes in All About Eve. She was so troubled, but sadly she was surrounded by so many people who just took advantage of her rather than help her. Ladies of The Chorus such a good movie.
She was the most beautiful creature to ever walk among us and she will remain that way. Saw recently on tv where someone said- she had perfect bone structure.
RIP to such a beautiful and talented Icon with such a tragic story. Your number one remains one of the most iconic shots of all time. Too hard to pick a favorite. Thanks Msmojo for this list❤️
Marilyn Monroe is one of the Ultimate Hollywood legends, and her legend is forever. I sense that she would be so very amazed at our love for her all these many years later.
Her whole life was a long suicide, which is so tragic. If only one person who was supposed to help her hadn't used her mental disorders to exploit her. Her psychiatric doctor benefited shamefully for their own benefit and medical doctors overprescribed very dangerous drugs with recklessness that was practically attempted murder. Her agents wife said trying to help her was to turn your own life into chaos and misery, that almost everyone who knew her ended up either pitying or loathing her. She was unbelievably self centered and narcissistic, but it is her vulnerability that people remember. Knowing what we do today about the Kennedys, I would not be at all surprised if they made sure she wasn't able to "talk". They were complete gangsters, imo. Obviously they were used to covering up inconvenient situations (Chappaquiddick), and Joseph Kennedy made the mafia look like altar boys...
I find the dress from the movie, There's no Business Like Show Business, to be amazing. Its the white one when she sings "When You Get What You Want, You don't Want it". Too bad that one gets overlooked. Just incredible.
She would have been pushing 100 or over 100 what could she do today maybe still play in movies in small roles probably or talk about female singers who is inspired by her she would have died eventually like most of her peers did but she would have seen how huge her legacy is.
The year is 2020 when you have to show off your body parts and figure to be called body positive, or in recent cases you have to show off your cleavage or butt to be body positive. What I’m saying is you don’t have to show off your cleavage or your breast or your but or anything to be body positive but that doesn’t mean you have to hide it- - it is just crazy how people expose themselves to be known for body positivity when really it also adds to moral negativity
Yes indeed 👍🏾👍🏾 And it is called ‘Lack of Wisdom’ in today’s outlook and perspectives on life….. it’s sad that there’s little or no wisdom remaining these day
I just lloooovveee Marilyn Monroe 😍🥰😘 I’m her #1 fan. I have posters everywhere. Even a queen size blanket and pillow. Lighters and more ✨💝💖✨ Constantly adding to my collection ☺️😘 R.I.P beautiful angel 😢😞✨🙏🏽✨
@Trisha Patas it’s a YOU problem that you think ppl dislike the way she looked in that outfit simply because of her success. Beyoncé, Ariana, doja, gaga, kylie are examples of successful women that I support. And even if those women looked bad in an outfit I wouldn’t force myself to like the outfit, I’d simply just say ___ dosent look nice in the outfit, dosent mean she’s ugly just means the outfit is unflattering on her.
Compared with the females of today, she is definetively a natural beauty. No BBL no Lipo, no breast augmentation. Maybe a nose job, but other than that, just real beauty
There was No nose job whatsoever. All she did was remove a Black Mole from the tip of her nose when she was modelling and now The evil Media has fabricated that Record as “A Nose Job” when really Marilyn prided herself in being completely Natural. So natural that she didn’t even wear underwear because she hated Visible Panty Lines (VPL). The Media has faked and fabricated a lot of Medical Records just to generate the ‘Surprise Factor’ and to Shock her fans and essentially to make money because they know Marilyn still sells……. Really sad!!!
I believe that she was the most beautiful actress I've ever seen on the silver screen as well as very multi talented and funny as well, I also believe that her rumored relationships with powerful persons in our government and her somewhat mysterious death led to the huge fascination with her over so many generations, I wonder if all those things had not came into play and she lived to a very old age like Betty White, Would the fascination about her be a little different.
She loved the pink dress and gloves so much in the musical number 'dimonds are a girl's best friend'. That she had it made into the silver dress without the bow on the back. As well as the gloves being made into the silver material.
🍒🍒 you forgot to mention the white dress with cherries in The Misfits or the pink cigarette outfit in The Seven Year Itch!! You could have done a top 50 with Ms. Monroe as she had so many iconic looks. Champagne & potato chips!! Why it's a wonderful party!! 🍾🎉🎀💋💕💞
I say over and over; she was Taken from us far too soon. Comedy was one of her true talents. I can only hope that she would have embraced it in the years ahead. The stories are over and over about how she was such a naturally funny lady, and super kind.
Marilyn Monroe deserved so much better she was such a special individual a lot of 50’s actresses were also naturally gorgeous but marilyn had something special that nobody else had you can just tell it’s her by her face nobody has such a special look
@kiranjit rana No actress has impacted people like Marilyn Monroe on this century, whether you like it or not. And lived much less than the other actresses
Finally something positive about Marilyn Monroe for her fashion i can't stand the tragic and fake rumors about this woman. I am a big fan of MM love her movies, music, make up and fashion she has alot of great red capart dresses in the golden era
One was missing from the list and that was the gorgeous 1911 period style gown she wore almost as her entire wardrobe for "The Prince and the Showgirl"! After Titanic in 1997 this style made a huge come back!
There is this stole which covered her matching white 'silk gown' and all her gorgeous body with the blood of Innocents ‼️🤦♀️ Brigitte Bardot is her contemporary I've been chosen to be my Icon 🌟 With all my due respect and great admiration for Norma Jean's big beautiful brain and pretty face 🧠💋
