Cat people don't seem to have much of a focus on breed as dog people do, at least in my experience, which I think is funny. Like, you'll ask about their cat and they'll just be like her name is Kitty she has short hair and likes to sleep in her fluffy cat bed 😂

I think you have a very good point. I've never thought of it, but there are probably fewer people (that live with cats) that are interested in breeds than are not. Moreover, the ones that are usually are the ones that are into cat shows. For example, I've only lived with one pure-bred (Seal-Point Siamese) in all my years. The rest have all been mixed breeds. However, when people talk about their cats, they don't say "mixed breed". It just doesn't come up. 😼

Yea i never really thought of it that way but me and my friend study about cat breeds sometimes but we're not really experts we just research what they like and there personality I want a Burmese or a Siamese cat since there one of the most easiest cat breed to take care of.

I have learned so much about cats since I was very ill, and spent so much time watching them, before Titch it was the other two, then I split them up to see if they were happier apart, and they are. Luna (the one I am rehoming) is part Bengal so very highly strung, when he gets hyped up he lashes out at Polly and myself. I feel badly as it's nerves, but if he has lots of love and attention he is happy. Titch was a tiny flea covered mess when my former housemate got him. She doesn't know how to look after him so I ended up with him. He needs to socialise but is very loving with me. Hope to see more of Autumn. :)

I love all breeds too, but I'd really prefer for now while I'm still a kid and living with my parents to not own and sick or high-maintenace cats. Plus, I'm going through a tough time so I really just need a friendly cat. So a short-haired, strong, quiet, cuddly, lap-cat.

I recently lost my lovely russian blue cat "Catarina"! She was the best companion for so many years: I saw her aging from athletic young cat to an older quite one..... Same level of affection towards us, just different stages in life! Now I am ready to adopt a new furry friend: I will go most likely for a senior "cat-breed" from a shelter (close to my age and energy level 😂)!

That's lovely! It makes me so sad to see all those poor old cats whose owners didn't want them once they got older, or just couldn't keep them. They need homes too, so they can pass peacefully with someone they love instead of in a cold shelter!

Burmese?? I think you are talking about Sacred Birman... Burmese is shorthaired and yellow eyes, the cat you showes as "burmese" is medium coated and siamese pointed. Also most common colors of ragdolls still are seal (brown) and blue coats, with red, cream, lilac, chocolate and torties getting more and more common.

Cute! I'm considering something like that, since my sister's cat is part Siamese and very quiet, calm and sweet. Not as outgoing and loud as a full Siamese. But he has rounder features, so I'd like something more like a Burmese or Tonkinese.

I have 8 gorgeous mixed-bread cats. They are all different in color and pattern, 3 medium and 5 short hair. although they are 4 from one mom and 2 from another they older mom treats them like if all were hers, including the younger mom. Cats are wonderful!

We have a Ragdoll and 2 American Bobtail cats. The bobtail cats are probably one of the most well-rounded cats I’ve ever experienced. They’re also very fun playful and inquisitive never leaving your side.

I personally think Himalayan cats are best. They come from a mix between Persian and Siamese cats, two very popular breeds, making them furry, playful, and affectionate. I have one and she is the sweetest thing ever

You missed the British Shorthair :D If you like British shorthair cats and think of getting one I want to give you some advice: 1. We have a lot of energy until we are 3 years old. That is when we reach maturity 2. We like to follow you around everywhere: in the bathroom, all around the house, we stay with you in the kitchen while you cook(and not because we want your food, but because we like being near you all the time) 3. We are very curious cats. If you want to fix something around your house we will stay there right beside you until you finish 4. We live around 18 years or maybe even 20. So be prepared to get old with us 5. We like to fetch just like dogs. Just throw me a ball and I will run to get it in my mouth and return it back to you 6. We are pretty low maintenance cats, we are happy with what we have: just a clean litter box, food and fresh and clean water 7. We communicate with you a lot. We like to talk to you and give and receive attention

Tabby isn't a breed, it's a pattern. It's found in American, British and Exotic Short-hairs, Manxes, Maine Coons, Norwegian Forest Cats, etc.

I've got 3 cats, a Tonkinese boy Oscar, a tabby point Siamese boy Ollie and a mixed girl Nona. I did have another mixed girl called Smudge she died in April, lived a long life though managed to get to 21 years despite being thrown away by her first few owners.

I see no Burmese here!!!! Perhaps you meant the Birman.. check again, this is not how Burmese looks like (neither the European or the American)

Yeah, they both show and describe a Birman cat, but accidentally called it Burmese. Good catch.

I believe those *are* Burmese. Long-haired Burmese. Because I looked it up "Burmese cats" and I got results for long-haired ones, too.

Cats, unlike dogs, are very special no matter what their breed. I have seven indoor only cats, all rescues and all different breeds including one Stumpy Manx that is a total love bug. She was a senior's companion and when he passed away her family didn't want to be "bothered" with her so she was signed over to be put down. When I heard about her plight I immediately adopted her. She loves to catch me sitting on my recliner. She will come over, wrap her paws around my ankle, put her head down on my foot and go to sleep. She has even taught one of her siblings, a solid black long haired couch cougar to do the same. What my cats have taught me is that once you have been loved by a cat, no other animal will love you as much.

So true about cats Richard I have 3 myself all mixed breeds my last cat is the neighborhood cat who some mean person dropped off at the pound I rescued her and she has been indoors only since she I kept the name the neighborhood kids gave her she is funny she actually comes when you whistle for her she has tiger markings and a spotted belly 😸🐈🐾

I have a beautiful little Calico, Ragamuffin he had been badly burnt on one side of her body by some evil Villager (I live in Kenya). I just fell hopelessly in Love with her the minute I saw her. I couldn't live without her now.
