Happy ending a was the absolute best. Every single episode was so hilarious. And the characters were amazing. I always thought it was like a modern FRIENDS but set in Chicago.
RadioLaPrincess I agree! almost forgot about it, but yes! waaay underrated for such original content and writing, not to mention the visual ride every episode took you on. LOVE that they compared the story telling to Dahl as well.

Orphan Black is so unbelievably underrated. Nice that Tatiana Maslany is finally getting some recognition, but the show should as well. It's one of the best shows on TV. I'm also pleased that Pushing Daisies got a mention, that was such a great show.
Shameless has a huge following, so I wouldn't necessarily call it underrated. But it is constantly, criminally snubbed at awards shows, much like Parks and Rec. Maybe that's a topic for a list...

You know The 100 is underrated when it is only a honorable mention in the top 10 underrated tv shows. I honestly feel it is up there with The walking dead and Game of thrones.

Wiljam It has 1.8 million likes on facebook and banshee has 340 thousand. It's a very critically acclaimed show,just not enough people watched it in america.

So glad Banshee made this list. Absolutely loved that show. The raid on the Army base to rob it is one of the best hours of television ever produced, period.
For sure, it might be extremely highly rated, and yet that doesn't do it justice, even mentioning it in the same breath as Breaking Bad, Sopranos and Game of Thrones is underrating it.
I feel like Firefly and Stargate Universe deserve a spot on this ist. And I know that Firefly has quite the cult following but it was the greatest crime against television itself to take it off air^^
I notice you mentioned Shameless is adapted from the UK show of the same name. What you may not have been aware of is that Review, which you characterized as one of the most original comedies, is actually an adaptation of the Aussie show, Review with Myles Barlow.
Arrested Development, Hannibal, Bates Motel and Castle Rock are really underrated in my opinion. If you guys haven't seen any of these, I highly recommend them. Especially Arrested Development and Hannibal, cos they're both genius shows.
Party Down and Children’s Hospital really flew under the radar back in the day, even both having a cast crossover episode in CH… I feel like I never see anyone talk about them
Sopranos is one of my favorites forever! Be sure to check out Carnivale, but just know, they cancelled it at the absolute worst time! Imagine if Empire strikes Back didn't have a sequel, or Breaking Bad was cancelled after the episode where Jesse shows up at Gayle's door.
I really liked The River, it was one of those gems hidden away in a late night slot on NZ tv...general rule in Australia and NZ, if it's on after 10pm but before 1am it is probably a good show.
How is Firefly underrated? Nowdays it's one of the most overrated shows. Sure when it was released it was considered garbage and was canceled after just one season and than you could have said that it was underrated, nowdays it's classic.
Warehouse 13 got cancelled in the middle of its 5th season. Unbelievable! 12 Monkeys, Deadwood (HELLO?!), Defiance, The Dresden Files, The Exorcist, The Fades, The Following, Hannibal, Hemlock Grove, Masters of Horror, Outcast, Outsiders, Salem, Surface. At the least, THEY, whoever THEY are, could do America the same service as Europe and release the rest of all the DVDs that are out on PAL only (I'm talking to you too, Scream)!!!
Cole McCarthy You are correct sir. I was under the misapprehension that the 20th century was 1900-1999... nope. 1901-2000. I learn something new every day. It's because there was no year 0, it went from 1 B.C. to 1 A.D. forcing the centuries to begin at 1. Thanks =)

I think some very good underrated live action shows on TV are: The Leftovers Man Seeking Woman The Last Man on Earth Westworld Better Call Saul Fargo Silicon Valley Atlanta Outlander Episodes(which is on the list)
While it is on the CW, not known for grittier dramas, The 100 is definitely worth watching even if the first few episodes are very shaky. I'm glad it was mentioned at the very least.
I find the UK version unwatchable and the US version is my favorite show. So much better IMO, but maybe because I'm from the US and used to the US culture
I don't know about these shows. Based on the clips I just watched, they all seem pretty dreadful. Orphan Black is the only one that seems the least bit interesting. I remember The Tick. The cartoon was way better, and that wasn't anything to go out of my way for.
+supercyberfunk the 100 is probably my favorite show. it's hard to explain without spoiling things but it's an action/drama. after almost 100 years of living in space on a ship called the ark, they send 100 people to earth to repopulate. they are filming the 3rd season now and season 1 and 2 are on netflix if you wanted to check it out.
I enjoy the 100 but there is some campy bits that you have to ignore, and obvious budget limitations, but if you can look past that, it's a fun show to get into. Especially since it's made by CW which has a good track record with NOT killing off shows. *cough cough* fox *cough cough*

I'm just gunna add Forever. Forever was a show that only got one season before being cancelled this year. It was about a monition who helped solve crimes and was very good at it. But, he had a problem with death. Every time he died he would just reserucet. He's been a 35 year old man for I think the time line was 300 years. Was pretty cool to watch.
Testees and Better Off Ted are two shows I've watched probably way too many times. I've meet very few people who have even heard of Testees, it's by the guy who did Kenny vs Spenny, not that I've ever seen that show.
+Rooks Double Oh Seven I didn't even think of Testees, but it should be number 1 on here. That show was so God damn hilarious. Complete shame it only lasted one season.
Dog Bites Man was an underrated mockumentary style tv show, only on 1 season. It was unique in that it pranked unsuspecting people (not actors) to be take part in the show.
+ekswfrenwn7 it was great and under rated or sadly too unknown. But it actually wasn't a show, but a Mini-series. I always felt they could have made it into a show though.
"Todd and the book of pure Evil" deserved at least 5th place. Rating 8.3 on imdb. 2 seasons only Young actors deserve to get famous to continue entertain people. Some episodes are made professional

I never watched the American version but the British version runs for quite a few series and was well received over here, and it has a young James Mcavoy playing his adorable self.
I am happy for Shameless making the list, little bit dissapointed that Jericho didnt make it and curious why Undateable with Chris D'Elia is not even mentioned :(
