I agree with you, remember that Janis used to be Regina's friend during their middle school days. Janis is like the embodiment of Cady's line "I hate Regina but at the same time I wanted her to like me", she's like that she hated Regina but still wanted Regina to notice her or maybe acknowledge her as an enemy or a friend. I also remember that the actress who played Janis once said that she thinks Janis' character is also a mean girl because mean girls could be any girls, there's no requirement saying a mean should be popular.

Well Regina was awful, like seriously she was clearly horrible. The whole exsistance of the Burn Book is proof of that. Then her exposing the Burn Book and making it look like Cadie, Gretchen or Karen wrote the book. Cadie in fact had nothing to do with it, the book was made before she was even there and Regina was the obviously the one who was the ring leader in making it. Janice wasn't much better but played innocent but her only victim was Regina who did even worse things to everyone else in the school. Janice getting revenge was almost like her getting revenge not only for her sake but everyone else in the school too

Finally someone called out Janis' role in this whole scheme. I was on Cady's side in that whole argument. Janis did make Cady like this. That whole plot didn't come from Cady. It came from Janis. Janis was the one who came up with this whole plan. Cady tried multiple times to back out and Janis kept on convincing her. I don't know why ppl act like Janis was so damn innocent. Janis didn't own up to a damn thing. To make things Janis use to walk around like she was so much better than Regina when she really wasn't. Janis sat there and acted as if her intentions were of the purest nature. That prom humiliation from Never Been Kissed was so mean and uncalled for. Josie did not deserve that. She was an innocent girl who just had a crush on the most popular guy in school. She didn't deserve that. The fact that that whole ordeal still haunted her well into her 20s said a lot. What Billy did really hurt her mentally and emotionally. At the same time Josie should've been suspicious. Why didn't she question Billy's sudden interest in her? This guy has ignored her for years and now all of a sudden he wants to take her to the prom. That should've immediately raised red flags. But I guess she was just caught up in the joy of being taken to the prom by the most popular guy in school that she couldn't see it. That scene from A Cinderella Story was horrible. I can't believe it only got honorable mention. Austin Ames was a coward for that. He sat there and allowed that to happen. He didn't make one move to comfort Sam. I also wondered why the teachers didn't make an attempt to stop it. Some other unforgivable moments were left out. What about Tina sabotaging Casey in Ice Princess? That should've been on this list for sure. Tina saw that her daughter was going to lose the competition and she bought Casey new skates knowing fully well that she would not perform good. So that her daughter could make it to sectionals. Who does that? Casey was seriously injured. Casey could've slapped her with a lawsuit. What about the Wildcats provoking Troy to say horrible things about Gabriella in High School Musical. Also another moment from A Cinderella Story that should be here is Fiona hiding Sam's acceptance letter to Princeton. That was unforgivable.
@tiffanygray
@tiffanygray 3 года назад
I absolutely agree with most of what you said. Although to answer your question about why Josie didn't see the red flags, it's really hard to see any kind of red flags when you're that young AND crushing so heavily one someone. Your feelings blind you to the truth... until it's too late.

Here’s a realization: I loved these movies & often found that winning the bad guy in the end, (Travolta & Olivia, Breakfast Club & The Notebook) was the best part! Like Desert at the end of a Meal! The Heroine/victim prevails in the end to win the Jerk, & thus, Honor & Goodness live on! Or how romantic many of the scenes were when obviously the “taking” of the girl & all the disrespect & bad behavior just fall by the wayside & the kiss becomes the true equivalent of the guys true passion & feelings for her, yada, yada, yada! ! And then it dawns on me, wait! That’s how I’ve been treated during my adolescence & teenage years! And worse, my 20’s, 30’s, etc, until I have to admit I didn’t always get the asshole cutie in the end, & they never apologized, it was disrespectful, borderline rape, abusive & so on! So now it’s rather blatantly obvious how seriously fucked up those guys were & worse, my opinion of myself! Shocking to go, Damn girl! You thought that was acceptable and normal? By the time I hit my 50s no one disrespected me and I didn’t tolerate that kind of behavior but I’ve been married three times. And I guess by then I learned a little something. It’s a tragedy that we have to discover ourselves through Ms. Mojo! Even worse how many other girls out there have excepted that kind of behavior as normal?💋💕🕯 No girl should sell her self short just so a guy would like her, or that she get her asked to that one dance, or that she not be alone on Friday nights, or for whatever reason. It’s just not worth losing yourself for a piece of shit like that. In the end it may take a little bit longer but a more honorable & decent person will eventually come along.💕🙏🏼🤘🏼🕯 I just wish they all could look like Nikki Sixx! And then we’d be in heaven!💋💕🕯

The real villain in the scene was Rizzo who knew was counting on how Danny would behave when she caused the two to meet suddenly in public. John Bender is mean to everyone on purpose in The Breakfast Club. He is aware that his meanness causes all the people with detention to bond and unify. Honestly, I really, REALLY like the modern remake of Carrie! Julianne Moore was AMAZING as Carrie's mother!

Carrie is not considered a “teen” movie. It’s a horror movie that just happens to have teenagers as the main characters.

I hate Bender ‘s character in Breakfast Club. Janis in Mean Girls also had no accountability for her actions to Cady which was the most frustrating thing about Mean Girls for me,

I would argue that the worst part of “Never Been Kissed” is the fact that she’s a grown woman and she almost hooks up with a high schooler... and I say that as someone who was a fan of the movie at the time.

The Wooderson place completely missed the mark. That movie is set in the 1970s. The age of consent in TX rose from 14 to 16 in 1995, twenty years later. Also, many groups have an older member. The point of the Wooderson character is that he is so out of place and creepy and utterly clueless.

Stop including the Notebook in these lists when you obviously haven't read the book. Allie was reluctant to go out with Noah because of parental/societal expectations, not because she didn't like him - she obviously did. He knew this and pursued her anyway, because who gives a shit what her parents think. It's the story of people finding love from across societal boundaries and finally choosing each other over everyone else. It's beautiful. It does not belong on this list.

Janis and Regina are complete opposites, yet both are mean girls which is something that I like about the story. Janis isn't even popular and most likely puts an effort in being as much unlike Regina as she can be, but that doesn't mean she's a good person.

It's easy to verbally manipulate old tropes by modern standards. But in doing so you miss the original intentions by leaving out key details. Some of it actually seems intentional. That too is manipulative.

“Secret Admirer” when Michael realize that going out with Debby was a mistake. He comes to Tony’s house after his birthday party to confess that he thought his relationship with Debby would be more like his relationship with Tony. Also “The sure thing” when Gib dreams about Alison instead of “the sure thing” because he developed feelings for Alison.
