I have the 1925 1 penny which I found in my local park here in NZ metal detecting.

That 1925 penny i owned. I sold it for 15k in about 2005. I bought it in a set at auction. The set cost from memory 52k. But there were plenty of good coins. It was bought as a birthday present. Its distinctive because of the carbon on reverse. It was one of 4 that turned up in adelaide in the 1990s.

The 1946 Penny is much Rarer than the Mintage Stated.As many were sent OS with Australian Occupation Troops in Japan.The Japanese were short of Copper and paid Two Shillings for these coins. In Higher Grades indeed very Rare indeed.Should be Number 4 at least.

When I was a kid back in the 60’s people would get a 1938 penny and punch the centre of the 8 to make it look like a 0

I think you misssed the most valuable - the most valuable penny in austalia was the 1937 penny. I was printed when the king abdicated. The minting of them stopped but 7 got out into ciculation. I remember this because as kid in early 60s one was found and sold for about $700 (when 1930,s were about $100)

I have a couple of sets but 1950s i think we were all give a set each but mine are all mixed up and i have no idea , i guess i could look them up i found a 1916 coin but im sure its worthless
