I bought my first motorcycle camper in June of 1999. A Roll a Home, first generation. They are the ONLY camper that has storage under the bed and still has a hard shell floor to stand on, that is off the ground. I had the manufacturer make me a new tent for the trailer in 2018. I got the add a room and the A/C port . I've pulled this trailer from the Midwest to the east coast, to the west coast, to Alaska and back. Only in 2020 did we not ride because of covid shutting the nation down.

Nice quick run through. However, after spending about a month researching these, I believe when looking at them from a user's perspective, the key things are bed size (unless you are planning to travel alone, 54"+ bed width is the minimum), tow weight (which is also stopping weight) including (optional) spare tire plus your gear, and ease of setup (these vary between (literally) 1 minute and 10 minutes, which is a considerable difference in the rain). Some, when open, have floors that are several inches off ground, while other have floors that are on the ground, or are the ground (think rain, again). One of them, the Lees-ure Lite, comes with supports allowing it to be stored on end when not in use (nice if you have a garage). Some have optional electric trailer brakes. If buying used, the tent fabric generally has about a 20 year life, if well card for. Replacement tents run about $1500-2000. (What did I buy? A Lees-ure Lite Excel (wider model), but I bought a used one only a few years old that was for sale near me at a good price; it was not the only contender.)

I bought the Mini Mate in June this year. Picked it up from the factory. It tows so smoothly on the roughest road I have to check my mirtors to makevsure it's still there. Lightweight with a top shelf quality suspension system.

I have a leesure lite that I've dragged all over the US and Canada. Sets up in one min with all my camping gear, including table, chair and mr heater buddy inside. Used this camper in 100 degs and 15 degs for year round fun. Extremely well made and has held up well in heavy wind and rain and light snow. Going on my 6th year with it. It is a great little camper with lots of add on options,

@@PalmdaleGal I have upgraded to a hard sided popup Chalet A-frame and am reluctantly putting my leesure lite up for sale. If you're interested and close to WA state let me know. Mine is like new with led lights and the large wheel option. They sell for over $5000 new. Selling mine for 2900.

@@oldmillrd1506- Interestingly, I just sold my A-frame a few weeks ago. I bought a 2006 Aliner used in summer 2019, slept in it once, and then Covid hit. It sat in my garage, half-open, for over a year. When I went to review it, it had deteriorated a little in the garage over the two hot summers in the high desert area of Los Angeles county, and I realized I couldn't really handle the trailer nor the TLC. So I decided on the Lees-ure Lite, having wanted one for several years. I located one in Utah and it looks like I'll be going to get it in mid-April (after danger of snow is over). Thank you for the offer of yours - I read forums of people begging to buy them! If you post it on FB group Lees-ure Lite - Tent Trailer Club of The World it will sell quicker than you're ready for!

As a ex-motorcycle camper from 20yrs ago with a Motorcycle Camping Group none as the IBMC (International Brotherhood of Motorcycle Campers). I seen everything from Hammocks to Campers used, even a hand made one! As someone that went from a tent to a Timeout Camper, then back to a tent. I think the Leisure-Lite is the way to go in my humble opinion.. I'm hoping to buy one in the future to just car camp... Why don't I ride anymore? Because in the last 20yrs, people drive way worse (smart phones)!.. Good review video too..

The My Pod should not be on this list. It’s way too heavy to be pulled by most motorcycles, and at $10,000; too expensive.

@@jeffreyash7794 a trike (of sorts) is what I ride. 2016 Can Am Spyder RTL. Max towing is 400lbs. Now that could be increased with adding electric brakes to the trailer, but I wouldn’t trust pulling 230 lbs over that Add to that the hitch is rated at just 1000 lbs. So the MyPod is still too heavy. You’d end up having pull it absolutely dry at best.

I notice that you missed a major feature is missing from all of these trailers, the tow hitch is fixed so all of the leaning of the motorcycle is accommodated by the ball hitch, for motorcycle use a hitch should be able to swivel 360 degrees. This allows unhindered lean angles on the bike and if the bike falls over or is decked it will not damage the frame of the bike and total it!

I bought a used Leesurlite in 2000 and towed it all over Louisiana, Arkansas and Texas before I had a chance to attend a family rafting outing near Sacramento. Great trip of a little over a month. Stayed in Taos air a couple of weeks. Loved coming over the mountains into Reno in the snow in June. Cedar City Utah has a great campground in town from which I could see Zion, Bryce and the Grand Canyon. Watch your tire wear but I had no problems with it for six years

@@PalmdaleGal you’ll like it. It’s so easy to pull and set up is stunning. I had a large plastic box I got at academy bolted to the tongue that held all my camping stuff like a big stove, plastic tubs of food. I got some 1’x2’x6” flat tubs that laid flat on the bed when the trailer was folded closed. That held enough clothes for a weeks trip without any problem. When the trailer was up and in use I stacked them up to make a table inside. There is a ton of available space inside. I hope you enjoy yours as much as I did.

@@kimhorton6109- The seller I've chosen made his own metal tongue semi-rack/tray, so your bolted plastic box idea sounds like something I should do on that semi-rack, to protect items... perhaps a cheap ice chest bolted on (not for food use, but for lockable storage)? How tall is the space available on the bed when closed (I would only have a sleeping bag and sleeping pad, at least for the initial trip)?

@@PalmdaleGal there when the cover is folded closed there is about six inches, maybe a little more of space between the mattress and the cover before I found the plastic trays I used to put lanterns stove and clothes in bags but it was pretty messy. The plastic box on the tounge did lock. I held it on the tray with bolts so it would have been tough to steal. I pulled mine with a motorcycle and it was very sensitive to how much weight you had at the front. I used a scale like fishermen use in their boats to shift the load back and forth to make sure I only had about 25 pounds at the front of the hitch. Much less than that and the trailer would wobble enough to be scary. Hope you have fun. It’s a great trailer. The people in Canada were really nice when I called them for parts and tips.

I purchased a Leesure Lite in 2020 after comparing every motorcycle camper on the market. What sold me was the under one minum setup time, which means that in the rain, I'm out of the rain in under a minute.

Can you get to storage like the bunk house,with out opening the tent, does it flip up to storage, like the bunkhouse?

@@trucker-d4161 The storage inside the trailer requires you to open the trailer in order to get at it. Which is why most people elect to get the external storage pod that mounts to the front. The storage inside is primarily for items that you do not need access to while traveling, only when you stop at a camp site. I also store quite a bit on top of the trailer, using a large hockey gear bag that is strapped to the top. It holds things like my law chairs, BBQ, folding table, and other bulk items.

I own a leisure lite, it’s really fast to set up, and is the lightest to pull on the market, it has reasonable amount of storage space with a box in the front to bring more stuff as an option for it! I love to ride several hundred miles, set it up, and get a good night sleep! They aren’t cheap but they are made very well, I’ve used it for 5 years! Have had no problems, and would buy it again! Hope to see you on the road, I’ve gone to Sturgis with it twice!

The evaluator was not familiar with the features of the Roll A Home and sold it short! I didn't see any other camper with a single feature not available on the Roll A Home, including a king size bed!

I agree. I haven't been able to get a hitch, so all I've done is research. I found RAH to be one of the best choices. Also, RAH has a 2 door option and it was stated as a single door.If they could add a 2 burner stove and electric cooler, they'd be number 1.

Much of this information seem obsolete.Many of these companies are no longer in business. If I can find a Mini Mate near California to check out in person I may buy one. They are very hard to find.

Used ones are usually spoken for by friends of the owner. I lucked out on one... many videos about my modifications and camping on my channel. Very pleased with the Mini Mate.

I would never pull a trailer like the MyPod which weighs 630 pounds. That is way too heavy to pull with a motorcycle.

First - check for tow capacity of your car, model, year. Second - read weight of the trailers you're interested in. Third - Take into account that your car's tow capacity includes all passengers, cargo, in addition to the trailer itself. Basically, yes, your 4 cylinder Corolla may be capable of pulling one of the lighter-weight motorcycle trailers. I have a 2007 Honda CR-V (max tow capacity 1500 lbs) and a 2002 Lees-ure Lite trailer.

I bought one of the first Time Out campers way back in 1976, had to put it together. I pulled it with a 500 Honda two up. Covered a lot of miles and into Canada. Probably not ideal but it's what I had at the time. Later pulled with a 900 Custom Honda, no problem. Bigger is better. Thousands of miles, never a problem, great camper! Sold for $100 less than I paid for it

I have a 20 year old Lees-ure Lite trailer (bought just last year) that I pull with a 15 year old vehicle. And as a matter of fact, the Lees-ure Lite IS just a tent on wheels, and does not claim to be anything else.

Moby1 is out of business. Owner stole a customers trailer and insurance money is what he is being charged with. Plus BBB reviews are not so good either.

As I'm looking and looking for something for myself, I'm coming to the conclusion that there's more struggle with it than it's worth. It's better to throw a hammock, mosquito net, tarp in a side bag and you have everything you need.

This is simply a list compiled from marketing material from each manufacturer. There is no ranking based on testing. 2 of the models should not even be considered, as one is a 4 wheel vehicle pulled camper, and the other is out of business due to thievery. smh.

why would you guys go through all the trouble or showing all these videos and not putting any kind of price tag to give people an idea what they can afford. I was always told growing up when someone tries to sell something and there's no visible price tag look out 👀🥶

Just google each model for price and availability. I am putting a spreadsheet together. I assigned values for each of the key characteristics (weight, tire size, head room, bed size, etc.) Easy to do an allows you to determine best fit for your use.

Sorry, I stopped watching at the first trailer #10. Any trailer wider than the mirrors and blocking your rear view is a bad idea. This goes for any vehicle, not just motorcycles.
