Hahaha ur right i never noticed that once! Your funny man ,i like funny it makes me laugh u know what i mean? Like when u smile and sound comes out with it. Anyways keep up the good work 👍 haha wasn't the only one haha u kill me
tbf, I think you have to be quite picky to find mistakes in movies. I've very rarely seen an obvious mistake in a movie that I notice while I'm watching it. That said, I do find "mistakes" interesting. The anachronisms in Titanic are especially interesting.
In case it hasn't already been mentioned - another change was at the end, when Rose is floating on the piece of wood and is looking up at the starry night sky. In the original movie release famous astronomer Neil DeGrasse Tyson commented to James Cameron that the night sky would not look like it did at that latitude and time of year. Cameron changed it in the re-release.
Tyson actually trolled James Cameron on this. He saw it in theaters and spotted the mistake immediately. He was invited out to an event that James Cameron was at and the one thing he was looking forward to doing was pointing out the mistake of the stars location
Titanic was an incredibly difficult movie to make by 1997 standards, James Cameron tried to make it as realistic and accurate as possible and he did it but with a few mistakes like any movie. Regarding the shooting sounds, I feel that they fit well considering the era but the sound design can be better. Titanic, The Lost World, and Starship Troopers all three films competed for the Oscar for best special effects, and Titanic won by pushing the limit of that era and still looking more real than a dinosaur or insect in CGI. Cameron is a perfectionist and probably changed things in remastering because he hates to see those absurd mistakes. By the way in the scene where the ship breaks in two and falls into the water, you can also see a problem with motion tracking, the model slides on the water, and the horizon.
The shooting sounds were actually based on many witnesses' testimony. They heard bullet sounds during the breaking of Titanic (right before or after the lights went out)
Popular00 Bro nobody watching the movie would notice these mistakes either. Just nitpickers who make bullshit videos like this for a living on RU-vid. It's next to impossible to notice any of these mistakes.
The only one I noticed while watching the movie was the doubles in the corridor scene. Nevertheless I don't care at all cause this movie is excellent. I wonder how many oscars the owner of this channel has won. Totally agree with the "bullshit video" description.
I think the reason they used stunt doubles for even the minor action like pulling her over the railing is that if either of them gets injured even just in the form of a scratch, they have to cover that in the make up before each scene after that the following days and that can take hours. It just makes sense to want to protect your main actors from any sort of injury
The only thing that bothered me was when they were running away from Cal's henchman into the main dining room, the next scene they're going the opposite direction. I'm like wut...the ship is sinking from the bow and they were running into the deep water, now they're running out of the water towards the stern. Come to find out it really wasn't a mistake, but a whole big scene of them hiding behind the tables while the henchman tries shooting them was cut out of the movie. So they went towards the deep end of the dining room, he finally gave up and left, then they ran back out of the room. It makes it look like they were continously running, lol.
In regards to the gunshot sound during the breaking apart of Titanic scene, I think they choose the gunshot sound because I remember reading about eyewitness accounts where survivors described hearing sounds like “gunshots” as the Titanic began to break apart.
It wouldn't sound like a .357 magnum, but who would know that? I didn't even think about it not sounding correct when I saw the movie. @@bayousbambino427
As much as I love learning about production detail, I have to say, I am really really bad at spotting movie mistakes unless they are pointed out to me. I can't think of a single time I noticed a real stunt double on my own while watching any movie, for example. Most of the other details in this video I also have never noticed while watching Titanic, and I've seen the movie a handful of times with an eye for detail. I also believe that movies, as released in theaters, might not necessarily perfectly represent the director's original vision, so I don't actually have a problem with them fixing things later over the years as technology improves. As long as it doesn't actually ruin the film, I don't have a huge problem with it. That being said, I do agree that too many digital revisions to an older movie can make the movie feel less authentic.
OF COURSE, IF GO IN SLOW MOTION GONE SEE SOME DETAILS.. THATS DONT CARE AT ALL.. JAMES CAMERON WENT IN TO THE WATER PERSONALLY TO SEE ALL DETAILS.. ABOUT THE TITANIC HE FELL THE PAIN WITH THOSE MANY PEOPLE DIED... THIS IS AN EXTRAORDINARY MOVIE.. AND ALL THE ACTOR.. DOING AN AMAZING JOB
When I was like 10, I was randomly obsessed with Titanic for whatever reason. This was one of my favorite videos about Titanic, and I used to type the most random stuff in the comments describing my obsession. I am currently 13 years old now and looking back at this makes me feel nostalgic yet embarrassed because of the comments I’ve made in the past. 💀
@@Maskedmotionpictures I also commented on other videos related to Titanic. Such as reviews, skits, simulations, animations, and even Gacha content. I even made comments about it when videos that doesn’t relate to the topic mention it or make references about it. I even defended Titanic from people who hated it, made negative comments about it, or people who just plain didn’t like it. I also had a YT channel dedicated to Titanic Gacha Life related videos and I even defended the 1999 Legend Of Titanic movie. I remember most comments and videos I made and simply just remembering it nearly gives me a stroke. But I’m glad that I’m not the only one who had a strange obsession like that. 😃
Very interesting but i disagree with your last point, them fixing issues in the bluray release shows they still care a great deal about the movie, having the chance to fix little things they missed before works in everyone's favour.
No. If they are going to do that they should at least have both versions on blueray. Classic movies are of their time and their imperfections are what give them their character. If you don't get that then you you obviously don't really care for preserving history and classic cinema. Sad!
I know righttt.... its a movie and of course to make changes to make it interesting... this guy has a good point but its just a movie ... there's nothing to do to talk about fixing the movie as long as it won in the oscar... hurray for the Titanic!!!! 😎
@@SuperMikeFender So, TV's are also different now. Then you should just get the old DVD and watch it on a 1996 tv;) This work of art was never meant to be seen on a 50" flatscreen ;) Let the rest enjoy the bluray on their 65" oleds thank you:)
lol, why mad? You should be mad at James Cameron for not making it absolutely perfect. Or just accept that even the best things have their flaws, and don't try to stop people from exposing them.
I've seen this movie long time ago. I notice and remember mistake, the officer on watch order the helm man hard port but the helm man turn the wheel to hard starboard
Even in 2023 it is breathtaking the amount of attention to detail. You can imagine they only had one chance to get it right in many instances eg when the glass dome imploded. There’s a scene where stacks of plates come crashing down every one an exact copy of a white star plate. I still regard this as the best film I have ever seen. Kate & Leo did to Titanic what Vivienne & Clarke did for Gone with the Wind & will be forever associated with the story.
“When the movie is out in theaters it should never be corrected” 1 minute ago:here let me fix this and add motion if the movie should be changed don’t point out the mistakes
The one at 7:34, I can explain it. Possibly, this shot exists in it’s own world, where the Carpathia arrives in time. This can’t apply to the rest of the movie, but stiiilllll… it’s just an idea.
TimeLordParadox I mean it’s supposed to be late in the sunset to the point where the sun has already gone down and it’s not like there are supposed to be clouds in the sky it’s just the sea and the sky
Meh I don't really care about the mistakes I love the movie so much that I don't really care seriously 😂😂 Who doesn't love the titanic (some people don't)
Majority of the mistakes are related to Visual effect. 1. I would like to add one important one, the music playes the group in third floor while party at the end main person says Drowsy Maggie which is released in years later in 1973, and Titanic disaster happens in 1912 2. Another one when Jack meets the rose before the dinner at the clock, he kissed her and reference to the Nickelodeon, Nickelodeon was launched in 1977 3. At the end music group was playing music when also they referred the tunes was also invented way after Titanic.
I agree but it’s also very interesting to see the mistake I get it’s a old movie and it will have mistakes but it’s really cool learn how and what the mistakes are!
“look at jacks face, he looks like a demon” i laughed way too hard at this😂😭 edit: i just watched some more of it and i just realized how fkn funny this guy is😂😂 “might as well put in mario”
The movie is so intriguing I never noticed any of these mistakes! only a petty person would! LoL the movie was made to entertain and push The Narrative of the story in which it did so brilliantly! The CGI on this film was the most advanced technology at that time but still it was only a movie and all movies have mistakes!
Because these mistakes are only visible if you watch the movie frame by frame and only by a person with knowledge in this matter. Normally 99% of the people won't notice them. But what is clearly visible and looks terrible is the color grading in blu ray version. 8:09 Natural tone of colors was replaced with this greenish Matrix style tone.
The second mistake made me laugh so hard. Jack getting his hand chopped off is hilarious. Anyways, I like the fact that they correct the mistakes. It makes a film a much better product, but I have this movie in three different formats, so I guess I can always go back and watch the original release product. I hope they do more changes to the 4K version when released.
This is good to see for information purpose only. For me, no matter how many mistakes, too obvious, funny, or if they say it's not good movie, there's no doubt that this movie is one of the best and really can be considered the greatest. And I'm confident that so many like me here been really impressed with the it since then, until now and for generations to come.
@@i_am_aladeen Definitely. She cuts off his hand, he bleeds to death with her crying next to him aka the same dialogue as they had out on the water only he dies of blood loss instead of freezing in the water. Rest of the movie is about her hanging off the back of the ship, yadda yadda, gets up on the piece of paneling, takes his last name on the rescue ship, rest is the same.
Save the light in the upper deck and the reflection on the glasswork on the door (always look at any reflecting surface if you want to spot mistakes) they were barely noticeable, but he missed the rubber bollard which was pretty evident.
Astronomer Neil deGrasse Tyson had Cameron change the star pattern in the sky when Rose looks up while on the driftwood. This was changed for the 2012 re-release of the film. Tyson had sent Cameron an e-mail complaining that the stars that were shown were not what would have been seen at that latitude on April 15. Tyson supplied Cameron with the correct star positions and Cameron made the changes.
Fun fact, every scene on titanic that's in the hallways are wrong because it shows railings on the sides of the corridors and the original titanic didn't have any.
It's just interesting to see their mistakes We know everything isn't perfect but i still think it's interesting to see when they made mistakes because i never see them when i watch the movie
Unless your soul purpose is to spot mistakes it is highly impossible to spot those mistakes just because you will be too busy getting so emotional the entire movie.
8:04. That wasn't cheating. Rose actually punched the guy in the right cheek. Not the NOSE. You can see that by going frame by frame. Also another reason the aforementioned mistake being fixed on blu ray wasn't cheating is because if you get punched in the cheek, you wouldn't get a nosebleed. If rose punched the Guy's NOSE, it wouldn't have been an error.
Holy shit dude you are so funny! The Mario and axe parts killed me XD I can forgive all the other mistakes... but the gun sound when the ship breaks in half? Come on! They couldnt come up with another sound? "Ok so we need sound for the scene when the ship breaks in half. Any ideas?" Sound guy: "Fuck it lets just use the gun sound we used earlier. No one will notice" LOL
I think they might have done it because of witness testimonies. A lot of research was done into the disaster, including interviewing passengers to get their testimonies, even though there's no mention of it online, someone could have described the breakup as sounding like gunshots, possibly due to some rivets or portholes bursting under the immense pressure, they did cop out on the sound though, could have used a far more effective gunshot and mixed it with others to be a little less noticeable, but still effective.
The trick to creating audiovisual stimuli is you have to make the call between the "larger than life" dramatic events and the overarching story or realism. "That's a gunshot" is what you want the audience to hear and identify, but what is it telling the audience and what story does it tell? The man, or people, are panicking, they are willing to risk being shot, life and limb, to bustle about and escape their doom! Muahaha!(Also that law and order now requires Gun/ultimate authority to stand firm! Woah! Rather than just general respect and rules and regs.) - the reason the gunshot seems distracting (as we watch it back) is because we don't see the tension build up that precedes it, we're not watching it in context. In truth when the officer in question brandishes the gun and we hear it being fired, it's exactly as described earlier. Fun homework: Try watching Reality TV with the sound off. Without the audio to accentuate the visuals the whole thing falls apart and it looks trashy and actually somewhat pitiful. I mean, it usually looks pitiful anyway, but this factor is accentuated. I wouldn't say that any of these film "mistakes" are even "mistakes" - they're necessary things that either had to be done to film it, make sure people's contracts were fine or that it fit into the budget. And yeah, it's quite a meme to look through these as "failures" , when really we should be impressed! Greatly impressed! The work they did, the stitching together, it's coherent, it tells the story. Most people are fooled, students of film perhaps not. But, students of film are students, and they're studying the masters for a reason. Movies are not historical document, they are fictional stories about fictional things. "Based on true story" - everything is based on a true story somewhere or other, and it's all painted using the sense data of the creative minds at work. Film is just an accentuated vision of reality designed to get you behind your TV set and embraced in the drama. Overall fun stuff, but these gaffs aren't gaffs!
I really enjoyed your video. I ll tell you why: A lovely detailed explanation for each and every mistake made, and I love how you express your thoughts, with a lot of transparency and accuracy. Keep it up.
