@EdgePlays It's true, it doesn't matter if they're drenched in blood or shambling towards them, they still have to try to give them the chance to surrender even if they lost their minds.
It's standard procedure because they don't know there is a virus let alone an infection. For all the police know she can be mentally ill or insane (and yes they are obligated to help her if she was mentally insane).
Good luck even tho I'm commenting a week later but next time you get it I have your support, I know this may sound weird be I understand you. Once on my 5th birthday. I was soo sick, I couldn't move AT all. If I did it would bring sharp pain. So I don't know what I had. But I just hope nobody gets it. It was horrible.
Hamon Ain’t nobody said something about clout, I don’t know if your talking to me or the person we’re commented under but still don’t be commenting this ;-;
I honestly think 28 Days Later is the scariest film ever made, purely due to its depiction of society after a virus outbreak and how the intentions and morality of people can be brutally twisted because of it.
When you're an Island continent, isolated from the rest of the world, it's easier to do so. BUT with air travel, even Australia COULD get infected. A tourist could be contagious but not symptomatic and infect people before s/he does come down with something
Le Tigidou Some adults didn't develop immunity, which posed the possibility of the virus mutating to the point where it can be transmitted to other adults.
cdcdcd6777 watch the movie world war Z of Brad Pitt. You will understand how they create new strain of virus and how they use and against who and how they earn by vaccinations.
+Imyournewpeppep They're not talking about the movie. They're talking about the VIRUS. And speaking as, a writer, as good as the film REC is, the explanation for the zombies is pretty weak. For me, it almost stopped the film from being scary; the virus explanation was so laughably bad it sounds like it could have come from a B movie. The virus in Quarantine is not the same one as the one from REC. It's a lot cleaner and tighter in terms of storytelling, and I'm not surprised they went with that one considering they are ONLY talking about the virus and not the film it's from. Stop being so butthurt about it; there's nothing more annoying than those "THE ORIGINAL IS THE BEST MOVIE TO EVER EXIST AND EVERYTHING ASSOCIATED WITH THE REMAKE SUCKS" purists. It's not true; no movie remake situation is that black and white.
LordofFullmetal The remake did suck though. REC should have been there whether there was a good explanation of the virus or not. It was pretty clear what caused the virus if you watched the films.
I remember the looks on peoples' faces as we left the theater, when "Contagion" was over. Everybody kept looking at their hands, & then the railing or doorknob, whenever they'd touch it. I even saw a couple of them take disinfectant hand-wipes from their purses or wallets, and they used them to grip the metal.
Anyone else notice that the movie contagion has some parallels to CoV-2019? For example both viruses initially present themselves as a cold. Shit's getting spooky.
The concept of "Cabin Fever" is a bit far-fetched, but otherwise very chilling. It features necrotizing faciitis as the killer, but a vicious and highly contagious strain (infection through bodily fluids, either by sex, kissing, or contaminated food).
I watched it at 9. My heart pills make me too brave so I don't have probs with those films. I laugh soooo hard when the guy put the fingers in her eyes
The Guy who Sleeps in your attic I agree I love that movie and have seen it 100 times and it never gets old. And it is realistic. I own it on DVD and I might need to clean the disk now that I have seen it so Many times it is skipping.
Fun Fact: Director Eli Roth (Director of the film Cabin Fever) got the idea from a ringworm infection that he had in 2002 when he was in Iceland. The infection caused his skin to peel off and eat itself and when he shaved his face, huge chucks of flesh would peel off. The infection is real, just not as extreme.
I had ring worm once. 2 of them appeared on my leg and was terrified as I'd watched a video about strange infections. I went to the doctor's and they gave me this cream to apply and in a few days it was all gone and I haven't had any reoccurences since!
I agree, but I also see the fact that what is going on in REC is NOT a virus! Which is super confusing unless you've seen REC 2, which I highly recommend doing.
Well apparently Scotland was isolated in 2008. But I must have missed that because I live in Scotland. Have done since 2001. And I don’t remember being shut off from the rest of the uk and left to die.
DollaBoy2202 SPOILER ALERT I've seen both quite long time ago and I remember the last scenes of Quarantine. The reporter is in the apartment of someone, everything is dark, she has her camcorder and there are creatures (demons?) around her and she's dragged away. I don't know, if I mix up things, though.
Gandalf Lala Yeah it has the same ending as [Rec], which makes absolutely no sense, since Quarantine 2 is on a airfield and [Rec] 2 is in the same building as the first one and goes a little more into detail what happened in part 1
Sam Sweeney almost 10,000 infected and 200+ deaths. Still not so lethal but there isn’t a cure yet and infection rates are sky rocketing. It’s not such a bad virus just super super contagious
Quarantine? Are you fucking kidding me? QUARANTINE? That's gotta be one of the worst attempts at a remake Hollywood has ever done. It is in fact a comedy in my eyes. And the worst part is that you're not even americans, so you have no reason to choose that piece of shit movie over REC, the best horror movie of the 2000s.
I hear ya. Quarantine was a pathetic attempt at remaking the original [REC]. Makes you wonder why they even tried to remake it? Was it because the original was in spanish? Someone told me that Americans are not able to watch subtitled movies because they can't read too fast. Surely it's not true...
MasterBata might be because people don't want to read a movie like it's a book and would rather have it remade so the people can understand and just listen, most logical answer
MasterBata nah thats not true....it's coz the over all IQ in America rarely gets above 26 .They have hard nuff time if 2 ppl talk on screen at the same time,in English ! .So expecting them to read 1 line at a time while having to work out wich mouth on screen it's coming from just aint gonna happen....far easier to just remake, dumb it down and have them speak in good ol American.
Rocktank1010 That's a lame excuse. You learn how to read when you're a child, you shouldn't have any trouble reading subtitles in a movie. Like the rest of the non-english speaking world that watches Hollywood movies with subtitles, and do you hear us complaining? Sure we have dubbed movies, but those are even more pathetic than remakes just for not reading, they destroy the acting completely.
"Quarantine"....seriously? I don't get why you Americans have to pick great movies from other countries and redo them in English just because you don't get the time to read subtitles! The original Spanish movie "Rec" in so much better than this "Quarantine" americanized version. If anybody is thinking about seeing that movie (which is great by the way!) please see the original Spanish version "Rec".
Because the majority of Americans are fucktards who hate hearing anything other than English and don't feel they should have to read the language we apparently feel the whole world should speak. God forbid. I honestly think it's because we're either egocentric or because we're just plain lazy. And it's not like Hollywood is going to pass up an opportunity to make money...
More like Anti-American movie remakes :P It seems America is horrible at it... I saw the Japanese re-make for the Powerpuff Girl's show... Powerpuff Girls Z. And it's different! But I quite enjoyed the spin... America can't even dub properly half the time, though... How the hell can we be expected to make a proper movie remake?!
The outbreak in World War Z was scary to me. A lot of people didn't like that movie for some reason, but I did. Also, Cabin Fever, freaking terrifying. Awesome to watch, but terrifying to think about the possibilities. *shivers*
If only one out of the millions of new "movies" they've made recently could even be as good as a few of these listed movies they'd be getting somewhere that's for sure.
The "Quarantine" movie was a really bad attempt at "translating" the "RECº" Spanish movie. It's like the Director saw that movie and was like:"I should make a really bad version of this movie in English."
They’re similar, yeah, but MEV-1 from the film had a significantly higher mortality rate than COVID-19 does. You’re highly likely to survive COVID-19 the way it is now as long as you’re not old or have any underlying health conditions.
Beauty_by_vany look dude the current corona virus is just an empowered flu that destroys your lungs and if u look at all the deaths of that virus u will find out that they are all elderely people above 50 and 60 cuz their immune system is to weak but those who are still relatively young can fight off the virus with just their immune system in 2-3 weeks if they have an above average immune system
Am I the only one who really likes "the stand" by Stephen King? (the plague) Though it was a long time ago I saw it and I'm really sure that it was a movie.... but now that I googled it it says it's a television series... :(
+Eli Spacecyborgunicorn Because people have corrupted the meaning of the term "mini-series" They either forgot about or to young to even know about, the mini-series era of the 70's-90's (Roots, Shogun, The Stand)
On a "shit your pants" scale, 28 days later definitely deserves 1st place. Kudos to the director for also adopting that weird 'shaky framerate' sort of thing, which i find to magnify the brutality.
And now the coronavirus. Anyone here after recent news of coronavirus? Who’s watching since what is happening on China with the Coronavirus? 2020, now there's a new unknown virus spreading in China and is in America already.
ShowOff_RZ they are possessed through bites and blood exposure making it a bio hazard (almost like rapies except demonic)... thats something mojo should of really looked into.
SPOILERS!!!!!!!!!!!! Yeah, I saw that, pretty creepy!! And what a plot, I must say!! Plants, trees, shrubs, flowers and bushes get fed up with the way we treat them, so they unleash deadly pollen spores on people, and the next thing you know, people are jumping off of rooftops!! And the ending!! Just when all seems normal again, it starts again in France!! "Mon Dieu" indeed!! SPOILERS!!!!!!!!!!!
Torain Walker you gotta watch some zombie movies, they help a lot, but to be honest I’m just obsessed with zombies and if there were to be an apocalypse I would neva die
Aaron Staley Little known fact: 20th Century Fox has retained the franchise rights and in 2030 plans to release "28 Years Later." It's all about a couple of kids who escaped the quarantine camp and are adopted by a Canadian couple. The kids grow up, go to school, graduate, and become scientists. Then one of them falls in love with a zombie kept as a test subject in their lab. He releases it and they move in together, but society just can't accept their love. Rob Schneider in: "28 Years Later: The Romeo Protocol." Rated PG-13.
Aaron Staley my only issue with 28 weeks later is how incredibly stupid the second outbreak is. I mean..you survive the first outbreak, gather up the survivors on a small island, bring inn 1 woman who is confirmed infected, but for some reason immune...and you dont leave a single guard watching her? And you let her husband kiss the bitch? Come oooon, like that would ever be allowed.
The problem is that REC was not a disease film, but a Satanic infection film. REC could not have made this list because those people were possessed, not sick.
not a rip off. just an american remake. happens a lot with foreign films where they make it in english. and to be fair in my OPINION, quarantine had a better virus and so i preferred it.
***** Quarantine is gold. I've seen it twice and want to see it again, and from what I hear the 2nd one is even better. Its sad that everyone dying is rare in Horror Movies, at least they got it right in that movie...Oops, spoiler.
Mike Hawk Enjoy it as much as you want. The 2nd one at least tries to be original, even if it's based on an old concept that something like 28 Weeks Later already did. But I'll admit, it wasn't that bad.
wv9mm Yeah, I never thought that knowing how to fly a helicopter in combat was a pre-requisite of working @ USAMRID. Yeesh - what a clusterfuck that movie was.
@@EphemeralProductions you are wrong. You can get reinfected from this virus and the second times you get infected you get septic shock and die. The governments are not freaking out for no reason
***** you are right about the people being of possession but it was shown that it was figured that possession was also biological.it was explained in rec 2
