Oh yeah, no shit! I can't believe I didn't think about Falling Down. "Oh wait. I'm the bad guy ... when did that happen?" Underrated movie indeed. The Michael Douglass performance that gets overshadowed WAY too much by Romancing the Stone and Wall Street.
I semi agree. Erase most of the list because most of the movies suck and nobody needs to watch them. Yes, this includes Ferris. That isn’t a good movie. It’s watchable, but it gets far more praise than it’s worth. Bring on the hate internet! I’m not going to change my mind!
#10: Dazed and Confused (1993) #9: Night of the Living Dead (1968) #8: Ferris Bueller's Day Off (1986) #7: Dog Day Afternoon (1975) #6: Magnolia (1999) #5: The Breakfast Club (1985) #4: High Noon (1952) #3: Do the Right Thing (1989) #2: 12 Angry Men (1957) #1: Die Hard (1988) Honorable Mentions: - Glengarry Glenn Ross (1992) - Run Lola Run (1998) - Rope (1948) - Clerks (1994) - American Graffiti (1973)
_Ferris Bueller’s Day Off_ deserves its praise, not just for its quotability but its gamble for being set over the entire day. I get that he can be a bit of a jerk, but who wouldn’t want to see what your hometown has to offer instead of learning the skills you’ll use throughout your life?* *When my high school had its senior skip day, I did the right thing and was cool by staying in school, so sue me.
The Taking of Pelham 1 2 3 is right up there. Denzel's remake is serviceable but the original, starring Walter Matthau and The City of New York is one of my most favorite movies ever.
My suggestion for a list : Modern movies shot in black and white, like Schindler’s list, Ed Wood and more. Also another list I would love to see modern movies set in the 80’s: like Boogie Nights, The Wedding Singer and more.
The Swimmer. Burt Lancaster. what a simply unique bizarre, wait ... what's going on in this movie, movie. Great call. A must see sleeper flick for serious movie fans.
Run Lola Run had a great rerelease. I missed the chance to see it. Got the trailer of the Rerelease at AMC before Three Old Boys Shame Run Lola Run wasn’t Oscar nominated for Best Foreign Language Film
It takes place in two days in the story. The scene in the sea with the eels takes place before Humperdinck say “by this time tomorrow we will be wed”. It also has a prelude taking place a few years before. Using grandfather and grandson time is a loophole that would technically count as less than a day. That movie is my favorite btw
@@Blazedragonlord That’s the story from the book. The actual film all takes place in the kids bedroom with his grandpa reading the book to him at Christmas.
@@samrich4life you think I didn't know that? I'm just saying, which is more impressive? Setting a whole movie in one day or setting a whole season of a TV show in a day?
Friday the 13th parts 2, 3 & 4 are all in one day ! Lol. Ok, ok, not one day, but, if you do the math of part 2 leading into part 3 , and part 3 leading into part 4, all three movies would have taken place in the same week, 😂. It doesn't add up , but I still love those movies. 🩸🔪
@@Skygrey2943 Ah, yes, and I can hear those empty, clanging 'finger' bottles now: "Warriors! Come out to Plaaayaaay! Warriors ....!" clang clang clang clang , "Come out to Playyyaaay!" A classic never gets old.?!!
Oh yeah. Elizaberh Shue! Good call. Good 80's high school movie. Also, like your Jonny Quest pic. I had a beagle dalmatian mix with mask-like black around the eyes. I named him Bandit after a certain cartoon dog. My dog didn't bark as much as the more adventurous pup.😉🙂
3 o'clock high which was heavily inspired by High Noon. a geeky kid unknowingly initiates a fight with a bully. they set the fight for after school at 3:00. jerry spends 90% of the film trying to get out of the fight.
