I'd add Dan Simmons to the list. And Liu Cixin, this works and vision of future technologies are sensational. And J. Dukaj, although only his less-impressive works are available in English. Still, his vision is unparalleled. Very nice video, cheers!
I know you restricted yourself to 10, but Iain M. Banks is up their with the greatest. The Culture novels are amazing. Sadly, we lost him when he was at the peak of his powers.
It's criminal to make a top 10 scifi list without mentioning Liu Cixin. The Three Body Problem is some of the best science fiction ever written. Otherwise, great list! These guys are the GOATs of the genre.
There are so many amazing authors, they can't be all listed in one or even a hundred videos. How about Vernor Vinge with his Fire Upon the Deep? Larry Niven? Glen Cook with the Dragon Never Sleeps? What about Roger Zelazny? The importance of Lord of Light can hardly be overstated. I can go for hours, naming old and modern writers... Oh well.
I feel like Asimov hasn't aged well. Philip K. Dick had these great ideas, but he wasn't a very good writer. I often wonder if he was the real Kilgore Trout.
