Joe Mega I don't really understand you because all the caps and the messed up grammar , but i seem to recoganize you were saying something about brain tumor ? yeah, you do look like the kind that have a brain tumor , I suggest you to see a doctor soon , m8 ~ :)
I'd take Cage over 90% of the other actors because this man NEVER sleepwalks through his movies. He always gives his best shots and if he knows he is in a silly flick he goes into total overdrive and gives the most enjoyable scenerychewing one could imagine
Andre Martänz So true! He never phones it in the way so many actors do. He is throughly dedicated to honing his craft and it shows in movie after movie.
Andre Martänz I somewhat agree, like when I and a friend watched Stolen. Sure, we did laugh a lot and in a way that made us enjoy the movie but I don't really think that, that was what the director had intended with his movie.
MegaOnkan stolen is a prime example of an unbelievably dull flick with noone really giving a crap and if Cage did nor at least try to do something with his part it would be unwatchable without falling asleep. Still no flick i'd watch a 2nd time, but I appreciated Cage
Andre Martänz Yeah, no I totally agree, script wise it's was just really really bad. But as you say, Nic Cage is the only really good thing about that movie. I just have to ad one thing that made this movie extra memorable. And that's the part were Nic talks "Swedish" to Malin Åkerman. As a Swede, that part just made me burst out in laughter. It's not that I think Nic Cage made a horrible new language performance... even though he sounded pretty funny. It just shows how dull this movie, script wise, really is when they try to make it "extra cool" i guess with a scene like that. I guess my point is that I really don't understand why he agrees to do these movies in the first place.
MegaOnkan well we know the last few years he had to agree to pretty much everything they offered him due to his financial problems ans sometimes (left behind) you can actually tell he is not giving a fuck... even not enough to chew the scenerie
OMG, yes, Leaving Las Vegas, a movie that had me enthralled every moment, but I could never watch again. He was amazing in it, but it was so dark that once was enough for me.
:P I think he knows his reasons best. Maybe it's for the money, or because he likes the theme. Best thing of the world; Opinions are subjective. You don't have to like the movies.
Jesse Pauls I can't remember where, but he has already said that the reason he's in so many movies is that he likes being in movies. I wasn't insulting him; it's awesome that he has the talent to be able to support that.
Snowskeeper Ferenczy I heard once that he only acts in movies that offer him top billing and an obscene amount of money. I actually like good old Nic, but I think he needs to learn to read through roles, and not look at what they pay.
I had the weirdest dream about Nicholas Cage last night... I dreamt that I turned on the TV and they were saying Nicholas Cage killed 18 people. Then it went to an interview with him where they were asking him why he did and he was like 'Well, you know, one day I just woke up and went to take a shit and then I decided to kill 18 people. I was so scared after, it was the most thrilling experience of my life, it was such a rush!' Then they asked him if he would ever do it again and he was like 'I think once was enough, but you never know.' Then later on I saw him in the elevator in a suit and he was smiling at me. It was legitimately scary.
"One day I just woke up and went to take a sh*t and then I decided to kill 18 people." Possibly the funniest thing I've read on the internet in months.
I've been thinking just the same, I just watched the The Killing Joke, and i think he would do an incredible amazing performance on both pre-accident and post-accident parts...
i love the fact that he's in bad films, i think thats where he thrives because my fav nic cage moments are in the worst films. i say, keep em coming nic
Not completely true. I've seen some of his movies from as far back as 1990 and I've always thought he was a horrible actor. Gone in 60 is good - because Angelina Jolie! National Treasure isn't bad, but only because of Sean Bean and John Voight (Angelina Jolie's father btw).
n122vu He was a lot more consistent with good roles is what I was trying to say. Like these days it's typical b-grade crime action flicks with shit production values, but the 80s and 90s saw some really good films from him.
such a hard working actor. the thing about nick is that his act itself isnt bad, yet the movie and the script is always so dumb. its so humorous when nick is so dedicated to suc abominations.
Nick Cage is my favourite actor. If i had it my way i would have all films remade staring Nick Cage, he would also play every single role in each film.
I honestly can't tell if he's a really good actor or a really bad one. He blurs the line between overacting and dedication to role, and I love him for it.
I couldn't agree with StrangelySuspicious27 more. Is he great, or is he terrible? After all these years, and watching him in some of my favorite movies (Raising Arizona, Ghost Rider, Kick Ass), I still haven't made up my mind.
I think what is, is he chooses alot of movie, and alot of these movies are crap, it may be his fault, or it could be a bad script, or maybe he's just not fit for a certain role. When he does star in a good movie, that has a part he fits into, it's useally freaken awesome. My two favorite of his movies are "The Croods" and "Kickass".
I think he's a great actor, he just has some not so good roles here and there. I really enjoy his performances and I honestly never thought he would be one of my favorite actors, but he definitely has become one.
He's a great actor, but most of the time out of place to the movies he's in. What he needs is his acting to be highlighted with the same level of casts and directors like him.
I saw once Nick and his family once in the New Orleans Airport. Many people approached him to get an autograph and talk to him. I just couldn't believe how cool he was with his fans.
Even though he's a crazy actor, Nicholas Cage still has an Oscar for Leaving Las Vegas and I'm surprised that there wasn't a scene from that movie in the Top 10
@@AngelofMusic04 They don't stand on their own, The Two Towers is nothing without FOTR and ROTK, it's just one film. Kind of like how Ford Coppola considers Godfather Parts I and II to be one film and how Tarantino considers Kill Bill I and II to be one film.
If "Vampire's kiss" performance wasn't on purpose like that, it would be the worst performance ever. But knowing that it was intentionally that way, it is the best performance ever.
What people don't get is that Cage is a Surrealist ... his acting was always in the Dada realm from the earliest days ... his work in Raising Arizona was Oscar worthy in my view - but people often mistake genius for mediocrity because bland people don't know what genius IS! That's for the Genius to TRY to show them ... them seeing it or not is a whole other story. Cage is a legend ... check him out in 8mm ... he can play serious straight down the line when he needs to. His popcorn films of the last decade or so have not been high points for me ... I think he was cashing in but he earned it.

lol his face when that men's soul is dancing xD hahah
Best moment is when he's looking in the mirror after taking drugs in the film "Face Off" and that woman walks in and he turns around with that terrifyingly insane "face"
"I said... put the bunny back in the box". Love you guys for including this. It's probably my most favorite Nicolas Cage dialogue. It's hilarious and awesome at the same time.
+Sam Hawes a great one, watch "bad lieutenant", outstanding performance in an ok movie. cage is also part of a hollywood familiy, his uncle is francis ford coppola, the director of "The Godfather".
Honestly Cage is a really good actor for certain roles. He's kind of just imagined now as this total nutjob, but he's had his good moments. He was excellent in Lord of War, for example.
Implying being a nutjob is a bad thing in acting...Seriously, people who say he's a bad actor probably haven't watched a single one of his good movies, which actually are old enough for people to miss them, or not very well known, like Port of Call. No one saw that film yet it came in 2009. It's a shame. This IS a good actor, but people tend to link the actor and the characters and confuse acting with personality in real life.
PapeBlaSit Ok, let me rephrase that. Acting like a crazy guy does take work. But what I'm saying here is that for serious roles, Cage can also be awesome.
I'm really surprised that for the Vampire's Kiss pic, one didn't go with the scene where Cage is basically trying to channel Bela Legosi in staring down his secretary. Which became the "you don't say" meme.
My favorite moment of Nicholas Cage is "The Green Smoke" from "The Rock" (1996). This is the best action movie and far best of Michael Bay's work. Cage started to use two green sticks to contact that they're safe and there's no danger. But until the most remarkable scene where they spot Cage and they told them to abort the mission. The jets fly up and drop one missile through the air and Cage forces up the air with the explosion and falls into the water. I love that scene and you can hear that Zimmer's orchestra that speeds the plot and Cage has done terrifically for that green smoke scene. Even Bay did bad movies like Transformers and Pearl Harbor, this is the one best Bay movie I ever seen. Check it out.
Yeah,Snake Eyes started as a very interesting movie but ended reaaally crappy when a combination of bad wheather, some stupid reporters and a giant think suddenly kills the bad guy(Gary Sinise).Nevertheless,The family man was a really good movie,he was so sweet there, and Leaving Las Vegas was very touching.
I have to admit that although he isn't exactly what I call a good actor and not exactly eye candy material, he does however have a lot of presence and charisma that somehow attracts me and other people to want to watch him for some reason.
Yeth both Car accidents also have a lot of presence and charisma that somehow attract people. I guess what I'm saying is watching Nic Cage is like watching an accident happen over the course of a film.
So literally my stupid phone froze, and guess what happened? The best moment in my life. It froze on the thumbnail of the video which was Nicholas Cage making a weird face. So then an ad for mascara said, "This is a great mascara brush to make your lashes nice and thick," all while my phone was frozen on his face. God bless RU-vid.
That moment was overshadowed by the one where he sat down and started eating Jelly Beans from a martini glass while watching videos of chimpanzees doing karate.
***** Im talking about 2013 and 2014 , he is an awesome actor and National Treasure its not the kind of movie i would like to see him play.I like the old Cage movies way better . Lord of war was great and i think its underrated.
