Fun fact - Even though TNS's Men's senior team plays in the Welsh Pyramid, their Women's Team plays in the English Pyramid. Conversely, Swansea's Men's Team play in the English Pyramid, whilst the Women's Team plays in the Welsh Pyramid.

OK here is one for you. The Principality Stadium in Cardiff, which has been used for Welsh football internationals. It used to be known as the Millennium stadium and was used by the English FA for cup finals whilst Wembley was rebuilt. The two tiered goal end at the stadium is directly connected to Cardiff Blues RFC ground, to the point where they both use the same entrances and steps into one of the stands at Cardiff Arms Park (Rugby club ground) and the Principality Stadium. Basically when they were building the new national stadium. The WRU who own the stadium tried to bye Cardiffs Blues RFC ground they refused to sell. It restricted the amount of land the WRU could use so they came up with this solution to build the stadium to its largest capacity they could without knocking down the rugby club ground. If they had bought the ground it was estimated the capacity of the national stadium would have been around about 80000. It was once used by a Welsh league club for European games once.

Although you mainly focus on English Non-League, you should do a video on Maryhill Juniors, a team in the Scottish pyramid - very interesting story with them! Financial struggles and other things may force them to disband, with professional teams such as Partick Thistle almost offering friendlies (with nothing consolidated as of yet) Great video again man!

Just on Shieldfield Stadium - you may wish to mention the ground of Tweedmouth Rangers (Scottish tier 7, I believe) abbutts directly onto Berwick Rangers ground.

One thing for Welsh sides that play in English non league, that would persuade them to back to the Welsh League is that teams that get to the Welsh Premier have the chance to play in Europe against some of the top european sides. Also Oswestry FC used to play in the Welsh League before they merged with TNS.

The closest grounds... Squires Gate FC and Blackpool Wren Rovers FC. The two grounds couldn't be any closer as they are side-by-side. In addition, AFC Blackpool play just over the road.

Guernsey play in a league that includes many teams in east Kent. That must be a fair distance especially if going by ferry/car/rail/coach. Not many people could afford to go in a privately chartered plane "as the crow flies"!

Hastings ground is/was right next to another ground where St Leonards Stamcroft played..they ended up playing each other in the Dr Martens Premier League for a couple of seasons during the late 90s 👍👍👍

It's funny how the longest distance between two non-league clubs in England is still shorter than the shortest road trip for some MLS teams. For example, Orlando and Atlanta are separated by 438 miles, according to Google Maps...and the league is still trying to manufacture a rivalry between them.

Bedfonts - the pitches may be 30 metres apart but the grounds are most certainly closer.

Chester's ground is on the old riverbed. The traditional border was along the middle of the river from Chester to the Dee Estuary. Because the river was silting up a straight channel was built in the 1730's, from about half a mile south west of where the ground now is, to keep the Port of Chester operating as it was the major port in the area before Liverpool grew as a port. So from the border to the river is in effect in Chester but technically in Wales. The old ground half a mile in the other direction was also on the old riverbed but obviously on the English side.

The closest non-league clubs are actually Squires Gate and Blackpool Wren Rovers. Their grounds touch, there is no gap between them. Also AFC Blackpool are only 2 or 3 minutes walk away too!

Thats why Argyle can never compete in the transfer market. Most clubs are in the north and players dont want to move south. We cant afford to outpay or outbid for them so we just have to fish around the scraps bin

A year or two ago on BBC local radio I heard the Yeovil Town vs Swindon Town match described as “ a derby “ but when Yeovil played Bournemouth it wasn’t- which is weird when it’s about 39 miles from hush park to Dean court but nearly 60 miles between Yeovil and Swindon ! Perhaps a geographical distortion occurs because of the Regional TV sports coverage of which B’mouth differs from the other two. ( although West tv was viewable in b’mouth & poole). There's a second team from England that plays in the Scottish non-league setup: Tweedmouth Rangers of the East of Scotland First Division Conference B. They play at the same ground as Berwick Rangers.

Berwick would be a good FM save.

Sorry to nit pick but TNS & Colwyn Bay aren't non league clubs. One is the champion of Wales & the other was a non league club before it moved to the LoW. Now it's a 2nd division LoW club. I remember when Lowestoft were in conference north & Workington lost a play off to get back in there. That would've been a journey.

I find grounds being next to each other fascinating, which makes British (especially English) football the best in the world. However, as a Canadian, the "long distances" mentioned in the comments don't seem very long at all. When Halifax Wanderers travel from Nova Scotia to Langford in British Columbia to play Pacific, they travel over 5,000 kilometres.

Another fun fact, Berwick Rangers aren't the only team from Berwick-upon-Tweed to play in the Scottish leagues. Tweedmouth Rangers play in the East of Scotland league (tier 7). Their ground is right next to Berwick's Shielfield Park and you even have to walk past Berwick's pitch to get there (I know that as I've been there). As a result, these are actually the 2 closest grounds to each other in England as they beat the other record you mentioned. There also is a third club from the town, Tweedmouth Harrow, who play in the Scottish leagues, the Borders amateur league in their 3rd tier. This could be considered tier 10 overall although there is no promotion/relegation from the East of Scotland league to the amateur leagues that are effectively "below" there.

Chester ground is interesting. Had chester offices been anywhere other than the east stand then they would have had to play in Wales.

Conference North and its southern counterpart is a SEMI nationwide league hence the mileage being over 100+ miles completely justified. Nationwide Conference IS nationwide as you would expect The Closet grounds EVER ARE, BoldonCW and Jarrow Roofing there literally 16ft apart Highest ground Stanley United 996 ft above sea level and Whitehaven 15ft Below I have been to these grounds Berwick Rangers play at SHIELDPARK and there not a Scottish pro side as last season there were Relegated replaced by Cove Rangers. Berwick Rangers now play in the Lowland League the equivalent of the Conference South. The Highland League bring the "Conference North"

Disagree about Bedfont being closest clubs together - Haverhill Borough (step 4) and Haverhill Rovers (step 5) only have a fence between the two grounds, about 15m from one pitch to the other I'd guess. Not much in it either way
