I have only seen Olivia de Havilland in "The Strawberry Blonde". I always thought "The Strawberry Blonde" worked primarily (if not solely) because of James Cagney, who is one of my all-time favorite actors. Sure he is a bit unlikable but he is still funny, a type of character he was a master at playing.
I just saw Gone With the Wind for the first time a few weeks ago and it blew me away, pun intended. I thought surely it would be overhyped but I absolutely loved it. Looking forward to checking out some of these other movies you listed, especially The Heiress.
Great video! I'm not sure if you've seen these already but I recommend watching In This Our Life and Hold Back the Dawn. She gave really great performances in both. And if you're looking for more of her lighthearted comedy films, I recommend Princess O'Rourke and My Love Came Back.
The first Olivia De Haviland film I ever saw was The Swarm (1978). Then I saw her in Airport 77 (1977). From your list I saw her in Lady in a Cage, Hush, Hush Sweet Charlotte and Gone with the Wind.
The last of the major actresses from the Golden Age of Hollywood, Olivia died at age 104 in 2020. I've watched a bunch of her films over the years (my mother-in-law was a fan and introduced me to her) but I've also seen many clips of interviews she did over the years which you can find here on RU-vid and she comes across as an incredibly decent person. She is very eloquent and also respectful of her peers and seems to have a genuine class that is sorely lacking in many of today's film stars who come across as fake and narcissistic by comparison. Not in all cases but definitely in some. Talent, beauty and class all rolled into one.
