I look to buy a parlor for a while since I sold my small Johnson TR15 because of it's narrow 42-43 mm nuth widht, and this is a good presentation. What I noticed looking after one and listening manny demos is, that manny budget 150 to 450 dollar parlors has boxie sound with few exceptions like Alvarez AP 66 or Richwood P65. Another issue is that most of the guitars presented here has only 43 mm nut widht (except the Alvarez AP 66 which has 44.45mm), which makes useful for small hands, but hard to play for bigger hands like mine and fingerpickers. Personaly for me, from this 10 the Alvarez is the winner regarding price and quality of the sound, but I found still the 44.45 mm nut widht not enough for me, so I have to find parlor like Richwood P 65 or Baton Rouge x11 C/P or x54 P which has 46 mm nut widht and fits bigger hands. Also Harley Benton or Framus has 45mm nut widtht parlors at great price, but again, most of them has a bit of boxie sound. Greatings from an owner of a Baton Rouge x54 OM CHB
I have owned two of the Alvarez AP 66's !! They really are a great little guitar . As a matter of fact I have owned probably 8-10 Alvarez' over the years. I play them as much or more than my Martins and Taylor? But I bought a Blueridge 361 about two years ago and it is becoming my favorite. I like the 1 7/8" nut.
If the creator intends to have it computer read it needs to at least write out the years so that it makes sense. It was very distracting and made the canned imagery presentation seem tacky. I mean we all have to start somewhere but I think you need to learn how to write it yourself or do some serious editing to the material you steal so it applies to the medium. Also, you didn't mention Washburn parlors which is nothing short of criminal.
I have the Blueridge 361 and it is fastly becoming my favorite . The wider nut at 1 7/8" really makes it perfect for fingerpicking . Witch if I live to 150 I may become and accomplished finger picker !
I believe a triple 0 Martin is too big to be a parlor guitar. I have a triple o Martin the 000-18 Martin and also an eighteen 70s 0-28 and a 1928 0-18. These would be considered parlor size. I also say do not purchase a guitar with a poly urethane covering. I only purchase lacquer painted guitars. The poly urethane coating will start coming off like scabs after a few years.
