Same lol And when you sleep and the blanket isn't covering your feet? It feels like the monster under the bed is going to drag you into an eternally dark abyss 😂
Especially after midnight Balete Dr is completely empty. You dont see cars passing through that street. I always take a different route whenever I drive late at night going to QC.
Me too but my grandma keep telling us that its not real until she said "DILI LAGI NA TINOOD! KUNG KINSA MAN ANG GA INGON NINYO ANA SILA ANG WAK²!!!" (° ͜ʖ °)
The San Juanico Bridge story was thought to be made up until the Manila Film Center incident happened. 169 workers fell to their deaths and got buried under quick drying cement. Imelda ordered the construction to continue without extracting the bodies so that they can still host an upcoming film festival. Imelda is known to have an edifice complex with construction projects left and right. After the film center incident, people started to believe that each of her construction projects has a bloody foundation.
Maria labo was caught in my hometown. She was pretty and tall and he had that scar in her face. I was 14 back then and i'm 25 now. I'll never forget her face.
Ohhh Maria Labo was real. I was like in elementary that time. She was caught somewhere and she managed to get away from the cell. We closed our school for some days. Crazy. Nobody was on the street at night for a few weeks.
John John yesss I remember when i was in elementary school and my local government actually prohibited elementary and high school students to leave the school without a guardian or parents to pick them up. Scared the hell of me back then.
Di naman naman sya galing canada. Parang kuwait man yan sya.
@@huehue7106 I'm sorry for whoever educated you but theres these things called Dubs or Subtitle's I'm sure you've atleast watched a couple of anime with Subs its the same thing deal with it
Maria Labo was so real I remember The government telling everyone that the schools has to be shut down for a while and nobody was walking at night or barley anyone was walking in public areas. It was so scary, they said She was caught somewhere and put to jail but she eventually escaped which led to almost a lockdown of public, I was elementary back then. Edit: I think it was on the news or In RU-vid/Google
yun pala yung eksaktong kwento ng number 1, kala ko naman dati nabaliw lang yung nanay dahil walang maihanda sa mga padating na bisita, kaya kinatay dalawang anak, at pinakain sa mga bisita.
When I was young I already heard about the snake man in Robinson, White lady in Balete drive but I think the legit there is the song My Way. Some Filipino drink a lot with no control and become aggressive and I think that’s the reason behind .
You know what's interesting? That golden boat he was talking about in Romblon Triangle, The Don Diego, is also one of the folk narratives in Albay. We were having our undergraduate research back in 2012 and residents of Malinao told stories about it. Somehow it still tickles my curiosity to trace this boat's sea routes on which parts of the country it used to appear.
AS A FILIPINO THIS MADE ME MISS "MIDNIGHT DJ" AND "MISTERYO".... OMG WHERE ARE THE OLD TV HORROR SERIES I USED TO WATCH WHEN I WAS A KID 😩😩THIS MADE ME MISS MY CHILDHOOD, SCARY URBAN LEGENDS WAS SUCH A THING BACK THEN
There is one he missed...although only those living near the Alabang, Muntinlupa would know. The Metropolis/Starmall at Alabang was a cemetery before they moved the corpses to another location and built the mall. Unfortunately, most of the souls stayed there. Based from most of the stories I've heard, people enter the theater with not so much people inside....and during and prior the end of the movie, they hear lots of clapping and noises (like the theater was fully packed)....but when the lights open, they realized most of the seats were empty.
there's a youtube channel "Storied" where they do well-researched myths from all over the world. They did manananggal and it was by far the best i've seen and heard.
I live in Quezon province!!! It is one of the province where Mount Banahaw resides. It is rumored in our town that there is a hidden place there that no one can't get to because that place is supposed to be very holy! People often say that long ago during the Spanish colonization era, some local refugees has been to that holy place while running away from Spanish soldiers and their wounds instantly healed and the soldiers never found them, at the time they woke up they're at the foot of the mountain.
I remember the story of kidnappers kidnapping children and stealing their organs. It still haunts me to this day. I'm not a kid anymore, but I'm always afraid of being outside at night.
Damn I remember too well when I was in Elementary School when flyers with a photograph of the actual thing were spread aroung our baranggay. It was the first time I saw graphic photos of that act and up to this day it gives me chills. Some would say it's fake and it's just used to scare children but the 'white van scare' (which happened again just a few months ago here in Manila) is too convincing for me that I do not put my guard down.
i'm loving lucy and george's reaction! ahhahahahaha. white ladies are not just found on balete dr. they usually seen inside buildings. ahhaahahahahha. take care! ^_^
About the Balete Drive, my mom told me that there was a radio news program in the 70s or 80s who did a live broadcast of their drive at the street to prove that there’s nothing supernatural about it. They were just driving by the street and they were just narrating that nothing’s happening then they started to panic because it’s just a straight road but they couldn’t find an exit. It’s like they were on an endless loop in Balete Drive. I forgot how it ended, but maybe they just made it sound dramatic to get ratings or whatever.
The San Juanico bridge is real my mother told me that she lived in leute with ber sister and mother which is my grandmother in my grandmothers time said my mither that the children were killed and their blood was used for streghtening the bridge
My experience with Maria labo is when I went home to our province in bicol. There was this local girl there named Maria, and everytime we talk she's either drunk or high on something. So when she doesn't get something, she always says her favourite catchphrase, "Wow, p're, n'labo." Yeah, she's a legend alright.
I actually have seen a White Lady, but I was not in the Philippines (although I live there rn tho). I was about 6-7 years old? (I'm 15 rn), Me and my mother went to the America for a vacation. We were in this hotel in L.A. While I was reading a disney book (it was night time) My mother was taking a bath, I noticed a long black hair in the corner of the bed, it seems like it is crouching. I remember not feeling scared, rather I was feeling confused/shocked. I went to the bathroom while squinting my eyes hoping not to see it again and when my and my mother came back it was magically gone. I still remember it to this day. This is why I believe they do exist.
Dont be scared some of them are also a myth, but my way song is a killer song in this country, dont sing this song in videoke bar or beerhouse or else.. 😁
Maybe the voices of them not good n that song s low voice n easy to sing... So every men drunk want that song coz they get the low voice.. But the sound who sing hmmm maybe try angry coz not good to heard... But good voice no problem, coz my uncle sing that b4 n he have good voice, but how many years b4 he died for disease...
I have climbed Mt Cristobal about 4x now (currently closed after a forrest fire). We had no sightings but I must say there is a peculiarly eerie feeling camping overnight there. I also live a kilometer from Balete Road. It is probably a favorite urban legend-no truth but it sure is a fun story to pass on. 😃
Mount Banahaw (Good Mountain) and Mount Cristobal (Devil's Mountain) is a side by side Mointain. They are both located on my hometown Rizal, Laguna. The other way to get in there is in Quezon Province. Its a nice mountain and good for hiking with local guide.
I also recommend you watch the "Manila Film center" incident. A lot of people died there. Some says that there are people buried in cement. And also, inside the manila film center, there are some writings in the wall, that is said to be written by the people who died. And some says that up until now, there are some still ghost wandering around.
I worked for ABS-CBN. We have to convert tapes to digital for the library. Remember those Magandang Gabi Bayan Halloween episodes? Yep, did about one week worth of tapes for that series. That one whole month I was on the night shift. Just imagine that. Wasnt able to sleep when I got home. I normally walk home but during that time, I always take a taxi home.
The curse of MY WAY" is very real. The song is a massive karaoke favorite. Usually, it's either some people get miffed at other for singing offkey or that they want to sing it but someone wouldn't let the mic go. An altercation follows and either they square off with fistfights or onto something more brutal. The unwritten rule now is, IF you are in a public karaoke bar, sing anything to your hearts content no matter how bad you sing. Just AVOID these songs: 1] MY WAY (Frank Sinatra); 2] MY LOVE WILL SEE YOU THROUGH (Marco Sison)
We actually sacrificed a goat when we were building our house. I remember draining its blood and pouring it in the ground where the foundations will be laid 😅
Mount Cristobal is really scary. We climbed it a more than a decade ago. One of our companions who had the "third eye" said he kept seeing someone chasing after us in his peripheral vision while we climbed up the mountain. And with our luck, we climbed it on a new moon so the surroundings was pitch black while we camped for the night and heard sounds of someone/something going around in the dark. Needless to say, we started our descent as soon as there was light.
Mt. Banahaw and Mt. Cristobal is located on the borders of Laguna and Quezon Province. Its near San Pablo City, Laguna where the Seven Lakes is located
7 out of 10 of those are true. A relative died singing that song, my cousin's barely got up the mountain, and after taking a picture and seeing one unaccounted hiker they went home. The long bridge has children singing from it when it's Christmas or full moon. "Aswang" is a common thing in very far provinces, one thing related to them is the food the small places give you if anything citrus comes in contact with the food they served, and it starts to form bubbles, then book it, that's human flesh. Dead patients are usually put in a different building, because of the reason that they may or may not start roaming, the morgue or hospice is always in a small heavily guarded, and locked building. The white lady thing is a common occurrence everywhere, the most common one is that one specific white lady since it's in a place where many people go through. The snake/child is a long-dead legend, but it did raise awareness of fitting rooms and the Robinson's Mall in general.
These are just the works of the mind of a writer, a writer can give a very big impact to urban legends or beliefs in certain provinces or tribe of people. I know this a fact cause my dad is a writer.
At the bloody bridge, the used blood and body parts of people were not only have been used in the Philippines. There are also similar stories from other countries, in China, there is also a story about a bell that its ring can reach miles away which is made using a taboo technique which requires a part of a person. In Japan, there is also a similar story but with a sword.
That number 9 is actually my favorite story ‘cause I get goosebumps every time I hear it. Btw, you guys seemed really terrified, it’s okay, it happened long time ago, they probably found the peace they’ve been looking... or not. Kidding. Goodnight. ✌️
The snake man twin story was concocted by a competitor who also had a “G” department store and who looked at Robinson’s Department Store as competition.
There are a lot of headless priest specially in schools because some schools in ph is a former graveyards.. There will be always a legend to the school abput a headless priest or the priest head on akasha's or baletes 😅
You deserve more than 'thumbs up' for watching that clip and getting through with it. FYI, here in the Philippines, people would often talk about stories like that since it is a good conversation piece! It's fun to hear some back stories of those legends. Maybe you should check on it sometime :)
Another urban legend is Maria Makiling of Mount Maria Makiling situated in Laguna Province. It is said that she is the protector of the forest there. Another urban legend is the Siokoy (spirit being) in a river in Nueva Ecija.
The snake man in Robinsons Mall, tge San Juanico Bridge, the white lady at balete drive are all classics 😁 i have know a different version of Maria Labo.
I was so not ready for this... It's 4:41am, I haven't slept, and I was watching random reaction videos when I stumbled upon this... And I can't emphasize enough that I was not ready for this. No more sleeping for me.
About the snakeman.... as kids we believed that people of the SM malls spread this urban legend to scare away people from going to robinsons mall and instead would go to SM malls.
I was born, raised and grow up in Lucban, Quezon at the foot of Mount Banahaw. Mount Banahaw and Mount Cristobal are twin mountains. Mount Banahaw is sacred mountain while Mount Cristobal said to be the devils mountain. There are many stories about these two mountains some are true some are not. Different religious sects gathered in Mount Banahaw during the Holy Week for religious rituals. I used to communicate in one of these religious sect. One thing I do believe about the many sitings of UFO coming out between the two mountains. I personally experienced seeing a low flying object together with my two best friends one summer evening while we were having discussion in the park. That flying object went so fast over our heads with super sonic sound and disappeared in minutes. In this modern digital age I hardly believe anymore of these stories and rumors.
In baryo wakwak is the most scary road in Philippines because in 6 pm there's no more ppl waking around or driving because when you walk out or drive you'll see a woman walking like a white lady
White Lady in Balete Drive in Quezon City is just an urban legend. When I passed there which is around 9 kms across, it was just a residential houses where I accidentally saw the famous fashion designer named Rene Salud talking to his staff and cuddling his favorite pet dog. It has rich residential houses where we are intimidated by the balete or otherwise known as fig trees planted on the side streets. If we do not investigate just because we are overwhelmed by the scary folklore, we wouldn't find the truth. It is fictional.
Romblon Triangle, were experienced by my father whose a chef fisherman (Kusinero).. Many boats sinked in that part of Romblon and Papa also saw that Ghost Ship which is a Gold Ship, super shiny.. It seems like, engaging you to come. (Nang-aakit) Basta yun na yun.😂 And up until now many boats are still experiencing tragic in that part of the ocean.
Maria labo is the reason kids in Visayas and Mindanao go to sleep early. they said she goes out at 5 in the afternoon and when she lick your slippers shirts or anything that has your smell you're gonna die. still creeps me out every time i remembers that time. it seems so real
If you want haunted places, go to Baguio in Teacher's camp and the Diplomat Hotel, I believe you can sleep at Teacher's Camp but not in the Diplonat Hotel because it's abandoned
Devil's Mountain is located just beside Mt. Banahaw which both featured in this top ten. It's in Quezon province in the southern part of Luzon next to Batangas. And the infamous white lady in Balete Drive is in Quezon city just so you know. 😉
Try watching the old tv series featuring Philippine mythical creatures, "Pedro Penduko"... *I really miss this story... You get to learn about Philippine myths...
There was this time when #ManilaEncounters were a huge trend on the filipino twitter community and you'll read lots and lots of scary urban legends/stories from people under that tag. There's a massive amount of stories like this in the Philippines
