I wouldn’t say it’s underrated, there are just not as many tourists because it’s so expensive. But that’s good because too many tourists would ruin the nature!

This is definitely one of your best posts. There were so many great places and amazing scenery. The Swiss always surprise you putting restaurants and hotels on mountain tops. Switzerland is always expensive, that's all there is to it, but worth it. The highlight was the incredible via Ferrata hike out of Murren. Not for the faint hearted for sure. Of course you loved it.

@@RyanShirley Lucerne is probably my favorite city. I stayed at the hotel atop Mt. Pilatus which was memorable. Staying on Lake Geneva near Montreux for sheer relaxation. The Matterhorn and Zermatt. Appenzell Village and area. Creux du Van sheer rock cliffs. All the outdoors there

Ryan I’ve been following you for a while now. I’d have to say this is your best video yet (and that’s quite a compliment for your videos are all wonderful). But I’ll go you one further and say this is the best travel video of Switzerland I’ve ever seen. And I’m an American of Swiss heritage and have been to many of these places. The Lauterbrunnen Valley and the Schilthorn Mountain are the most beautiful places I’ve ever seen. Bravo

@@RyanShirley I think you hit all of the most amazing places. I personally enjoyed Chateau Chillon, the villages of Murten and Gruyere, and Montreux. But I think, in Switzerland, the hardest thing to do would be to find a place that wasn’t beautiful. 😉

Nice list of places. I love Zermatt too. It is very touristy, but deservingly so. The views of Matterhorn from Gornergrat and other spots are magical, I agree. Valle Verzasca is amazing too and Grindelwald is one of my favourites too. I love to go skiing there. Aletsch glacier is stunning. I have to check other destinations from your list. Hi Ryan! This is really a great Top 10 Swiss Alps video! We have so many amazing places in Switzerland and it's difficult to decide 😃 For me the Oeschinensee lake is also one of my top ten places in Switzerland. Like also your dive in the cold Verzasca river. I was diving there some times but with scuba equipment and drysuit 😃 I wish you many more great travel experiences! Martin

I have to say - you are my favorite RU-vid drone videographer. Just miles and away the most incredible footage I've ever seen with a drone. I went to Switzerland years ago and I can recommend the town of Kandersteg. Also, lake Thun has some beautiful mansions on its banks.

I have to visit these places one day! The nature looks astonishing. I also have some Swiss Mennonite heritage from the Emmental valley and the edge of the alps SE of Bern, and the Zurich area as well. So it is also a very interesting historical connection for me.

@@RyanShirley I am from Canada, but my Swiss ancestors spent a lot of time in Pennsylvania before that (called Pennsylvania Dutch). They fled the anabaptist persecution in Switzerland centuries ago. They came mostly from villages like Eggiwil, Rothenbach Im Emmental, Sumiswald, and Langnau in the Emmental Valley, Canton of Bern. Most Swiss Mennonites came from that area. I imagine you've visited that region?

Ryan i follow since a while. I enjoy always your videos. Great video from Switzerland, you visit a great places in Switzerland. The next time you visit Switzerland you have to visit St.Moritz in the Engadine Valley. But you have to go with the Glacier Express Train. You will enjoy it. Also a trip from St.Moritz you can go with the train with the Bernina Express to Tirano, Italy. you will enjoy the trip.

It is rumored Tolkien's inspiration for the Lonely Mountain was in fact Matterhorn. I highly recommend that you do a road trip to Estes Park YMCA Camp and visit Trail Ridge Road National park. If you do you have to make reservation to pass through due to COVID-19. But it's got tundra landscapes at the summit as Furka Pass. That used feel a lot like Rohan and the trail ridge Rd visitor center felt like Edoras on the inside even if the architecture was different. If you were asked to do your own LOTR Series different to Peter Jackson's films would have used the alps as Rivendell and the Misty mountains?
